Sacrificed To The Triplet Alpha Kings

”And you need me?,” Lilith said.

”We do,” Sebastian admitted, and there was no shame in his voice, only truth. ”Your presence... it calms the curse. We don’t fully understand why, but when you’re near us, the feral edge is manageable. Without you, it becomes almost unbearable.”

Lilith let that settle for a moment, understanding the weight of what he was telling her. She mattered to them in a fundamental, biological way. She was essential to their ability to function.

But then Sebastian leaned forward slightly, his dark eyes intense.

”But that’s not why we want you,” he said quietly. ”I need you to understand that. You matter to us, Lilith. Not just because you help manage the curse. We want you because we care about you,”

Lilith felt something shift in her chest at those words, something fundamental realigning. She’d known, since she followed them back here that they cared about her. But hearing it stated so clearly, hearing him separate her value as a person from her utility as a curse-management tool, made it real in a way it hadn’t been before.

”I have questions,” she said after a moment.

”I know you do,” Sebastian said, and he smiled slightly. ”Ask them.”

”Will Nicholas and Lucian tell me more? Individually?” She wanted to hear from each of them, wanted to understand how they each experienced the curse, wanted to understand the full weight of what she was entering into.

”They will,” Sebastian confirmed. ”When you’re ready. When you ask them. But not now. I wanted to give you this much first, and then let you decide what else you need to know.”

The council chamber was deep within the Blackwood estate, built into the stone foundations that predated the main structure by generations. It was a room that existed in shadow even during daylight hours, lit by torches that cast flickering light across stone walls carved with the history of the Blackwood pack.

The elders had gathered as they did once every moon cycle to discuss pack matters, but tonight the meeting had taken on an intensity that hadn’t characterized these gatherings in years. Word had spread through Blackwood territory that the alpha brothers had brought back a mate. Word had spread that she was the daughter of the man blamed for their father’s death.

The air in the council chamber was thick with tension.

Elder Raphael sat at the head of the stone table, his silver hair catching the torchlight, his weathered face carved into an expression of deep concern. Beside him sat Elder Catherine, who’d served the pack for forty years and whose opinion carried significant weight. Elder Lucas occupied the third seat, his massive frame hunched forward, his expression dark.

Around the table sat a dozen other pack elders, warriors who’d earned their position through decades of service, healers who’d proven their wisdom through countless difficult decisions, advisors whose families had been part of Blackwood for generations.

”The girl is here,” Lucas said without preamble. His voice was rough, scarred by age and authority. ”She arrived at the estate over a week ago. The Alphas have declared her as their mate.”

The reaction was immediate, a ripple of shocked murmurs, some angry, some confused, all carrying the weight of complications that extended far deeper than a simple mate claim.

”How can this be?” Catherine demanded, her voice sharp. ”Victor Thorne’s daughter? The daughter of the man who caused Alpha Alaric’s death?”

”Her father was a traitor,” Raphael growled, leaning forward aggressively. ”He sold us out. He led Alaric into an ambush that cost us our alpha and nearly cost us everything. And now they want to bring his daughter into our pack? To make her our future luna?”

The chamber erupted into overlapping voices, concern, anger, confusion, betrayal. Elders who’d fought alongside Alaric, who’d mourned his death, who’d spent months managing the aftermath of his loss, were all voicing their objections at once.

”The blood debt was paid,” one of the younger elders said, trying to introduce reason into the chaos. ”The contract was fulfilled. Shouldn’t that be enough?”

”A contract doesn’t erase betrayal,” Marcus said heavily. ”A contract doesn’t bring back our fallen alpha. And it certainly doesn’t make it acceptable to bind our future luna to a traitor’s bloodline.”

The argument continued, escalating in intensity. Some elders questioned whether the girl had somehow influenced the brothers, whether she was working to undermine the pack from within. Others demanded the bond be nullified, that the girl be sent back to Shadowmere immediately.

”We cannot have a traitor’s daughter as the mate to our alphas,” Raphael declared, standing to his feet with aggressive finality. ”The pack will never accept it. Our warriors will never respect her. How can we expect the pack to follow someone whose own bloodline has proven disloyal?”

”The pack does not get a choice in who the Moon Goddess pairs as mates,” a quieter voice said from the far end of the table. Elder James, the pack’s spiritual advisor, spoke rarely but always with purpose. ”The bond exists. The alphas have recognized her. Whether we like it or not, she is now our future luna.”

”Then the pack is doomed,” Raphael spat, his face reddening with anger and passion. ”We might as well dissolve ourselves now if we’re going to accept this kind of weakness.”

That’s when the doors to the council chamber opened.

Nicholas, Sebastian, and Lucian walked in together, their presence immediately dominating the room in a way that made even the most aggressive elder fall silent.

Nicholas moved to stand at the head of the table, his silver eyes cold and assessing as they swept across the gathered elders. Sebastian positioned himself to his left, his dark eyes tracking each elder’s reaction. Lucian stood to his right, and his gold eyes were blazing with a kind of feral intensity that made even the most experienced warriors in the room tense.

”We received word of this meeting,” Nicholas said, his voice carrying the authority that came from generations of alpha bloodline. ”We thought it important to address the concerns directly.”
