Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 599: Test His Strength

Ximen Hongwu and Ximen Yueliang, who were leading the remnants of their subordinates to search for Zhang Fei, were surprised by the appearance of Ximen Yan and several of his subordinates. Moreover, the unusual look in their cousinʼs eyes convinced them that something was controlling him.

Ximen Yueliang subconsciously took a step back and hid behind her big brother, especially since Ximen Yanʼs gaze was clearly focused only on her. ʼBrother, he seems to be planning to capture me.ʼ

ʼYeah.ʼ Ximen Hongwu nodded slightly. ”What are you doing here, cousin?”

”Kill their subordinates!” Ximen Yanʼs subordinates immediately moved as soon as their prince ordered them to attack their enemies. He then moved toward Ximen Hongwu, attacking him with full force.

”Gah!” The blow sent Ximen Hongwu flying far backward.

Ximen Yan didnʼt directly attack Ximen Hongwu again. Instead, he flew toward Ximen Yueliang, who was trying to escape. ”No! Cousin! Let me go!”

”Heh.” Ximen Yan snorted and thrust something into Ximen Yueliangʼs neck, causing her body to go limp in his arms.

Ximen Yueliang was shocked to discover that her body lacked strength and that she was unable to use her demon power or cultivation, particularly since Ximen Yan had sealed both of them. ”Brother! Save me!”

”Bastard! Release her!” Ximen Hongwu, who had just stabilized his body, immediately dashed toward his cousin to save his sister.

With a faint smirk, Ximen Yan threw an object toward Ximen Hongwu, which instantly exploded before white powder enveloped him.

”Cough… Cough…” Ximen Hongwu immediately protected his body with qi, but he was a bit too late in doing so, as he had already inhaled a bit of the white powder, causing his movement to slow down significantly. When he arrived, Ximen Yan had already disappeared from his sight, and he had taken Ximen Yueliang with him. ”Damn it! What kind of powder is that?”

Ximen Hongwu then assisted his subordinates in eliminating all of Ximen Yanʼs subordinates, a task that proved to be relatively easy for him. After eliminating them, he ordered his subordinates to spread out in search of his cousin while also rushing to find them in another area. ”Fuck! Iʼll kill that bastard if something bad happens to Yueliang.”

Meanwhile, Ximen Yan had already brought the powerless Ximen Yueliang into a cave a little way away from the previous location, and then he chained her body with bloody red chains. ”What exactly are you planning to do to me, Cousin?”

”Just shut up and wait for my master to come here.” Ximen Yan replied coldly.

Ximen Yueliang appeared perplexed and pondered deeply. ʼMaster? Since when did he have a master? Isnʼt his master Uncle Gongfu?ʼ

*Drap... Drap...*

After they had waited for almost two hours, Zhang Fei and the others heard the sound of several swift footsteps running towards them. Simultaneously, a screen appeared above them, causing them to frown as they realized their next test was to eliminate the nearby enemies.

”A test like this has never appeared before in the survival challenge.” Bai Tianʼer and the others immediately stood up and prepared to face the approaching group of enemies.

ʼThat old man did change the test on purpose.ʼ Zhang Fei inwardly muttered as he lifted Xian Xianqin to her feet, but he had the Xian princess retreat behind them. ”Senior Changyue, you donʼt need to move yet, and I will try to fight with Zhou Tong first.”

Xian Changyue briefly raised an eyebrow before posing a question. ”Are you sure you can face him? He is different from Zhou Fang, and his cultivation is in the 5-Moon Divine Transcend Realm.”

”I wonʼt know the outcome until I fight him, and if I canʼt defeat him, you can make your move.” After Xian Changyue nodded, Zhang Fei immediately took out the demon extermination sword, especially since Mei had detected that Zhou Tong had a demon bloodline in his body. ”You guys must focus on getting rid of all his subordinates as soon as possible.”

Soon, Zhou Tong and several of his subordinates arrived nearby, and the Zhou Prince glanced at Xian Changyue, the strongest member of Zhang Feiʼs group, whom even his father dared not underestimate.

”What do you mean by this, Zhou Tong?”

Zhou Tong shivered at Xian Changyueʼs cold voice, but he responded by pointing at Zhang Fei. ”Senior Changyue, I came here specifically for him because I believe he has done something to Zhou Meiling. I hope you donʼt interfere in our matter.”

”Do you have any evidence that Zhang Fei has done something to Zhou Meiling?” Zhou Tong frowned at Xian Changyueʼs question because he did not have any evidence, and it was just his guess. ”He has been with our group since we entered the mazeʼs inner area, and your sister was with you at that time. Moreover, we never met your sister in the inner area, so we know for sure that he didnʼt do anything to her.”

”Itʼs useless for you to talk to him, Senior Changyue.” Zhang Fei then pointed his sword at Zhou Tong. ”From the start, he was jealous of me because my strength test was equal to his despite my cultivation being far below his, and my other test results were also much better than his. He clearly had no evidence whatsoever and accused me simply because of his jealousy, so we donʼt need to talk much with irrational people like him. Moreover, the test requires us to defeat our closest opponents, and since they are our closest opponents, we are left with no choice but to engage in combat with them.”

After he said that, Zhang Fei immediately teleported in front of Zhou Tong and kicked him with full force, sending him flying backward.

”Attack them!” Ximen Chuixue immediately led their group members to attack the people from the Zhou Kingdom.

Xian Changyue did not move from her spot, but her gaze was focused on Zhou Tong, who looked shocked as he stood face-to-face with Zhang Fei in the air.

ʼWhat the hell is with this guy? How could he move in front of me so quickly?ʼ Just as Zhou Tong was contemplating his next move, Zhang Fei moved in front of him once more and aimed the demon extermination sword at him. However, the Zhou Prince had already shielded his body with his Qi, preventing his attack from reaching him.

Zhou Tong immediately attacked Zhang Fei with his Qi-covered fist, but his punch hit empty air as he had already disappeared.

Zhang Fei reappeared behind Zhou Tong and slashed his sword toward his back, but his Qi protection once again blocked his attack. The Zhou Prince spun around to attack him, but he had already disappeared first, causing his attack to fail again.

ʼShit! No wonder he can beat Fangʼer! Even I couldnʼt detect his aura or discern his movements. Zhou Tong immediately spread his senses to look for Zhang Fei, but he was unable to locate his whereabouts. ʼWhere did this rat actually come from? How could his speed surpass mine? How could he trick my senses?ʼ

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

Two dark red Qi swords suddenly shot toward Zhou Tong, but he immediately drew his sword and countered them. Immediately, a dark green Qi sword collided with both of them, causing them to vanish before it shot toward the sky.

”Hmm?” Zhou Tong immediately looked up at the ethereal dark claw that suddenly appeared above him, but he smiled and swung his sword upwards, instantly splitting it in half before disappearing. ʼTch! I donʼt know how that brat can hide from me, but his weak attacks are useless against me.ʼ

Zhang Fei, who was hiding in the distance, could only sigh as Zhou Tong effortlessly broke all of his attacks. ʼThe difference in strength between the ten mortal realms and the seven divine realms is indeed too stark! Although I am far superior in speed, all my attacks are useless against this guy, and I canʼt possibly defeat him with my current strength if my attacks canʼt break through his qi protection.ʼ

[Master, Xian Changyue is the only member of your group capable of defeating Zhou Tong, so you should allow her to do so instead of wasting your time on him. If you want to do something about him, you can ask her to restrain him for some time.]

Zhang Fei softly sighed in agreement, but he was unable to take action against Zhou Tong due to his strong soul power. He was sure that Xian Changyue wouldnʼt take any drastic measures against the Zhou Prince, particularly as it could potentially spark a war between the two kingdoms. Moreover, Zhou Fang and Zhou Meiling were already in his hands, so he didnʼt really need their big brother.

After he spoke to Xian Changyue through voice transmission, Zhang Fei immediately left his hiding place and went to another area.

Zhou Tong, who was busy looking for Zhang Fei, frowned as Xian Changyue flew towards him. ”What—”

”You should give up this challenge, or I will force you to do it.” Zhou Tong frowned even more at Xian Changyuʼs threat, but he then looked at his subordinates, who Ximen Chuixue and the others had defeated. ”Even if I donʼt make a move against you, all of them can defeat you with their combined strength, so you must give up and take your subordinates back. As for Zhang Fei, you donʼt have any evidence of his involvement in Zhou Meilingʼs disappearance, so he is innocent until you can find the evidence.”

Zhou Tong gripped the hilt of his sword tightly as he realized that he would not be able to defeat all of them by himself, whether Xian Changyue was by their side or not. Moreover, he remembered Feng Yao, who had a good relationship with Zhang Fei. ʼTch! Iʼm sure that bastard kidnapped Meiling, but I canʼt prove his involvement. Not to mention, that mysterious woman is also by their side, so I should go back and report this matter to my father.ʼ ”I give up!”

After he said that, Zhou Tong and all his subordinates were sent out of the challenge, and they were immediately expelled from the tower. When his fatherʼs subordinates approached them, they promptly rushed back to their kingdom.

Xian Changyue heaved a sigh of relief as she looked at Xian Xianqin and the others, but she still felt uneasy because Zhou Tong would report everything to her father, necessitating preparation for Zhou Xiaochuanʼs future plans. ʼWhere is that kid? Why didnʼt he appear? Did he go to take care of the two demons?ʼ

Xian Changyue then landed in front of the others, informed them that Zhang Fei was taking care of something, and asked them to rest while waiting for the last two tests of the survival challenge.

Meanwhile, Zhang Fei had already arrived in front of the cave and entered it directly, and Ximen Yan immediately knelt in front of him, shocking Ximen Yueliang, who was still chained by the bloody red chains. ʼWhat on earth is happening here? Why is my cousin kneeling in front of this brat? Since when did he do something to him?ʼ

”Are you surprised?” Zhang Fei asked as he lifted Ximen Yueliang to her feet with his aura and brought her before him. ”At first, I didnʼt want to deal with you yet, but you have done something to Xian Xianqin, and I hate it the most if someone attacks the people closest to me.”

ʼHow... how did he know that?ʼ Ximen Yueliang inwardly muttered as her body trembled, especially since she was in the situation of not being able to fight back against Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei smiled at Ximen Yueliangʼs frightened expression. ”By the way, youʼre after me too, right? I admit youʼre quite beautiful, and youʼre still a virgin. Unfortunately, your yin qi and female essence are too weak for me, making you unworthy of even being my prisoner.”

”If you kill me, my parents will immediately know that you are the culprit, and they will hunt you down while destroying the Xian Kingdom.” Ximen Yueliang threatened Zhang Fei with a trembling voice.

”I know.” Zhang Fei nodded to Ximen Yueliang as he transformed into his lust demon form, shocking and stunning the Ximen Princess at the same time. ”As you can see, I am a demon like you, so I understand your cunning mindset. Anyway, you donʼt need to worry because I wonʼt kill you, especially since I still need you to do some things.”

”What... what are you going to do to me?” Ximen Yueliang screamed while struggling, especially after Zhang Fei touched her chest. ”Please...donʼt do anything to me and let me go! I...I will do anything to help you.”

Zhang Fei did not respond to Ximen Yueliang. Instead, he implanted his soul mark into her soul, and he merged her soul with Ximen Yanʼs soul, causing her expression to turn completely pale with fear.

”This way, you wonʼt be able to say anything about me, and your lives are also tied together. If he dies, then you will also die, and vice versa; he will die if you die.” Zhang Fei then turned to Ximen Yan. ”You can release her and let her return to her brother, and I want you to return to your kingdom right away.”

”Yes, Master.” After Zhang Fei left, Ximen Yan forced Ximen Yueliang to swallow the antidote before releasing her, and he disappeared from the spot once he gave up the challenge.

*Bam... Bam...*

”Bastard! How dare he do this to me!?” Ximen Yuliang screamed in anger and frustration as she repeatedly punched the cave wall, causing her hand to shed blood. ”Is my life really tied to my cousinʼs now? Will my life truly end if my cousin dies? If thatʼs true, I must go to my mother and talk to her about this, and I hope she can do something to separate our souls.”

After giving it some serious thought, Ximen Yueliang decided to give up the challenge, leading to the immediate expulsion of her, Ximen Hongwu, and their subordinates from the tower.

Ximen Hongwu looked upset as soon as they arrived outside the tower, but he felt relieved after seeing that his little sister was fine. ”Did you decide to give up the challenge because of our cousin?”

Ximen Yueliang wanted to tell her brother the truth, but Zhang Feiʼs soul mark hindered her words, so she provided an alternative explanation. ”I didnʼt know what he would do to me, and I hurriedly gave up to avoid anything bad happening to me.”

”I see.” Ximen Hongwu nodded in understanding. ”Itʼs okay; your safety is the most important thing, and we can challenge this tower another time.”

After that, Ximen Hongwu contacted their fatherʼs subordinates to meet them, after which they hurriedly left the tower.

Nu Huangjin, who was watching her two children from outside the barrier, also disappeared from that place. However, she was curious about what happened between them and Ximen Yan, so she planned to interrogate them directly.

Zhang Fei had already returned to his groupʼs side and promptly explained Ximen Yan and Ximen Yueliangʼs situation. ʼIʼm sure that woman wonʼt continue to stay here, and she must have given up this challenge. This way, we donʼt have any more opponents, and we can take the remaining two tests with peace of mind.ʼ

Xian Changyue, shocked by Zhang Feiʼs revelation, did not immediately respond, instead continuing to stare at him with trembling eyes. She and her brother had been searching for a way to defeat the two demon kingdoms for a long time, but they never succeeded. Meanwhile, he was able to easily control the lives of the prince and princess of the two kingdoms. ʼSomehow, all your actions make me afraid of you, and Iʼm afraid that you will use your controlling abilities on me, making me submit and obey you completely.ʼ

ʼAs long as you are not my enemy, I will certainly never do such a thing to you, but vice versa.ʼ Xian Changyue nodded in understanding and let out a soft sigh, and Zhang Fei directly questioned her. ʼAnyway, how do you feel after my copy used two of my abilities on you a few weeks ago? Are the effects still lingering in your body?ʼ
