The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1157: Chapter 1157: Cobra

Run?

This is a Level 10 Star Beast, not a Level 1 weakling, nor a Level 4, Level 5 minor character, nor a Level 7, Level 8 enemy that can be defeated with effort. This is Level 10.

Level 10!

Neither Ji You, nor Chu Jiaojiao, nor Yue Qiguang, Yue Qiyuan, Shen Changqing... none of them have ever encountered it.

When Yue Qiguang made the decision to let everyone run, Ji You and the other classmates hadn’t even seen the full appearance of this Level 10 Star Beast, nor did they know what species it was, what characteristics it had...

No time, there’s no time to escape, everyone simply had no mind to worry about the raging beast approaching the spaceship.

Yue Qiguang said, ”Chu Jiaojiao, unleash all your potential, you must outrun it, don’t let it catch up to us.”

”You—”

Yue Qiguang hesitated slightly, but still gritted his teeth and said sternly, ”Dad never thought I was weaker than you, but if I were controlling the spaceship right now, I couldn’t outrun the Level 10 Star Beast. If you can do it this time, then I’ll admit you’re stronger than me!”

”If you don’t want me to despise you, then hurry up and run, run for your life!” Yue Qiguang stared at Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing with a very serious tone.

Chu Jiaojiao’s forehead was covered in large beads of sweat, she couldn’t muster the energy to respond to Yue Qiguang, only stared intently at the spaceship’s monitor, pulling the thruster to the maximum, pushing the spaceship’s speed to an extreme.

Shen Changqing was assisting beside her.

The Level 10 Star Beast appeared to be moving farther and farther away...

Suddenly—

The Level 10 Star Beast stationed in the starry sky turned its head, its gaze fixed on the fleeing spaceship, for a moment, it tilted its head, seemingly thinking about something, then suddenly whipped its tail and rushed forward aggressively.

Swoosh~

In an instant, it was at the rear of the spaceship, seemingly able to devour this small spaceship in one gulp the next moment.

It was also at this time, through the monitoring equipment, Ji You and other classmates could finally see the full appearance of this Level 10 Star Beast—it was a reptilian Star Beast covered with countless scales, resembling a cobra but larger, more terrifying... hovering in the starry sky now, its head raised high, watching the inconspicuous spaceship below.

Being stared at by such a fearsome beast, the feeling was hair-raising, even through the spaceship’s hull, Ji You and Chu Jiaojiao and others felt as though they were about to be devoured by the snake, it was truly terrifying.

The fast-flying spaceship suddenly jerked, staggering in mid-air, nearly out of control.

Ji You shouted, ”Jiaojiao!”

Chu Jiaojiao, shocked, looked down and found her hands had moved from the controls to the pause button, stunned, an icy chill rose in her heart:

What was she doing just now?

Like being possessed.

Chu Jiaojiao, regaining her senses, quickly stabilized the spaceship and sped away again, she glanced aside at Shen Changqing, noticing Shen Changqing’s face was pale, clearly under immense pressure.

Elsewhere, Lou, Lance, Yu Song, Yue Qiyuan, the four of them, waking from their daze and seeing each other’s actions, also broke out in a cold sweat because everyone had drawn their defensive weapons, aimed at their teammates.

What... what exactly is going on?

...

Ji You frowned and said, ”It’s spiritual power interference.”

Yue Qiguang, at this point also called back to his senses by Ji You, harshly grabbed his hair and said, ”This Level 10 Star Beast’s spiritual power can interfere with people, everyone must be vigilant, we should do nothing else but run now.”

No need for Yue Qiguang’s reminder, everyone understood that the situation had already reached a critical limit.

The distance that Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing desperately managed to open up, this ’Cobra’ caught up with the spaceship effortlessly, how can we run?

Yue Qiguang, anxious, had blisters in his mouth, instinctively looking at the rest area where Principal Hong and Dr. Luo were, Level 10 Star Beast is not an ordinary crisis, would the principal and Dr. Luo intervene to rescue?

This thought emerged, Yue Qiguang’s face turned dark, as a young man, inherently proud and arrogant, Yue Qiguang more so. He didn’t want Principal Hong to look down on him or mock him...

Asking for help now would undoubtedly lead to being mocked by Principal Hong.

But!

Face, or the lives of himself and his teammates?

After this question emerged in Yue Qiguang’s mind, he didn’t hesitate at all, immediately saying, ”Principal, Dr. Luo, we’ve encountered trouble, it’s quite tricky, I solemnly request your assistance.”

Oh?

Principal Hong raised his eyebrows slightly, Yue Qiguang’s decision indeed surprised Principal Hong, in his view, Yue Qiguang was a bit of a fool, with a sharp tongue and frequent blunders... but, didn’t expect that at this moment, he could unhesitatingly discard the self-esteem he held so dearly, choosing instead to preserve his own and his teammates’ lives.

Principal Hong’s dark eyes flashed, feeling very thoughtful:

Hmm—

Foolish as he may be, he is affectionate and genuine, with flesh and blood...

Truly the qualities of a young man.

Principal Hong tapped his fingers on the table, sincerely pondering, saying, ”Watching these young people, my gradually cooling blood seems to warm back up, this is why I’ve stayed at the school all along. Spending the rest of my days with a group of young people isn’t bad indeed.”

Dr. Luo beside him, however, was very worried, saying, ”Old Hong, this is too difficult for the kids; they can’t resolve it.” The implication being, intervention should come soon, or it’s easy to play with fire.

”Not in a hurry for now.” Principal Hong frowned, saying, ”This Level 10 Cobra, having just broken through, is still under our control, let’s first see how the kids handle it.”

Dr. Luo: ”But—”

She disagreed with Principal Hong’s educational approach, even though training the kids is necessary, it should be gradual rather than ramping the difficulty to hell mode immediately, Level 10 Star Beast, even just having broken through, is an immensely terrifying creature, capable of destroying a spaceship at will...

After the Universe, Star Beasts are numerous, spread across major Star Systems, but as long as there isn’t a Beast Tide outbreak, human navigation in Star Space is still very safe, because defenses are set up along the way and the Military Department regularly clears Star Beasts, and generally, Star Beasts above Level 7 rarely appear in the starry sky, Level 10 even less so... If the encounter is with a Level 4, Level 6 solitary Star Beast, as long as it’s not a group, the weapons equipped on a Flying Device can generally kill it, even if unable to kill, escaping is very easy for humans piloting the Flying Device.

Therefore, Ji You and his group of rookies, now facing Level 10 Star Beast, the pressure is imaginable.
