The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1154: Chapter 1154: Cooperation

Personnel scheduling and the arrangement of various matters, Yue Qiguang did not change anything on impulse. Although he had never been a Captain nor thought of commanding a Legion, he wasn’t really foolish.

In a situation where the situation and conditions are still unclear, making sudden changes might lead to very bad results. Yue Qiguang couldn’t figure out what Principal Hong was really planning.

Is it to test oneself?

Or to test the team’s collaboration and adaptability?

Or?

In the short term, Yue Qiguang couldn’t figure it out, so he decided simply not to bother understanding but to take one step at a time. As for the dark intentions buried in Principal Hong’s heart, the time will come naturally to understand.

Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing are in charge of the cockpit, controlling the spaceship’s course. Yue Qiguang, Yue Qiyuan, Lou, and Lance originally guarded the two turrets on the left and right wings, responsible for attacking in case of emergencies.

Yue Qiguang’s position was forcibly taken by Principal Hong, leaving the left-wing turret with one empty position, and Ji You was free without orders from the Captain.

After considering a moment, Yue Qiguang suddenly said, ”4444, switch positions with Yu Song. You go study the route map with Spicy Eye and check for threats, Yu Song will guard the turret.”

Eh?

Principal Hong raised an eyebrow slightly.

Ji You was also stunned. She originally thought Yue Qiguang would simply ask her to fill in the gap he left, but unexpectedly, she was asked to switch with Yu Song?

However, Ji You just felt confused for a moment, and very cooperatively said, ”Alright, I’ll go right away.”

We are a team, a group of teammates. A team might not need someone particularly outstanding, but it definitely requires cooperation and assistance among its members. Ji You not only won’t contradict Yue Qiguang but will cooperate with him a lot, even giving some reasonable suggestions at the right time for Yue Qiguang to make his own decisions.

Usually, Ji You serves as Captain, replaced by Chu Jiaojiao, or Shen Changqing, or Yue Qiguang... As long as they are teammates, everyone will actively cooperate and collaborate...

As a Captain, what’s needed is not just combat skills but also situational foresight, personnel arrangement, and adaptability... these are very challenging tasks. From Ji You’s perspective, she is very willing to let every team member experience making decisions and arrangements from the Captain’s standpoint... this can be very enlightening.

Therefore, Ji You privately supports Principal Hong’s sudden arrangement very much.

...

Yue Qiguang saw his arrangement being quickly executed by Ji You and Yu Song and felt quite satisfied and a bit touched. For the first time acting as a Captain collaborating with teammates, Yue Qiguang remained silent but was actually slightly anxious inside.

And now, Ji You and Yu Song fully support him, Yue Qiguang suddenly felt more confident: Indeed, what’s there to fear? Being Captain isn’t scarier than fighting a Star Beast, is it?

Not scary at all.

Thinking this, Yue Qiguang’s mind started to race. Sitting in the control room, listening to occasional updates from Shen Changqing and Chu Jiaojiao, then listening to the route map notes fed back by Ji You and Sheng Qingyan...

With the team’s cooperation, Yue Qiguang gradually became more adept at handling things from initial clumsiness.

Witnessing everything from the side, Principal Hong nodded inwardly:

In Principal Hong’s eyes, these students are all proud individuals, outwardly merely competitive with one another, extremely fierce when fighting. Originally thinking suddenly assigning Yue Qiguang as Captain would disrupt their rhythm, if nothing else, at least half of these 9 people didn’t acknowledge Yue Qiguang’s capability as Captain. But unexpectedly, none caused trouble.

Due to the pressure I exert?

Or cooperating on the surface, secretly planning rebellion?

None of these.

Through observation, Principal Hong felt assured these children are genuinely supporting Yue Qiguang and striving to assist him in completing the mission.

Indeed.

”Quite impressive, isn’t it?” Dr. Luo smiled, asking Principal Hong.

”Indeed.” Principal Hong smiled, ”Team spirit is very strong, and mutual trust is extremely rare.”

Dr. Luo laughed, ”Based on their current performance, even on the return journey Yue Qiguang taking charge wouldn’t likely mess up.”

”How can one progress without mistakes?” Principal Hong chuckled, shaking his leg, ”Luo Wei, retrieve all your spiritual power released to intimidate surroundings.”

Dr. Luo chuckled, ”Sure.”

Suddenly, a warning came from the front:

Chu Jiaojiao’s voice transmitted through the public channel to Yue Qiguang’s ear: ”Yue Qiguang, a Star Beast is approaching from the southeast at coordinates 56 degrees, what’s your plan?”

”Approaching?” Yue Qiguang furrowed his brows, ”Send the surveillance feed here.”

In the pitch-black starlit sky, a marked red dot flickered rapidly. In a blink, the red dot darted toward the spaceship, drawing even closer...

”What level Star Beast is this?” Yue Qiguang asked on the public frequency. While Liu Fufeng was monitoring the surroundings, Yue Qiguang never expected an answer from the frail-appearing Liu Fufeng. The question intended for Yue Qiyuan, Shen Changqing, and Ji You.

The next second.

Yue Qiguang heard Liu Fufeng’s clear voice say, ”Level 5.”

Yue Qiguang: ”???”

Liu Fufeng: ”It’s a Level 5 Light Chasing Bird.”

Hearing this, Yue Qiguang’s eyes sank. This kind of Star Beast, just from the name, reveals its characteristics: it loves chasing light. The glow emitted by the spaceship’s energy during travel is the best beacon for a Light Chasing Bird...

It will relentlessly pursue...

Yue Qiguang frowned and asked Chu Jiaojiao and Shen Changqing in the cockpit, ”Based on the spaceship’s current speed, approximately how long until encountering it? If accelerating wholly, can we quickly escape it? Calculate the energy consumption required for evasion.”

”Also, if attacking it, how many people need to be mobilized, what’s the consumption, and what’s the fastest speed to remove it...”

Yue Qiguang had a series of questions, Chu Jiaojiao handled flying the spaceship and Shen Changqing responded one by one. After finishing, Shen Changqing asked, ”Ah Guang, should we fight or evade?”

Yue Qiguang instinctively turned, seeing the empty spot beside him, then realized his dumb brother was guarding the left-wing turret. Thinking for a moment, he asked, ”Ji You, what’s your take?”

Hm?

Yue Qiguang didn’t stubbornly make the decision himself but asked others?

Ji You responded, ”Definitely run; why fight it? A 6 Level Star Beast isn’t even worth it.”

Yue Qiguang: ”...”

Then—

Yue Qiguang said, ”Accelerate! Run!”
