Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”I do.”

Two simple words, yet they held so much meaning.

This was Ivy Sherwood giving herself completely to Quentin Blackwood. For the rest of their lives, they would be bound together.

Nestled among the roses was a dazzling diamond ring.

Quentin Blackwood took out the ring and slipped it onto Ivy Sherwood’s middle finger.

Now, Ivy Sherwood had his Buddha Beads on her wrist and his ring on her finger. He had snared her for good; there was no escaping him now.

Ivy Sherwood took the bouquet of roses from Quentin Blackwood, surprised by how heavy it was.

Woven in among the roses were many purple irises, creating a particularly beautiful arrangement.

His proposal a success, Quentin Blackwood practically lunged for her, wrapping an arm around Ivy Sherwood’s waist. His fiery lips came crashing down on hers, full of urgency.

The bouquet between them was a bit of an obstacle, so Quentin Blackwood simply set it aside and went back to kissing Ivy Sherwood.

Behind them, the entirety of Lustre became their backdrop. The sky was still filled with fireworks—a magnificent, extravagant feast for the eyes.

Quentin Blackwood had waited for this day for a long, long time. He wanted to marry Ivy Sherwood. He wanted it more than anything.

Quentin held her against him on the cruise ship, kissing her for a long while before she finally rested her head against his chest.

”So, that time you asked me to come out on the water with you... were you planning to propose then?” Ivy Sherwood finally understood what Quentin Blackwood had been plotting.

Quentin Blackwood nodded, his deep eyes reflecting only Ivy Sherwood’s face. ”Yes. And this time, it was a success. Ivy, you’re mine now.”

”Why didn’t you say so sooner? If you had, I would’ve dressed up more. You’re so formal, and I’m so plain. If anyone saw us, they’d think I’m not good enough for you.”

”How could that be? You look beautiful in anything. If anything, it’s me.” If they had to talk about who was worthy of whom, Quentin Blackwood would say that Ivy Sherwood was the brightest star in the sky, one he had dared to pluck and claim for himself.

The fireworks lit up the sky all night, stunning everyone online. ”Lustre Fireworks” even started trending.

Netizens were discussing it: ”Did they buy out all the fireworks in the entire country? How much must that have cost?”

”Hasn’t anyone noticed? The firework patterns look like irises. They’re so beautiful! I’ve never seen such gorgeous fireworks. Which domineering CEO is proposing?”

”You’re all just looking at the fireworks? Didn’t you see the drones over the water? Now that was truly breathtaking. They formed an image that I think I’ve seen in a museum. I never knew an ancient painting could be recreated in such a vibrant, colorful way. I guess I’m just ignorant.”

”Quick, look at the DG website! I heard the president has some happy news, so everything under the DG brand is 20% off.”

”What? 20% off? Should I go stock up? I only buy DG products these days. They’re amazing, but the usual prices aren’t very friendly.”

”What about the houses? Is DG’s real estate division offering a discount? If it’s really 20% off, I’ll go reserve two more units. Just consider it my wedding gift to President Blackwood!”

The internet was abuzz with discussion about the event. Quentin Blackwood had already made arrangements: if people were just discussing the proposal, they could talk all they wanted. But if anyone tried to stir up trouble or change the narrative, the posts would be deleted immediately.

He had also arranged for the news about their childhood betrothal to be leaked.

”A childhood betrothal? Oh my god, that’s so romantic!”

”I’m officially reporting President Blackwood for cruelty to single people! Don’t our lonely lives matter? Still, I love this kind of universal celebration. Does this mean there’ll be a 50% discount when they get married?”

Ivy Sherwood never expected to wake up and find herself trending again.

Someone had figured out that she was the woman at the center of the proposal. People had seen her and Quentin Blackwood together, and they had even been spotted going in and out of a hospital, leading to rumors that Ivy Sherwood was pregnant.

However, most of the posts that could have negatively impacted Ivy Sherwood had been deleted on Quentin Blackwood’s orders.

Some people were saying, ”How did Ivy Sherwood get so lucky? To be noticed by President Blackwood.”

”Seriously, their families don’t seem to be on the same level. Is she some kind of goddess? I thought Ivy Sherwood was average-looking.”

”Average-looking? You guys have no idea. She’s more beautiful than a goddess. One look at her, and you’ll never find another woman beautiful again. Her looks are just divine. If she went into showbiz, she’d gain countless fans even if she were just a pretty face.”

”You’ve got to be kidding. Everyone knows Ivy Sherwood is plain. She even did a livestream when she broke off her engagement before, and she looked totally average.”

”Did she get plastic surgery? How is her face completely different from before? I saw the photos—she’s gorgeous. Her unfiltered pics don’t need any editing and could put a ton of other people to shame.”

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Mercer Family also came forward to announce that they had found their long-lost little sister: Ivy Sherwood.

The internet completely exploded. ”The Mercer Family? Is that the Mercer Family I’m thinking of?”

”Ivy Sherwood has a background like that? She’s a bona fide lost princess! The Blackwood Family and the Mercer Family aren’t even in the same league. And to think the Blackwoods bullied her like that before.”

”Silas Blackwood must be regretting it to death. He used to complain she was ugly, and what now? She’s a rich, beautiful princess. Looking at the Blackwood Family now, I’m once again so glad she broke off the engagement.”

”This is a perfect match! I’d like to see who dares to say Ivy Sherwood isn’t good enough for Quentin Blackwood now. Besides, she has her own company. I absolutely love this couple!”

With all the different opinions flying around online, Ivy Sherwood woke up the next day to see several trending topics about her and found it all hard to believe.

Her phone had also been blown up with messages. The congratulatory texts came one after another, numbering in the thousands.

Ivy Sherwood had always been well-liked; everyone she’d worked with wanted to work with her again. Naturally, they would all send their blessings now.

Ivy Sherwood was surprised everyone already knew. The news had spread way too fast.

Nina Scott sent a congratulatory message, too. ”I was wondering why the fireworks didn’t stop last night. So it was President Blackwood! How was it? Is the diamond ring he gave you big?”

Ivy Sherwood glanced down at her middle finger. It did seem pretty big; calling it a pigeon’s egg wouldn’t be an exaggeration.

”Why are you teasing me too?” Ivy Sherwood replied.

Nina Scott said, ”I’m congratulating you! So, did you say yes to President Blackwood?”

”I did,” Ivy Sherwood replied, chatting with her.

”Wow, it looks like wedding bells are just around the corner!” Nina Scott exclaimed, getting excited as well.

Ivy Sherwood said, ”I’m not so sure. We haven’t even picked a date, and nothing’s been prepared.”

”Don’t worry, President Blackwood will definitely prepare everything. You just need to take care of yourself and the baby and wait for the wedding. The Scott Family has been busy these last two days, too. They’re marrying Yara off to the Walker Family. The wedding date is the same as before. It’s similar to what the Blackwood Family did—just swapping the bride and carrying on with the wedding.”
