Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”I’m not lying. Here, one for each of you. Open your eyes and take a good look.” After speaking, Nina Scott pulled a stack of papers from her bag and handed one to each person.

These were photocopies of her marriage certificate.

The others’ faces went deathly pale. ’This Nina Scott... she’s already married?’

”I’m already married. Bigamy is illegal, right? This is wedding candy. I won’t hand it out individually, so just split it amongst yourselves.”

Nina Scott had clearly come prepared—she even had the wedding candy ready.

The Walker family immediately turned to the Scotts. ”What is the meaning of this? She’s already married, yet you still try to palm her off on my son?”

Mrs. Scott’s expression was ugly. She raised her hand, about to slap Nina Scott.

As the hand swung down, Nina Scott caught Mrs. Scott’s wrist. ”In front of all these people? Are you so shameless that you’re going to start hitting people?”

”Nina Scott!” Mrs. Scott shouted, feeling like she was about to lose her mind.

’This Nina Scott... she’s the bane of my existence!’

”Please, calm down,” Mrs. Scott said, trying to smooth things over. ”My daughter is just being a little mischievous. The marriage certificate must be a fake. It’s probably Photoshopped.” She clung to a sliver of hope.

Nina Scott said, ”It’s not a fake. Feel free to look it up; it’s all officially registered. Or perhaps you’d like to see the video from the wedding day?”

Everyone else’s face was grim, and even Cameron Walker was staring wide-eyed. Only Nina Scott was smiling brightly.

”I told you before that I had a boyfriend. You were the ones who insisted on forcing me to get married. I never once agreed to it.”

”Nina Scott, my family already paid the betrothal gift, and your Scott Family took it!” Cameron Walker said, his face dark as he clenched his fists.

Nina Scott replied, ”I’m not the one who took the money. You should go find the person who did.”

”Nina Scott, you’ve gone too far!” Yara Scott chimed in.

She hadn’t expected Nina Scott to actually go and get married in secret. ’What are we supposed to do now?’

Nina Scott said, ”Me, going too far? If you’re so reasonable, why don’t you marry him? You all took the family’s money, after all. What, do you think you’re the esteemed young lady of the Scott Family, and Young Master Walker isn’t good enough for you?”

”I...” Yara Scott was so angry she could grind her teeth, but she didn’t dare to refute what Nina Scott had said.

”That’s not what I meant,” Yara Scott could only say.

After all, the Walker Family was a prominent one. If she admitted to looking down on them, her own family would certainly be unhappy.

Even though, in her heart, she looked down on the Walker Family and disliked them.

”Since that’s not what you mean, why can’t you marry him? Didn’t you always say how great Young Master Walker is? You even said you liked him a lot!”

”I never said that!” Yara Scott denied loudly.

Her fists were clenched so tightly her nails dug into her palms. ’This Nina Scott is definitely doing this on purpose. She wants me to marry into the Walker Family? In her dreams!’

”Didn’t say what? It seems you really don’t want to marry him, then. What’s so bad about Young Master Walker? It’s not like you have a boyfriend or are already married. Isn’t that right, Young Master Walker?”

Cameron Walker glared at Nina Scott, looking like he wanted to strike her.

”Nina Scott... you’re really something,” Cameron Walker said, forcing her name through clenched teeth.

”I know I’m really something. Lots of people think I’m great, and I happen to agree.”

Nina Scott sat down. ”Anyway, the situation is what it is. Now that you all know, you should think about a solution. If you want me to get a divorce, you’ll have to ask if my husband agrees.”

”Even if I did get a divorce, I’d be a divorcée. I could marry anyone then. But this baby in my belly... I wonder who it would have to call ’Daddy’?” As she spoke, Nina Scott deliberately caressed her stomach.

”You’re pregnant, too?” Cameron Walker asked, stunned.

Nina Scott nodded. ”I am. You want to be a dad right out of the gate?”

Cameron Walker fell silent instantly. Nina Scott continued, ”I see you’ve already sent out the invitations, right? As I recall, they announce a marriage alliance between the Walker and Scott families, but they don’t specify *which member* of the Scott family, do they?”

”Here’s my suggestion: why not just go ahead with the wedding? It doesn’t matter who does the marrying since there’s no love involved. Besides, Yara Scott is much more dutiful than I am. Once she joins your Walker Family, she’ll surely cook, clean, and take care of the kids and her in-laws. I mean, look at how well she takes care of my mother, and that’s not even her real mom.”

”Nina Scott!” Yara Scott spat out her name. ’So that’s what this was about! This is what Nina was waiting for!’

’Nina deliberately caused this scene today just to force her to marry into the Walker Family.’

’She would never agree!’

”What’s the matter? I’m just helping you come up with a solution. If word of this gets out, think of the humiliation. The Walker and Scott families are respectable names in Lustre, after all. If the wedding is called off, who knows how long the gossip will last,” Nina Scott said nonchalantly.

Mrs. Scott shot to her feet. If she weren’t so concerned about saving face, she would have lunged forward and given Nina Scott a hard slap across each cheek.

”Nina Scott! So you deliberately got married, and deliberately didn’t say anything, just to wait for this moment?”

The look she gave Nina Scott was one you’d give a mortal enemy.

Nina Scott admitted freely, ”So what if I did? It was all on purpose. You’re the ones who started bullying me.”

She had deliberately waited for today to announce it in front of everyone.

’She had been dreaming of this moment for a long time. It felt so damn good!’

Everyone was miserable. She was the only one who was happy.

”You... you...” Mrs. Scott’s hands were trembling.

Nina Scott even picked up her chopsticks; she was the only person there who could still eat.

She quickly took a couple of bites and drank a glass of water. After talking so much, she was thirsty.

”Don’t just stand there. Is no one going to eat? In that case, don’t mind if I do.”

’Nina Scott was so shameless! How could she possibly have an appetite at a time like this?’

”Nina Scott, I was only doing this for your own good! I chose a good family for you so that you wouldn’t have to suffer later in life, but you insisted on marrying that pauper!”

Nina Scott retorted, ”You don’t have to trouble yourself on my account. Besides, I grew up in the countryside for over a decade; my life hasn’t exactly been comfortable all these years. Since you think marrying him means a life without hardship, why don’t you marry him?”

Nina Scott continued eating, enjoying the show.

Soon, she’d had her fill.

”I’m full. The rest of you, take your time.” She put down her chopsticks, ready to leave.

”Stop right there!” Mrs. Scott roared. ”You think you can just walk out of here?”

’Nina Scott was just too audacious. It was all my fault for being too lenient with her, for spoiling her rotten. That’s why she’s so utterly lawless now. I have to teach her a lesson.’

’With the way Nina is now, even if I beat her so badly she couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks, it wouldn’t be going too far!’

’This time, I’m going to teach her a proper lesson!’
