Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”What’s your name, little one?” the old master asked Nina Scott with a cheerful smile.

”Grandfather, you’ve really misunderstood,” Nina Scott tried to explain.

The old master said, ”There’s no misunderstanding. Grandpa is just asking for your name.”

”My name is Nina Scott.”

”Nina Scott, what a lovely name. So, when are you and our Miles planning to get married?”

Miles Mercer: ”...”

Nina Scott: ”...”

”Grandfather, I actually have a ton of flaws. Just smell me—I reek of alcohol. I’m a drunk!”

Old Master Mercer said, ”Young people are under a lot of pressure these days. It’s normal to have a drink now and then. I support it.”

Nina Scott was surprised by how open-minded the old master was. She added, ”I have a bad temper, and I hit people.”

The old master said, ”A girl should be spoiled. If you get angry, it must be Miles Mercer’s fault. So hit him. Beat him to death!”

”I’m also lazy. I never do housework. My place is always a total mess.”

That was even less of a problem for the old master. ”No problem. We have plenty of maids at home anyway. You can make a mess wherever you like, and someone will always be right behind you to clean it up.”

”I... I... I’m also poor! I have tens of millions in debt!”

”Perfect. Take this card. The money in it should be enough to pay off your debts, with plenty to spare. If it’s not enough, just come ask Grandpa. The one thing our Mercer Family doesn’t lack is money!”

Nina Scott: ”...”

She was defeated. She had listed every flaw she could invent, yet the old master didn’t dislike her at all.

Of course, none of it was true. While she did drink, she knew her limits. Her temper was actually fine, except when she witnessed an injustice, which tended to set her off. Her home was very tidy, and far from being in debt, she wasn’t short on money at all.

Listening from the side, Miles Mercer became even more convinced that he couldn’t be with a woman like this!

’Her grandfather is actually quite endearing,’ Nina thought. ’It’s just a shame I’m not destined to be part of the Mercer Family.’

Nina Scott quickly said, ”Grandfather, I have things to attend to at home, so I won’t disturb your family reunion any longer. I’ll be going now.”

”Third Master Mercer, your girlfriend is leaving. Aren’t you going to see her out?” Old Master Mercer said with a straight face.

”Grandpa, I already told you, she’s not my girlfriend.”

”How can a grown man like you not take responsibility for his actions? How about this? I’ll go to her family tomorrow to propose marriage. Then we’ll see if she’s your girlfriend or not!”

Miles Mercer didn’t dare say another word. If his grandfather actually went to the Scott Family, the truth would come out. After all, to the Scott Family, he really *was* Nina Scott’s boyfriend.

Since Miles Mercer hadn’t been drinking, he resigned himself to his fate and went to see her out.

After they left, Ivy Sherwood gave her grandfather a thumbs-up. ”Grandfather, you’re a total boss.”

”Ivy, you kept such a big secret from your grandfather. I really thought your brothers were all alone. This is great. Your eldest brother has a fiancée, your third brother has a girlfriend... now we just need to find someone for your second brother. I can finally rest easy.”

”Grandfather, what about me?”

”You? You’re not to be rushed. You’re Grandfather’s precious little girl. You just stay right here by my side. If any little bastard dares to have ideas about you, watch me break his legs!” her grandfather said sternly.

Ivy Sherwood instantly felt that Quentin Blackwood was in trouble.

”Grandfather, actually... I have a boyfriend too.”

”Who? Who’s trying to steal our Ivy away now?” Her grandfather’s anger flared up instantly. He wouldn’t allow it!

Back then, he hadn’t kept a close enough eye on Winter, and she had returned covered in scars. Now Ivy was following in her footsteps, hurt and wounded, forced to lick her wounds all by herself while carrying a little one on her own.

But now, Ivy Sherwood had a family. Things were different. Not just anyone could bully her anymore.

”If I tell you, you have to promise not to get angry,” Ivy Sherwood said, trying to preempt his reaction.

Her grandfather said, ”As long as it’s not that... what’s-his-name... Quentin Blackwood, Grandpa won’t be angry with anyone else. Go on, tell me.”

Ivy Sherwood suddenly found it hard to speak. ”Grandfather, why are you so hostile toward Quentin Blackwood?”

”After how he treated you before, it wouldn’t be too much even if I had him cut into a thousand pieces! If he dares to bother you again, you just tell Grandfather, and I’ll send people to assassinate him!”

Ivy Sherwood: ”...”

”Ivy, tell Grandfather. Who is your boyfriend?”

Ivy Sherwood said, ”He’s... he’s a bit shy. Maybe I’ll tell you some other time.”

”In that case, how about Grandfather stays here with you for a couple of days to keep you company?”

”Of course! Grandfather, you can stay as long as you want!”

Ivy Sherwood also grabbed her phone and sent a message to Quentin Blackwood, telling him not to come over for the next few days. If her grandfather saw him, he would definitely chase him with a kitchen knife.

”Then this weekend, how about you take Grandfather out and about?”

Ivy Sherwood remembered her promise to Quentin Blackwood. She said, ”Grandfather, I already have plans with someone this weekend.”

”What a coincidence. Well, that’s alright. Grandfather can entertain himself.”

When Quentin Blackwood saw the message, he had a bad feeling. He couldn’t shake the sense that he wouldn’t be able to see Ivy Sherwood for a long time.

”What about your promise to go out on the water with me this weekend?”

Ivy Sherwood replied, ”I’m sorry, can we reschedule?”

’Grandfather looks so pitiful.’

Through the screen, Ivy Sherwood couldn’t see Quentin Blackwood’s disappointment. It took him a while to reply: ”It’s okay. I’ll wait for you. Just let me know when you’re free.”

If Ivy Sherwood wasn’t happy to go out with him that day, his proposal would be meaningless.

He could wait. He would wait for the right moment.

”I’m really sorry.”

”What is there to apologize for? With me, you never have to apologize.”

Seeing Quentin Blackwood’s message, Ivy Sherwood felt even more guilty. She had already agreed, but she never expected her grandfather to show up so suddenly.

Ivy Sherwood sent a hugging emoji, and Quentin Blackwood replied, ”Then you’ll have to make it up to me later.”

At the mention of making it up to him, Ivy Sherwood shivered. ”Can we change the method of compensation? For example, I could cook for you!”

”Nope. But you can owe me. You’ll make it up to me in the future.”

’I have no idea how many debts I’ve racked up with him,’ Ivy Sherwood thought. ’Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound.’

Her grandfather was staying at Ivy Sherwood’s place that night, so Ivy prepared the guest room for him.

The next day, she spent her time with her grandfather and didn’t see Quentin Blackwood.

That evening, she received a message from Quentin Blackwood: ”I miss you.”

Even though it had only been two days since they last saw each other, Ivy Sherwood found that she missed him a little too.

”Is your grandfather asleep? Can I come see you for a moment?” another message from Quentin Blackwood quickly followed.

The pain of longing was too much to bear.

Quentin Blackwood was downstairs right now. Even if he couldn’t see Ivy Sherwood, just looking at her home was enough.

”No, Grandfather isn’t asleep yet!”

Ivy Sherwood was sitting there while her grandfather watched TV. He was wide awake at night, probably because his jet lag hadn’t worn off yet.

It was already midnight, but her grandfather showed no signs of being sleepy.

Her grandfather even looked over at Ivy Sherwood. ”Ivy, it’s already midnight. Aren’t you going to bed?”

”I’m not tired yet, Grandfather.”

She even felt an urge to go downstairs and take out the trash.
