The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 553: Chapter 553: Crowned at the Top of the Elimination List

The bean sprouts that have been shaken on the spoon always seem to lose their original fragrance. As Ji You chewed on the bean sprouts, she felt really depressed. Isn’t Liu Fufeng being too stingy? Is it just because I didn’t lend him points?

Is it necessary to retaliate against me like this?

Frying some bean sprouts and you need to shake the spoon?

That suggestion about adding some rib sauce to the rice would taste better, Ji You was sure that Liu Fufeng said that just to provoke her.

Humph~

While eating, she listened to her classmates discussing the morning’s competition. After finishing the meal, the students didn’t delay and immediately returned to the training room to watch the top 20 to top 10 matches in the afternoon online competition.

Making it into the top 20, all were geniuses among the students at Alliance University, which could well illustrate the intense competition expected in the afternoon.

The competition was about to start. Whether it was the Combat Department’s training room where Ji You and her friends were, or the discussions on Star Network, everything was especially lively. Ji You also noticed a forum poll guessing the top 10 finalists.

Among them, Little Shengsheng from East District ranked first with a high voting rate of 56%.

To Ji You’s surprise, the second place was Chu Jiaojiao, who got a voting rate of 53%!

Ji You raised her eyebrows in surprise and quickly glanced at the forum’s comments about Chu Jiaojiao, only to understand why she was so highly rated. Apparently, Chu Jiaojiao’s match against Liu Wan, the second from the North District, was quite impressive, fast enough and shocking to many.

Next...

Third place was the top contestant from the South District.

Fourth place belonged to the top contestant from the West District.

Fifth place went to the outrageously inhumane Liu Fufeng.

The sixth place was the third from the North District.

Seventh was the second from the South District.

Eighth was actually Spicy Eye’s Little Cutie!!!

Seeing Sheng Qingyan on the list, Ji You started to feel bitter...

This—

Her name wasn’t in the top 10, and Ji You was getting anxious.

She couldn’t wait to scroll to the end of the list, staring with wide eyes and looking carefully for a while, but her name was nowhere to be seen. Ji You’s face darkened, and she muttered under her breath: ”What kind of messed-up poll is this? No name for Rag Queen, this isn’t scientific at all!”

Just as she was mumbling, Ji You’s peripheral vision suddenly caught another viral post colored red. Ji You, being ever curious, reached out and grabbed the post. As soon as she opened it, she was immediately furious, her mouth askew and eyes slanted!!!

She saw—

[A vote for the top 10 most likely to be eliminated freshmen has arrived, hurry up!]

First place: Rag Queen, voting rate 81.99%

Ji You: ”...”

Damn it!

What kind of hellish poll is this? Who the hell made this, and how could my voting rate be so high, isn’t it utterly unscientific?

Initially, Ji You didn’t even want to care about this absurd poll anymore, but she suddenly saw some infuriating comments.

88L: Rag Queen deserves this ranking, truly.

89L: Got lucky with a bye once, think she can get it twice?

90L: Everyone in the top 20 fought their way in, only this Rag Queen got a bye because of her dogshit luck. I hope I can see her get eliminated in the next match.

91L: Don’t be so bitter, having dogshit luck is also a skill, haha...

Ji You’s face went from dark to darker, she couldn’t hold back anymore, and shot back a few words: [What the hell? This is naked jealousy against the Chosen Son, just wait to be slapped in the face, Rag Queen will definitely beat Little Shengsheng, kick Drunk Lying on the Beauty’s Knee, strive to be the best, and seize the top spot!]

After railing against them, Ji You’s mood instantly improved.

Then—

Suddenly her inbox started beeping incessantly with countless messages coming in; Ji You was startled, she opened them to find they were replies from the forum:

@Rag Queen: Is this the real you?

@Rag Queen: The real deal?

@Rag Queen: Damn, it really is the real deal! Is this the real deal not admitting defeat and starting a tirade on the forum?

@Rag Queen: Beating up Little Shengsheng, kicking Drunk Lying on the Beauty’s Knee? Such arrogance! Who is this, by the way?

Ji You: ”...”

Damn!

Forgot to use an alias.

Then—

In less than a few seconds, another post immediately exploded on the forum, sensationalizing the event of Ji You herself coming online to have a verbal battle with Black, and it attracted countless idle onlookers...

Ji You’s face grew darker as she read more.

Finally, Ji You picked a comment and replied: [That’s right, I am who I am, and my name and seat won’t change, Rag Queen it is!]

After posting, Ji You blocked her private messages and quickly went offline to stay safe.

On this side.

Ji You turned her head and saw Liu Fufeng quietly sitting beside her, rubbing his fingers.

”???” Ji You tilted her head and asked, ”Rubbing what?”

Liu Fufeng, feeling Ji You’s gaze, whispered, ”Rubbing off bad luck.”

Ji You: ”Ah ha~ almost forgot.”

With a new round of eliminations coming, it’s indeed time to rub off some bad luck. Ji You shook off her gloom, took a deep breath, and began to vigorously rub her fingers...

The strange actions of the two immediately aroused the curiosity of the people around them; Chu Jiaojiao directly asked, ”Ji You, what are you rubbing?”

Ji You: ”Bad luck.”

Chu Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up: ”Does it work?”

Ji You’s lips curled with an ambiguous smile, saying, ”Personally tested, it works.”

Chu Jiaojiao held out her hands and started to rub vigorously.

So, when Mu Jianling walked in, he saw a row of three people, Liu Fufeng, Ji You, and Chu Jiaojiao, all making weird gestures. Mu Jianling’s mouth twitched, and he loudly said, ”The competition is about to start, put away your little movements, those who advance should focus on preparing; as for—”

His gaze swept unintentionally towards Shen Changqing, Mu Jianling said, ”As for those eliminated, don’t be disheartened, it’s just a competition. The purpose of the competition is to help you understand yourself better, know your strengths and weaknesses, so you can improve faster.”

Huh?

Why does Teacher Mu Jianling sound so gentle today? He’s even comforting people, could the school actually know who advanced and who got eliminated?

Ji You felt a bit puzzled.

But—

Thinking it over, it was indeed possible, as every student entering the Alliance University intranet for the competition had to register through the school’s student portal.

As Ji You thought this, initially not paying too much attention, but suddenly she remembered the huge amount of points she had earned from previous competitions. So, the school already knew about that?

Whoa—

The moment this thought surfaced, Ji You suddenly became alert; she remembered how mysteriously fast her points had been depleting recently... Hundreds of thousands just vanished in the blink of an eye...

Just then, Mu Jianling loudly said, ”Everyone quiet down, focus on watching.”

Students: ”Yes!”

Ji You also shouted along, snapping her wandering thoughts back to the present. In 10 seconds, it would be time for the draw!

contestants, whoever you draw, that’s your opponent!

Ji You rubbed her hands nervously, looking at the 19 slips of paper in front of her, muttering to herself as she reached out—
