The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1123: Chapter 1123: Stealth Training

In the following days, after school, Ji You would go with Chu Jiaojiao, Sheng Qingyan... and a group of people to the self-funded training room. The equipment here was just too advanced, too useful, making Ji You reluctant to use the training equipment she bought for 200,000 credit points in her dormitory. Comparing the two, Ji You realized how rudimentary her purchased equipment was and how mismatched it was with her current progress.

Luckily, the school’s self-funded training room was open to Ji You for free.

Ji You was still working on the Ninth Layer of the Fierce Tiger Body Forging Technique, and she could never get the Concealment Technique of the Ninth Layer to be complete. This made Ji You frustrated, she insisted on achieving completion.

That day.

Chu Jiaojiao, Shen Changqing... after making their selections, each went into their own training room. Ji You picked a physical fitness training room, guessed the time, and opted to rent for 1 hour.

hour, 0 credit points.

Spending like this, it didn’t hurt at all.

Very soon.

Ji You entered a separate training room. As she walked in, the training room system, based on her previously set template, automatically transformed the scene. It was a vast, endless green forest, surrounded by lush shrubs, a small stream ran beneath her feet, and further away was a patch of green grass, and beyond that, a tall coniferous forest...

A herd of deer drinking by the stream, upon hearing movements, took off in a flash.

The commotion of the deer stirred other small animals nearby, causing them to flee in all directions...

Ji You: ”...”

In Ji You’s mind, there were a million grass-mud horses running wild.

”I haven’t even turned into a tiger yet, huh.”

”Why are you all running?”

”Even if I were a tiger, I’d be a vegetarian tiger! What are you all blindly running away for?”...

...

Ji You was almost beside herself with anger. She glared at the empty surroundings, with only the sound of the creek trickling, and couldn’t help but pull up the internal system of the training equipment to lodge a complaint: ”System, I think there’s something wrong with the settings of these scenes and the props like deer, rabbits, mice, sparrows... I did nothing, why do they all run?”

The system listened carefully to Ji You’s description of the problem and said, ”Please wait a moment while I check.”

second.

seconds.

seconds.

...

After 10 seconds, the system completed the check and said seriously: ”Classmate, upon checking, there is nothing wrong with the props in the scene settings. The reason for this situation can be attributed to two factors: First, you are too weak.”

Ji You: ”Huh?”

System: ”Second, your concealment and hiding techniques are too weak.”

Ji You: ”!!!”

Ji You rubbed her ears, thinking she heard wrong, ”System, I asked you to find problems, not make me the problem. You’re making it hard for me not to suspect you’re stirring up trouble on purpose, huh.”

System: ”Classmate, upon inspection, there is no error in system settings. Classmate should look for reasons within yourself. Do you want to continue using the training room? 1 to continue, 2 to refuse. Please select. Countdown—

10, 9, 8...”

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You took a deep breath and said, ”Continue.”

System: ”Scene simulation has been restarted, please continue to do your best.”

The system withdrew.

Ji You raised her hand and rubbed her forehead: ”This damn system, its temper is comparable to Teacher Mu’s, no wait, Teacher Mu is still more annoying...”

”Cough cough...”

”I didn’t say anything.”

”The things I just said were said by my Spiritual Silk.”

Six Strands: [...]

The Boss flicked its tail, slamming hard against the edge of the Spirit Space Barrier: [Master, can you slander us behind our backs next time?]

Ji You chuckled: ”I’d love to slander you behind your backs, but where can I take you behind my back?”

Old Five: [Exactly, the master can’t take us behind her back, right?]

Six Strands: [...]

Ji You looked around the empty surroundings, feeling quite troubled for a moment: ”Can’t you guys be a bit more restrained? Now, where should I find deer, rabbits, or wild chickens to practice on?”

Upon hearing this, the Six Strands shrank a little and dared not make a sound.

Ji You huffed: ”Today is already the 9th day. 9 days and I haven’t caught a single rabbit, or even touched a single pig hair. There’s no progress at all, and you still dare to chatter in front of me?”

Six Strands: [...]

Ji You sighed and said: ”We’ve got to step up our game.”

So, where is the problem? Logically, these simulated rabbits, deer, wild chickens, and ducks are all backed by a string of data. Their sensitivity and such should be quite clumsy, incomparable to real small animals, yet Ji You’s Concealment Technique never succeeded once.

Not sure where the issue lies.

Listening to the Master’s words, the Six Strands felt a bit wronged. The Boss shrunk its head, its large body frozen: [Master... we really tried our best, we didn’t even think of eating grilled rabbit or grilled deer, or grilled chicken, grilled duck, grilled fish... cough cough...]

The Boss left behind some wronged drool.

Old Two, Old Three, Old Four, Old Five, and Old Six all collectively swallowed their uncontrollable drool...

Ji You shot an eye knife over: ”Just that? You still say you didn’t think about it?”

The Six Strands simultaneously shrank their necks. Old Four, who was lying on Old Five’s head, held back and took the initiative to speak an honest word: [Master, we’re really innocent, even if we’re starving, wanting to eat, we wouldn’t think of eating a heap of data!]

Hmm?

Ji You was stunned. What Old Four said made sense. But Ji You was struck with enlightenment, realizing the root of the problem—

—Data!

That’s right.

All along, she treated these little animals as a heap of data and never genuinely saw them as opponents.

In the end, it’s a mindset issue.

Mentality-wise, always in a high, overlooking state, of course, she couldn’t truly immerse herself in it, and it always kept these little animals on high alert...

Ji You took a deep breath and said: ”Let’s go again, everyone work with me to break through the ninth layer.”

Concealment Technique...

High-level, profound Concealment Technique... Ji You didn’t know for now, she decided to follow the steps, starting first with disguise, Ji You took out a tiger skin and draped it over herself.

Then.

She lay down in the grass, standing still.

second.

seconds.

seconds.

...

minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes... Ji You remained like a statue in the grass, the patterns on her blending with the slightly withered grass, as if she became the grass...

But!

Still no rabbits, no mice, no birds... passed by.

Ji You wasn’t anxious, she held her breath, restraining her own aura, gathering all the spiritual fluctuations, her whole state was kept particularly relaxed and natural...

Just at this moment, a very alert little grey rabbit, after looking around, ran towards Ji You, bit by bit, closer, closer... just as it was about to step on Ji You’s head, the system suddenly issued a violent alarm!
