The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1130: Chapter 1130: Rabbits

Liu Fu Feng’s face darkened slightly.

His surroundings suddenly fell into silence, even the restless, subtle sounds of the rabbits in the air seemed to vanish without a trace at that moment. The rabbits, which had been shivering and hiding from Ji You’s probing, all stared at Liu Fu Feng with a look of terror...

Yet!

They only showed fear, unable to produce any other sound, expression, or movement, as if collectively frozen, motionless.

Even separated by several walls, Ji You could sense the suffocating feeling.

Silence.

Ji You furrowed her brows, and as the suffocation and silence were about to infect her surroundings, she raised her hand and waved forcefully. At that moment, a faint crackling sound seemed to emanate from the air.

Crack~

Crack~

Crack~

...

The deathly silence gradually disappeared, the ice melted... the rabbits became active again, seemingly forgetting everything that had just happened; one by one, whether holding carrots or fresh vegetable leaves, joyfully gnawing away.

The calm on Liu Fu Feng’s pretty face showed a momentary change, and after slightly lowering his eyes, Liu Fu Feng retracted his emitted spiritual power, then quietly looked at Ji You, who was several hundred meters away.

Ji You had already pushed Liu Fu Feng out of her mind. At this moment, a white fluffy rabbit suddenly ran over at her feet. It first probed closer to Ji You, and seeing no reaction from her, approached further. Then, with a swift leap, it took the fresh lettuce at Ji You’s feet with lightning speed and dashed away.

In the blink of an eye, the white rabbit darted into the corner where a group of old, weak, and sick rabbits huddled.

Ji You raised an eyebrow.

This rabbit is quite bold.

In terms of size, it was relatively plump among this group of rabbits, and its fur was very fluffy, its ears slightly drooped. Its two red eyes turned continuously when Ji You looked over, giving it a sneaky look.

Ji You recognized it; it was a male rabbit. According to the rabbit shed records, it was already five and a half years old. In the interstellar era, rabbits, due to the harsh living environment, despite human attempts to cultivate and improve their genes, had relatively short lifespans. The oldest rabbit might reach about six years old, with the average age of long-eared rabbits around two to three years.

So, this male rabbit was literally an old man.

What made Ji You remember it wasn’t just its longevity but also because it had snatched food from her feet five times. Yes, including this time, it was the fifth time.

It seemed quite afraid of Ji You, but unlike other rabbits that didn’t dare to eat or move out of fear...

Ji You looked at the rabbit with interest. The rabbit nestled into the group, clutching its piece of lettuce tightly, glancing at Ji You, then taking a bite quickly, glancing again, and taking another bite...

Ji You stroked her chin: ”Why is this rabbit so special? Its fear of me doesn’t seem to be the kind of fear that I would harm its life but rather a fear of me snatching its food?”

Not right.

Ji You muttered to herself: ”Its fear of me before came from a survival instinct; its change is due to long exposure to me, gradually making it not afraid of me.”

Ji You furrowed her brows:

[Is it habit?]

[Or another reason?]

Unable to figure it out, Ji You lifted her foot and strode towards the rabbit. The rabbit, sensing Ji You’s movement, trembled, then quickly hid the half-eaten piece of lettuce. However, its skill in hiding food was quite clumsy, simply tucking it under its belly and bottom.

Ji You came to a stop in front of it.

The rabbit looked up at Ji You, its face innocent.

Ji You smiled: ”I can already see the food under your belly.”

Of course, the rabbit didn’t understand, but it could see where Ji You’s gaze was focused—on the food under its belly, so it nervously scrabbled at the ground.

Ji You reached out, about to take the lettuce.

The rabbit paused for a moment, then swiped a paw at Ji You.

Ji You dodged.

Then—

The rabbit, in front of Ji You, hurriedly moved the lettuce under its bottom.

Ji You glanced at the other rabbits around, finding that most of them shrank their necks, not daring to move, but there were still a few, about forty to sixty rabbits, calmly munching on green vegetables, showing no reaction to Ji You’s arrival or actions.

Ji You raised an eyebrow, giving an odd glance at these ’elderly and old’ rabbits, ”So these few rabbits really have no reaction to my arrival.”

Pondering for a moment, Ji You’s face suddenly became serious, her entire demeanor changing, her oppression rising.

Almost as soon as Ji You changed her aura, the forty to sixty rabbits calmly munching the vegetable leaves jolted, their eyes scanning around. Once they detected the inexplicable aura came from Ji You, they returned to normal.

Hmm?

Not afraid of me?

Ji You racked her brains but couldn’t figure out the issue. At this moment, Little Golden Dragon, who had been quietly sleeping inside the Mecha’s special Space Button, suddenly woke up. It leapt out and onto Ji You’s shoulder, patting it lazily before greeting Ji You and saying, ”Actually, these few rabbits aren’t afraid of you. It’s simple; their weak spiritual power has seen you countless times and has already adapted to your fluctuations. Or to put it simply, they’ve developed an inertial habit and recognition of your spiritual power.”

”Eh?” Ji You chuckled, seeing Little Golden Dragon wagging its tail energetically, and said, ”Little Golden Dragon, you woke up just in time, help me figure out why they aren’t so afraid of me.”

Little Golden Dragon rolled its eyes and said, ”Didn’t I already explain the reason? I said: they aren’t afraid of you because they’ve developed a simple thought habit towards you.”

Ji You remained silent.

second.

seconds.

seconds.

...

Little Golden Dragon smirked and said, ”If you want to practice your Concealment Technique, try finding a way for your spiritual power to create an inertia and dependency in your target group. As for how to do that specifically, I suggest building a familiar spiritual environment for them, meaning you disguise your spiritual power into something familiar or reassuring to them, then they won’t be afraid anymore.”

Upon hearing this, Ji You thought carefully, then glanced again at the rabbit that had stolen the lettuce at her feet, noticing it only slightly raised its head upon sensing her gaze, then continued eating the lettuce.

Ji You said, ”I’ll give it a try.”
