The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1611: Chapter 1611: Disabled Beast

When Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing returned to the spaceship, the bloodied Old Yellow Bull had stopped roaring.

Then.

It remained motionless, like a salted fish.

On X-N3848, Ji You and others didn’t look happy.

Yue Qiguang grabbed his hair, annoyed: ”So, this thing is just blocking the path without moving?”

”How long is it gonna block?” Sheng Qingyan, standing motionless at the platform, didn’t dare to budge, but the Old Yellow Bull blocking the way made him suddenly sleepy. He struggled to keep his eyes open, saying: ”Should I maybe go sleep first? Let me know when it moves?”

Wait...

Sleepy?

Sheng Qingyan paused, squinting his eyes, asking: ”Do you all feel sleepy?”

”Ha~” Chu Jiaojiao raised her hand, rubbing her brow, saying: ”A little bit.”

”You didn’t say so earlier. But once you did, I suddenly felt a bit sleepy.” Yue Qiguang frowned.

Yue Qiyuan’s expression turned serious: ”Spiritual Interference?”

Shen Changqing remained silent.

Everyone turned towards Senior He Bi and Ji You.

Ji You, hands behind her back, paced around once, saying: ”A little sleepy, but it’s not spiritual interference, or rather, it’s not deliberately aimed at us.”

Upon hearing this, everyone reacted, and Shen Changqing asked: ”Is it from the bull?”

”Yes.” Ji You nodded, saying: ”It’s sleepy, wants to sleep.”

Yue Qiguang twitched his mouth: ”So, does it want to drag us to sleep together?”

”Come on!” Sheng Qingyan was clearly displeased, saying: ”Ah Guang, what nonsense are you talking about? Who wants to sleep with a bull?”

”It’s not about it dragging us to sleep together, it’s—” Shen Changqing looked at the clumped-up Old Yellow Bull in front, saying, ”Its spiritual power automatically disperses, affecting us.”

Shen Changqing pursed his lips, saying: ”Even the slightest spill over affects us all. Just how strong is this spiritual power?”

Shen Changqing’s voice, rarely trembling, showed a hint of instability.

Originally, Shen Changqing was quite confident in his abilities; reaching S-Class spiritual power is tough, but he achieved it by age 10, already a leader among the new generation of the Alliance.

Contemporaries like the spiritual Talent Yue Qiyuan only reached S-Class at age 15.

Shen Changqing seemed low-key and reserved but was inwardly proud and confident, with even a touch of arrogance. Among peers, he believed he was the strongest, without exception.

Yet—

Upon entering the Lanyue Star Military Academy, certain people kept crushing his ego, leaving Shen Changqing somewhat shattered internally, so he quietly worked hard.

In the past, he willingly trained an extra hour after school; he had increased it to two. Both physical fitness and spiritual power, he trained more intensively.

As someone somewhat homebound, interested mainly in tinkering with Mecha and parts, Shen Changqing disliked socializing, but now he began to join others in more group tasks and training.

He even took an extra acting class on the Star Network.

...

All attempts to become stronger.

But, if enemies were too powerful to catch up to, regardless of effort?

A Level-12 Star Beast, top existence among Star Beasts, left them all at a loss.

With Old Yellow Bull unmoving, what should they do?

Wait?

Waiting would be a dead end.

Shen Changqing opened his mouth, feeling like he had much to say but didn’t know where to start.

Then, He Bi, who hadn’t spoken much, suddenly stood up, moved to the deck near the wing, took out a telescope, and after observing briefly, said: ”I need to head out again.”

Chu Jiaojiao immediately followed: ”Senior, together! We can’t let this bull fall asleep; once asleep, we’ll be completely stuck.”

This Old Yellow Bull, tough-skinned and rough, even after a long while, couldn’t be killed with knives; if it fell asleep, who knows when it would wake. Must they really just idle with it?

Chu Jiaojiao thought they must finish it off!

Shen Changqing instinctively stepped forward to follow.

He Bi raised a hand, stopping the two, saying: ”Let me check its injuries; it should be genuinely heavily injured, maybe unable to move. There’s no need for you to follow.”

Of course, this was just a guess.

Star Beasts are mostly ruthless, bloodthirsty, won’t tolerate humans nearby. Therefore, Old Yellow Bull’s condition is extremely unusual.

Its tolerance of He Bi and the others for so long indicates either severe injuries and weakness or it’s already dead.

Surely not because it doesn’t want to kill those on Number X-N3848.

So, what is the situation?

Firstly, its spiritual wave fluctuates intermittently, while its tail occasionally swishes, indicating it’s definitely not dead.

Simply—

It’s injured.

He Bi and others obviously knew it was injured; the key was the extent of the injury.

Is it unable to resist?

Or is it hiding a lethal move, yet to unleash?

...

Must be thoroughly investigated.

He Bi refused Chu Jiaojiao and Yue Qiguang’s help, about to leave when two voices called from behind:

”Senior, take me along.”

”Jerk, wait for me!”

In the corner, Liu Fufeng tossed aside the folded paper crane, stood up, saying: ”I’m going too.”

He meant going, not testing, clearly determined.

He Bi didn’t turn to Liu Fufeng but looked at Ji You, somewhat weary: ”Why are you messing around?”

Among them, if he’s gone, Ji You needs to live on to ensure most survive.

So naturally, He Bi subconsciously ensures Ji You avoids danger in any decision.

This was off, but he was helpless.

Ji You laughed playfully, jumped over saying: ”Senior, not interested in the chaos, just want to know if this bull could make barbecued beef skewers.”

He Bi: ”...”

He Bi pursed his lips: ”It’s dangerous.”

Ji You didn’t mind, saying: ”What’s not dangerous? Eating poses a choking risk, and drinking has drowning risk.”

Saying this, Ji You looked toward others, very seriously: ”I’ll go chat with Old Yellow Bull, talk to it, ideally get it to leave voluntarily, or at least give us passage.”

”...” Yue Qiguang rolled his eyes: ”Dream on?”

Ji You chuckled: ”Who knows if dreaming? Got to try, otherwise, we really just hang there?”

He Bi contemplated.

Ji You cheerfully said: ”I feel like it’s not hostile to us, at least it doesn’t dare have thoughts against us now. Since that’s the case, why not talk to it?”

Yue Qiguang twitched his mouth, thought surprisingly, you can speak cow language.

Then they heard Ji You say: ”If talks fail, then fight! Fight till it yields.”
