The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 580: Chapter 580: Chase and Escape

Ji You asked Fu Feng to share a few thoughts on defeat, but unfortunately, Fu Feng was uncooperative and kept silent.

So, Ji You opened her mouth, wanting to give him a piece of her mind, but seeing her start to ramble again, the audience immediately cried out, ”Stop talking! Just fight!”

”Whenever you open your mouth, the serious atmosphere of the match disappears.”

”So, no more talking.”

”Fight! Fight! No more pointless chatter!”

Ji You: ”...”

She never expected the audience would ask her to shut up.

Then—

Ji You looked at Fu Feng and asked, ”How do you plan to fight? Using Money Ability? Or something else?”

Fu Feng glanced at her and asked, ”Are you going to use the antique mech?”

Ji You shook her head and said, ”No.”

Fu Feng nodded and stated, ”I won’t use Money Ability either.”

Ji You: ”Really?”

That sounded a bit deceitful.

Fu Feng declared, ”It’s useless, probably won’t be able to stop you.”

Ji You chuckled and said, ”Be confident, big bro! You’re not that idiot Hero King.”

Hero King, sitting unnoticed in a corner of the audience stands, instantly turned dark with rage, clenching his fists tightly, while his companions from King’s Expedition quickly grabbed him, urging, ”Hero! Calm down.”

Hero King’s forehead veins popped out as he too wished to remain calm!

But—

On stage, Rag Queen continued, ”That idiot Hero King, a 100,000 points turtle shell, he can only utilize 5% of its capability.”

That’s too much!

Not only was Hero King infuriated, but even members of King’s Expedition couldn’t bear to hear it anymore.

Nevertheless—

Fortunately, the countdown to start the match just finished, sparing everyone from listening to any more of Rag Queen’s nonsense.

Ji You entered the Blade Point Cockpit, transforming her previously playful demeanor to one of utmost seriousness.

Fu Feng also entered his mech, connected the Spiritual Connector, and immediately after piloted his mech to swiftly escape...

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You wondered, ”What’s he running for?”

The distance between them quickly grew so vast, almost one at the extreme south and the other at the extreme north of the arena.

As Fu Feng ran further, the audience thought he might launch a distance attack, considering many struggle with close combat and switching to long-distance would make sense.

However—

Fu Feng did nothing.

He only kept running away every time Rag Queen approached, continuing to maximize the distance between them.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

This scene baffled the audience: ”What’s going on? Is he playing hide and seek?”

Is Fu Feng’s ability really that inadequate?

Before his match with ’Bai Jiu’, everyone’s impression of player Fu Feng was summed up in four words: low-key, quiet.

But ever since he lavishly threw out a 100,000 points Protective Shield, four new words have been added to describe him: outrageously extravagant.

Regardless, no one thought his abilities were lacking, and each of Fu Feng’s matches ended very swiftly, both crisply and neatly. So why the delay now?

Everyone was puzzled.

Ji You was puzzled too.

Her opponent, hesitant to face her head-on, was one thing; him running exceptionally fast, making it hard to catch up in a short time, was another!

It seems—

A distance attack was the only option!

Narrowing her eyes, Ji You tentatively fired a cannon shot at Fu Feng!

Swoosh—

The Particle Cannon, breaking air resistance at a speed that exceeded light, rapidly zoomed forward.

Fu Feng, staying true to form, didn’t dodge but fired back, intercepting Ji You’s shot.

The two Particle Cannons collided mid-air, exploding and sparking fiercely!

Boom—

Amidst the fireworks, Ji You took the opportunity to maximize her thrusters to speed up, intending to close the gap between them to increase her shooting accuracy.

Fu Feng seemed to sense something, or perhaps he had anticipated it, as he immediately moved a distance of at least a thousand kilometers at the first chance.

Ji You: ”...”

Ji You squinted his eyes and yelled, ”Big brother, what’s your deal? Don’t run! Let’s have a proper fight face to face, a good satisfying brawl!”

Fu Feng kept silent and instead took the opportunity to widen their distance again.

Ji You: ”...”

Audience: ”...”

Despite being somewhat speechless, the kind-hearted audience wouldn’t believe that Fu Feng was afraid of close contact with the Rag Queen and quickly found a reason for him: ”Playing a defensive tactic?”

Exactly!

Definitely employing a defensive strategy!

Fu Feng must have his plan, everyone just needs to calmly wait for him to make a move!

And so—

minutes passed.

minutes passed.

minutes passed.

...

Numerous audience members began to doze off, ”When will Fu Feng counterattack? Let me know, I’m gonna take a quick nap.”

”Me too, taking a nap.”

”Iron, when the fight starts, remember to wake me up.”

...

It was expected to be an evenly matched, head-to-head battle, hard to separate till the very end, but it turned out to be so boring—

Half a day went by just watching the chase.

Boring.

Really boring.

Ji You was panting heavily, feeling somewhat speechless herself as she was running out of Physical Strength, yet no matter what, she couldn’t catch up to him, and every time she fired at him, he successfully intercepted...

Ji You really couldn’t understand, what in the world was Fu Feng running for?

Could it be—

He was afraid of close combat with her?

This thought sprung up, and Ji You couldn’t help but squint her eyes: Why?

His spiritual power was strong, and his Physical Strength was clearly better than hers, whether it was a long-range attack or close combat, he should be able to compete with her.

Ji You kept her doubts in her heart and decided to change her strategy since she was tired of running anyway.

So—

In front of everyone, she found a spot to sit down and started massaging her legs.

Fu Feng also stopped.

Audience: ”...”

”Another halftime break?”

”Damn halftime break!”

”If you keep fighting like this, it’ll be dark and the winner still won’t be decided!”

...

No matter how the audience below complained, the two of them on the field ignored everything, stubbornly resting.

At this moment—

Feeling probably guilty, Ji You sat motionlessly, tentatively fired a cannon.

Fu Feng didn’t move, just raised his hand to counter.

Ji You fired another cannon.

Fu Feng intercepted again.

After several repetitions, both gradually escalated from one cannon, two cannons, to a dozen, dozens...

Bombarding each other with crazy cannon fire!

Ji You, who was initially nonchalant, started to become seriously involved!

Something wasn’t right!

Her sniping ability was comparable to Sheng Qingyan, but how could Fu Feng intercept successfully every single time?

Nearly none broke through his defenses!

What’s happening?

Ji You kept pondering in her heart, yet stayed restrained, continuing to sporadically smash Particle Cannons at him!

Just—

On the surface, Ji You remained calm and collected, but inside she was in agony!

This damn Fu Feng! Does he think my cannon fire is free!
