Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Nina Scott waited anxiously outside, not knowing what was happening inside.

’She was extremely nervous, too. In the end, it was all that heartless, disloyal man’s fault.’

’Why is it always the woman who gets the short end of the stick in these situations? The woman endures the pain, and if there are any long-term effects, she has to bear those, too. And the man? All he has to do is enjoy himself. It’s so unfair!’

’Nina Scott mentally cursed Quentin Blackwood out, but Ivy just had to protect that man, refusing to let her tell him any of this. The more Nina thought about it, the more she felt that Ivy was being wronged.’

Nina Scott thought for a moment. Waiting here was unbearable, especially thinking about Ivy suffering inside.

She decided to go downstairs for a walk. To her surprise, she actually ran into that narcissistic guy!

She had no intention of greeting him and was about to just walk away, but Miles Mercer spoke first.

”What are you doing here? Stalking me?”

”Stalking my ass! I was here first, okay? Why isn’t it you stalking me?”

”Why would I ever stalk you?” Miles thought this woman was getting more and more ridiculous.

”Then why would I stalk you? For what? Because you’re old, or because you’re a narcissist?”

”You...” Miles was no match for Nina Scott in an argument.

”Why are you at the hospital?” Miles asked anyway. He knew she was his little sister’s best friend.

”None of your business. Get out of the way. A good dog doesn’t block the path!”

Miles: ”...”

’This woman really is hopeless.’ He didn’t want to exchange another word with her.

Miles had come to the hospital to investigate something. After all, Caleb Blackwood’s medical fraud case had wide-reaching implications, and the director of that hospital had already been arrested.

Unfortunately, the director refused to confess, much less implicate Caleb Blackwood. Miles had no idea what kind of methods Caleb Blackwood had used.

Miles quickly headed off. Nina Scott had just paced around for a bit when she saw Ivy Sherwood coming downstairs.

”Ivy!” Nina Scott hurried over.

’That was way too fast.’ Less than twenty minutes had passed from start to finish.

And why was Ivy Sherwood down here all by herself? People said recovering from this kind of procedure was like the postpartum confinement period—you had to rest well, or it could lead to chronic health problems.

”Are you done already? What did the doctor say?”

Ivy Sherwood shook her head. ”I... I still want to have him.”

”What? Are you out of your mind, Ivy? That bastard is treating you like this, and you’re still going to have his child?!” Nina felt it was a huge loss, a complete ripoff.

Ivy Sherwood had already gone into the operating room, but before the anesthesia was administered, she had a change of heart.

The doctor said the baby was already three months along and had a heartbeat. Then, they showed her on the monitor.

She saw the tiny life moving, as if it were waving at her.

The thought that he was so innocent, while she was like a cruel executioner... Then she thought of the cute little boy and his mother she’d met downstairs. So many people in the world desperately wanted a child but couldn’t have one no matter how hard they tried.

Ivy Sherwood then thought of her own mother, who had given birth to her under such difficult circumstances. After that, she just couldn’t go through with the procedure and fled at the last minute.

Ivy Sherwood nodded. ”Yes, I’ve thought this through carefully. I’m going to have this baby. It has nothing to do with who his father is.”

This was a decision Ivy Sherwood had made with careful consideration; she wasn’t being impulsive.

Then, Ivy Sherwood went to see the doctor again. The doctor went over several precautions with her, told her to come in for regular prenatal check-ups, and reminded her that she absolutely must not use makeup anymore, as the chemical ingredients could affect the baby.

’In other words, I probably won’t be able to disguise my face for a long time.’

’But that’s okay. If I can’t wear makeup, then I won’t.’

As for the baby, she would find a suitable time to tell the Mercer Family.

”If you’ve really thought it through, then I support all of your decisions!”

”Thank you, Nina!”

”What are you thanking me for? I didn’t do anything. Don’t expect me to help you raise the kid later. I am *not* changing diapers!” Nina Scott said, pretending to be angry.

Ivy Sherwood knew Nina Scott was just joking, but she was still very happy.

Even though it was her first time becoming a mother, Ivy Sherwood felt she could raise a child well. No one is born a mother, after all.

”Alright then, let’s go home.” Nina Scott linked her arm with Ivy’s.

”Wait, I have one more thing to do.” Ivy Sherwood went over and asked for the name of the child she had bumped into earlier. Then, she went to the payment counter and directly deposited three million into the child’s account.

She didn’t know if this money would be enough to save the child, but if she hadn’t met him, she might not have been so determined to keep her own baby.

Besides, that little boy was so adorable, and she hoped he could overcome his illness and live a good life. If he had to leave this world because his family gave up on treatment due to a lack of money, how painful would that be for parents who loved him so much?

So, since Ivy Sherwood felt she could help, she wanted to do what she could.

Just as she finished paying, Miles Mercer, who was on the other side of the room, had also finished his business and was preparing to leave.

Seeing Ivy Sherwood, Miles was surprised. ”Ivy, what are you doing here?”

”I... uh...” For a moment, Ivy Sherwood didn’t know how to explain.

She never expected to run into Miles Mercer here. So, Ivy Sherwood asked first, ”Third Brother, what are you doing here?”

”I came here to take care of some business. What are you doing here?”

”I... I came with Nina!” Ivy Sherwood wasn’t ready to tell the Mercer Family about her pregnancy yet. She wanted to wait until she figured out how to say it and find the right opportunity, so for now, she used Nina as an excuse.

This way, Miles didn’t seem to suspect anything. ”By the way, Little Sis, Grandpa heard there’s a resort over here that’s supposed to be very nice and extremely popular. He doesn’t want to stay in a hotel, so he booked rooms there and wants to stay for a while. Little Sis, why don’t you come join us?”

Ivy Sherwood: ”!!”

’The resort... Quentin Blackwood’s resort!’

”What’s wrong, Little Sis?” Miles noticed that Ivy Sherwood’s expression was off.

Ivy Sherwood shook her head. ”It’s nothing. Have Grandpa and the others already gone over?”

Miles nodded. ”Yes, they’re getting ready to go now.”

Sure enough, a moment later, Ivy Sherwood’s phone rang. It was her grandfather, inviting her to the resort.

Having just been reunited with her family, her grandfather was very eager to spend more time with her. Ivy Sherwood definitely couldn’t refuse, so she had no choice but to agree.

Then Ivy Sherwood looked at Nina Scott. ”Nina, do you want to come with us?”

Nina Scott shook her head. ”It’s a family reunion. Why would I go and be a third wheel? Besides, it’s the end of the year, and I’m swamped with work. You guys have fun!”

「Meanwhile, at Aethelgard Airport」

Joy Sheridan boarded a plane to Lustre.

Quentin Blackwood also received a message: ”President Blackwood, Miss Sheridan just boarded a plane to Lustre.”

”Lustre?” Quentin Blackwood’s brows furrowed tightly. ’What is Joy Sheridan trying to do?!’
