The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1152: Chapter 1152: En Route

Dr. Luo took the lead and boarded the spaceship first, followed by the ten students led by Ji You, with Principal Hong being the last to board. It was a small spaceship with a limited carrying capacity, accommodating a maximum of just over fifty people. However, the ship was fully equipped with a lounge, training room, weapons room... everything was complete.

Just as Ji You’s group put down their luggage and prepared to rest in their respective cabins to recharge, a broadcast sounded from the spaceship: ”Attention all passengers, the spaceship’s automatic mode will stop in three minutes. At that time, the ship may deviate from its original course. Dr. Luo and I are both busy, so you’re on your own. Good luck.”

Everyone: ”!!!”

Ji You quickly activated the voice link feature and asked, ”Principal, if the spaceship deviates from its original course and heads off to another route, what happens to our competition?”

Principal Hong said, ”If you can’t participate on time, you’ll automatically forfeit. Do you really need to ask?”

Ji You’s mouth twitched, and the expressions on everyone’s faces weren’t any better. At that moment, the spaceship began sounding the alarm for the stopping of automatic mode, prompting Ji You to grit her teeth and say to Chu Jiaojiao and the others, ”Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing, you both head to the cockpit now.”

Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing quickly moved upon hearing this.

minutes.

minute.

seconds.

...

In the final three seconds before the automatic mode stopped, Chu Jiaojiao leapt and secured the console, correcting the ship’s course.

Shen Changqing said from the side, ”There’s a hidden danger 0.5 light-years ahead of the target heading; be cautious to avoid it.”

Chu Jiaojiao snapped her fingers and said, ”Leave it to me.”

When Ji You issued the command, Shen Changqing and Chu Jiaojiao had just left the lounge and entered the training room. The distance between the training room and the cockpit was about 1,000 meters, and they weren’t on a straight path as various rooms, corridors, and light beams separated them. The fact that they managed to reach the cockpit in just two minutes was a speed on par with the official military.

In the largest lounge on the spaceship, Principal Hong leisurely shook his leg and nodded in approval.

After Ji You assigned Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing, she quickly continued, ”Yue Qiguang, Yue Qiyuan, you two guard the left-wing turret, and Lou, Lance, you two handle the right wing.”

The four of them did not delay and immediately followed the instructions.

Ji You then spoke again, ”Yu Song, you collaborate with Spicy Eye to research the navigation map. Within 30 minutes, mark all the stops, danger zones, and potential crises along the way. Can you manage it?”

Previously, Ji You and the others assumed that they would only need to follow the lead teacher to the competition at the First Military Academy, so they hadn’t worried about other things. As a result, no one had researched or familiarized themselves with the travel route to Main Star Nami Star in advance...

Ji You thought it over and felt that assigning this task to Sheng Qingyan, Shen Changqing, or Yue Qiyuan would be very appropriate. Considering that the cockpit and turret needed someone with S-level spiritual power at watch, Ji You chose Sheng Qingyan.

Yu Song?

This was Ji You’s first collaboration with Yu Song, so she didn’t know him well. In the 131st-term Combat Department, he ranked just below Ji You and others. Compared to Yu Yi, Penny, Xuzhou, Zhang Ye, Zhong Qing... Yu Song was more introverted, spoke little, but was stronger than Yu Yi and others.

Ji You’s most memorable impression of Yu Song was when he played a crucial role as a general in Shen Changqing’s 500-strong group during a freshman exercise field. After Shen Changqing was defeated, Yu Song brainstormed hard to turn the tide but still lost to Ji You, Chu Jiaojiao, and other scattered soldiers.

Shen Changqing was familiar with Yu Song because Yu Song’s father served under General Shen Chi of the Third Army. From a young age, Yu Song was influenced by his father to admire General Shen Chi’s heroic deeds, and gradually developed a desire to devote himself to Shen Chi. Given Yu Song’s abilities, getting into the Alliance First Military Academy was more than achievable, but he applied to Lanyue Star Military Academy upon learning that Shen Changqing would be studying there.

Thus —

Yu Song came along too.

Shen Changqing greatly acknowledged Yu Song’s abilities. When the Alliance hosted the online competition, he specifically reserved a spot in the team events list for Yu Song. But Yu Song was unlucky and got eliminated early in the competition when he faced Little Shengsheng, who was ranked first at the time, and could not move on to the finals.

...

Like Sheng Qingyan, Yu Song’s spiritual power and physical strength were both A-level. Additionally, he handled matters with great composure and made prudence his baseline, which reassured Ji You in entrusting him with the navigation map.

Then —

Among the ten-member team, only Ji You and Liu Fufeng were left.

Silence...

But only for a moment, before Ji You said, ”Liu Fufeng, stay alert and focus on surveilling the Star Beasts and interstellar pirates. The moment you spot any suspicious entities approaching, promptly trigger an alarm alert.”

Liu Fufeng was taken aback, ”Me?”

Could it be that I’ve been assigned a task?

For a moment, Liu Fufeng was stunned, unable to react. Whether in the past or present, whenever teamwork was necessary, requiring everyone to pitch in, Liu Fufeng had always been an invisible person. No one would proactively assign him anything, nor did anyone believe he could accomplish, let alone excellently fulfill, a task.

Did I really get assigned a task?

Liu Fufeng gazed blankly at Ji You.

Ji You said, ”Yes, you.”

Liu Fufeng opened his mouth, ”...”

Ji You continued, ”Don’t dawdle, believe in yourself, you can surely do it.” After speaking, Ji You extended her hand and loudly encouraged, ”Come! Everyone, with me, gear up no matter what lies ahead, we must find a way to push through.”

Hearing this, everyone was reinvigorated.

Soon, under Ji You’s organized arrangements, there was no trace of panic or chaos onboard, and everything was neatly in order as the spaceship smoothly sailed toward its destination.

Sitting in the luxurious lounge watching this unfold, not only Principal Hong but even Dr. Luo, who usually immersed himself solely in medical research, couldn’t help but frequently nod and say with a smile, ”This kid, Ji You, indeed has some leadership skills.”

To say the least, managing to swiftly organize tasks while having all the students heed her directives and execute them promptly made both Dr. Luo and Principal Hong highly satisfied.

But!

Principal Hong wouldn’t let them stay so settled, of course not!

Then.

After a period of smooth sailing, Principal Hong suddenly instructed, ”Ji You, rest up, let Yue Qiguang take command. If he fumbles or you guys refuse to cooperate with him or slip up, then —”
