Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”Dad, let me help you upstairs to rest.” With that, Anna Nash helped Caleb Blackwood up the stairs.

When they reached the room, Anna Nash pretended to slip and fall, throwing herself directly into Caleb Blackwood’s arms.

Her hand landed right on *that place* on Caleb Blackwood.

Anna Nash had deliberately worn perfume, and her scent was deeply seductive.

Although Caleb Blackwood had had too much to drink, he wasn’t completely drunk.

With the woman’s fragrant scent enveloping him and Anna Nash’s deliberate seduction, he was quickly aroused. He had been too busy lately to find any release.

He didn’t know who the woman in his arms was, but he wanted her.

With a single motion, he flipped her over and pinned her beneath him, easily tearing her clothes to shreds. Anna Nash offered herself up to Caleb Blackwood, and a sordid, hazy passion filled the room.

The next morning, after a chaotic night, Caleb Blackwood awoke to discover the woman in his arms was none other than his own daughter-in-law.

What had happened last night was self-evident.

Caleb Blackwood immediately raised his hand and slapped her across the face. ”Slut!”

The slap startled Anna Nash awake. She began to cry. ”Dad, you were drunk last night! I struggled, but it was no use! Dad, how can you blame me for this?”

”Get out!” Veins throbbed on Caleb Blackwood’s forehead. He had never imagined something so outrageous could happen.

Anna Nash got out of bed, deliberately stumbling as she did so. She wanted Caleb Blackwood to see the marks on her body, and she intentionally let him see her figure. In that regard, she was very confident.

’I’m definitely much better than that old, faded hag,’ she thought. ’I refuse to believe Caleb Blackwood won’t be tempted.’

Anna Nash quickly left. Caleb Blackwood was livid. He had long known Anna Nash was trouble, but to think he had actually been schemed against by her!

...

Ivy Sherwood arrived at the Blackwood estate early that morning. She needed to see Caleb Blackwood about a few things concerning her mother and Quentin Blackwood’s mother.

She didn’t believe her mother could have murdered someone, so she had to investigate the matter thoroughly. Caleb Blackwood surely knew something.

But the Blackwood family’s butler said the master was still resting and asked her to wait.

Still resting at this hour? Ivy Sherwood suspected it was a lie.

She couldn’t wait any longer. She decided to head straight upstairs.

However, just as she reached the staircase, she saw a naked Anna Nash emerging from a room down the hall.

Anna Nash was also stunned when she saw Ivy Sherwood. For a moment, she wasn’t sure what was more shocking: being caught in this state, or the sight of Ivy Sherwood’s face.

Ivy Sherwood frowned, taking in the marks all over Anna Nash’s body. As a woman of the world, she was no stranger to what they implied.

In her current state, Anna Nash couldn’t possibly speak with Ivy Sherwood, so she darted back into her own room.

The butler hurried up behind her. ”Miss Sherwood, you can’t go up.”

Having had ties to the Blackwood family before, Ivy Sherwood knew exactly whose room Anna Nash had just exited.

Anna Nash had come out of Caleb Blackwood’s room. Those two...

Ivy Sherwood could hardly fathom it. She had truly underestimated Anna Nash’s ruthlessness. But now, it was clear that Anna Nash had just handed her more leverage.

”Go tell Caleb Blackwood I’ll give him five minutes. If he’s not down here by then, the story of who he spent last night with might just spread.”

Ivy Sherwood returned downstairs. She wasn’t in a hurry, nor was she worried about what Caleb Blackwood might do to her. Her three brothers were waiting outside, serving as her personal security.

Sure enough, Caleb Blackwood came downstairs in less than five minutes.

Caleb Blackwood looked at Ivy Sherwood, his eyes filled with stunned admiration. ”You’re Ivy Sherwood?”

He knew Ivy Sherwood had been hiding her appearance, but he never expected her to be so beautiful.

”Uncle Blackwood, it’s been a long time.” And indeed, it had been a very long time since she’d last seen him.

The Caleb Blackwood from before had been well-preserved, a handsome middle-aged man. But the Caleb Blackwood of today looked as if he had suddenly aged a dozen years, his face haggard and his hair streaked with white.

”Ivy Sherwood, you still dare to show your face here?” Seeing her, Caleb Blackwood felt a sudden urge to strangle her.

”Why wouldn’t I dare? There was never any grudge between you and me, was there, Uncle Blackwood? I’m just here today to make a deal.”

Caleb Blackwood stared at the woman before him. Ivy Sherwood had changed so much. Her face was like that of an ice queen, and the weakness she once had was gone. She seemed to radiate an aura of confidence.

’How long has it been?’ he thought. ’She’s become so formidable.’

”What exactly do you want?”

”I know about the Blackwood Group’s current situation. You’re being crushed by the Mercer Family, and you must be struggling to breathe. I can get the Mercer Family to back off, and I can even give you a substantial amount of money. But you must tell me the truth: what happened between my mother and Quentin Blackwood’s mother? How did Quentin Blackwood’s mother really die?”

”Impossible!” Caleb Blackwood refused outright.

’There’s no way I’m talking about that.’

’I was the one who had Quentin Blackwood’s mother killed, all for that half of the Jade Pendant and the marriage contract. If I tell Ivy, Quentin is sure to find out.’

’And when Quentin makes his move, I’ll be a dead man for sure.’

Ivy Sherwood narrowed her eyes. Caleb Blackwood’s refusal had been swift and decisive, and judging by his expression, there was a huge secret behind it all.

Thinking about the kind of man Caleb Blackwood was, Ivy Sherwood said bluntly, ”You don’t want to talk about it. Does that mean you were involved?”

A flash of surprise crossed Caleb Blackwood’s eyes. He didn’t expect Ivy Sherwood to guess so quickly.

Seeing his reaction, Ivy Sherwood knew she was right.

Caleb Blackwood usually wore his mask well, but perhaps because of the immense pressure he was under, his facade was so fragile that the cracks were obvious.

”Don’t spout nonsense!” Caleb Blackwood blustered, his guilt showing.

”You know perfectly well whether I’m spouting nonsense or not. Even if you stay silent, do you really think a family as powerful as the Mercers will let my mother take the fall for this? I’m giving you a chance. If you confess, I won’t pursue the matter. My offer for the Mercer Family to leave you alone still stands. Furthermore, I will guarantee that Silas Blackwood never finds out about you and Anna Nash. Otherwise... a father sleeping with his daughter-in-law... Do you think the Blackwood family name can survive another round of viral headlines?”

”Ivy Sherwood, are you threatening me?” Caleb Blackwood’s gaze sharpened.

”This isn’t a threat. Think of it as a transaction.”

Caleb Blackwood’s eyes were locked on Ivy Sherwood. ”Tell me, if I were to kidnap you and threaten the Mercer Family, do you think they would let me off?”

Ivy Sherwood replied, ”You’re welcome to try. My three brothers are right outside. If I don’t walk out of here today, you’ll never walk out of anywhere again. You’re a smart man, Caleb Blackwood. You know what to do.”

Caleb Blackwood clenched his fists tightly. ’I should have killed her when she was just a child! Then none of this would be happening now!’
