Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

In Joy Sheridan’s eyes, Quentin Blackwood had always been an ascetic figure. He was lofty and remote, a holy prodigy who knew nothing of love or desire.

But the Quentin at this moment was wild, a beast.

He was holding another woman; he was kissing another woman.

What Joy Sheridan had originally imagined was Quentin holding her, his hand on her waist.

But now, all of it was happening with another woman.

Joy Sheridan was frantic with jealousy. She wanted nothing more than to rush over and tear that woman to shreds.

’But where did Quentin find this woman? Could it be that he was on the road, realized he’d been drugged, and just called for one of *those* women?’

’Why else would he bring her to a hotel instead of taking her home?’

Joy Sheridan was certain that was it. ’Quentin needs release right now, and it’s the perfect time for me to go to him.’

She still couldn’t see the woman’s face, as it was completely blocked by Quentin’s tall frame. Just as Joy was about to approach, she saw something familiar on the woman’s struggling arm.

It was...

Quentin’s Buddha Beads!

Joy Sheridan couldn’t believe it. The woman being pressed down and kissed by Quentin was actually wearing his Buddha Beads?

The one thing he never let anyone else so much as touch was now on another person’s wrist.

This meant she was definitely not some random woman Quentin had picked up off the street.

It was as if a bucket of ice water had been dumped over Joy Sheridan. She stared blankly at the scene. Just as Quentin noticed her, she saw the woman’s face.

It was Ivy Sherwood!

Quentin had actually given his Buddha Beads to Ivy Sherwood...

It felt like a knife had been plunged into Joy Sheridan’s heart. All her hard work had just been to pave the way for someone else.

’He must have known all along that the drink was drugged and drank it on purpose. That bastard Quentin is so cruel. Is he putting on this show just to punish me? It’s not enough to kill someone; he has to destroy their spirit, too.’

’He can always crush a person’s spirit with the simplest of methods. No wonder everyone says Quentin is a devil.’

Quentin had already seen her. His gaze was savage, turning into daggers of ice.

”Get out!” His voice was utterly cold.

Just then, someone else came up from the adjacent elevator. ”Miss, this is a private area. Please leave.”

Joy Sheridan felt as if she’d been plunged into an ice cellar. She didn’t struggle as she was led away.

Ivy Sherwood shrank into Quentin’s arms. ’Was that just Joy Sheridan?’

Although nothing had happened between her and Quentin yet—their clothes were even still intact, they had only been kissing—she still felt uneasy about being seen by someone else.

After Joy Sheridan was taken away, Quentin swept Ivy Sherwood up into his arms.

”Ah!” Ivy Sherwood cried out, reflexively wrapping her arms around Quentin’s neck.

Quentin, however, simply took out a key card and swiped open a random room door.

This floor was for presidential suites. There weren’t many rooms, but each one was enormous.

The moment they were inside, Quentin set her down on a nearby table and kissed her lips again.

But the kiss didn’t last long before he pulled away.

”Distracted?”

Ivy Sherwood’s eyes were still clear as she said, ”Joy Sheridan just saw us.”

”So she saw us.” Quentin didn’t care in the slightest.

”Why are you so hot?” Ivy placed the back of her hand on Quentin’s forehead.

She felt Quentin’s temperature was off. His breath was hotter than usual, though he was still strong enough to lift her with one arm.

”I was drugged.” Quentin’s voice was even deeper than usual.

”What?” A flash of surprise appeared in Ivy’s eyes. ”By Joy Sheridan?”

The corners of his eyes were a little red. ”I can’t hold back anymore. And right now, you’re my only antidote.”

Ivy Sherwood: ”...”

’How could she have known her timing would be so coincidental? How did she just stumble into becoming Quentin’s antidote?’

’And given the state Quentin was in, was it too late for her to run?’

”I don’t—mmph...”

Before she could finish, her words were cut off by Quentin, leaving no chance for refusal.

...

「Downstairs」

Joy Sheridan was escorted out. Though it was a sweltering day, she felt nothing but an intense chill.

The scene she had just witnessed kept replaying in her mind: Quentin and Ivy...

’Why? On what grounds!’

The one thing she yearned for, the one thing she couldn’t touch, had been so easily obtained by Ivy Sherwood.

’Why Ivy and not her?’

Joy Sheridan didn’t understand. She had been stunned into a stupor just now, but having come to her senses, she wanted to go back inside. However, she was blocked and couldn’t get in.

All she could do was stand outside and look up at the floor above. The thought of what Quentin and Ivy were doing in that room was worse than death. It felt like a hand was squeezing her neck, suffocating her.

Silas Blackwood had told her before that Quentin and Ivy were together, but she hadn’t really believed him. She had assumed that even if Quentin was with Ivy, with a face like that, he was just playing around.

But when she saw the Buddha Beads, Joy Sheridan realized that Ivy’s place in his heart seemed to have become insurmountable.

’What’s so good about her that would make Quentin go to such lengths?’

Joy Sheridan went to a bar by herself and immediately ordered a lot of drinks.

She had deliberately worn a very revealing outfit today to make it easy for Quentin to undress her, but things had turned out like this.

At the thought of Quentin, Joy poured more alcohol down her throat.

After a few drinks, she took out her phone and called Silas Blackwood.

The call connected quickly. ”Hello?”

Silas Blackwood’s tone wasn’t great. His own situation was a complete mess right now.

”Silas, do you know what Quentin and Ivy Sherwood are doing right now?”

”I don’t want to know. I’m busy.” Silas didn’t have the energy to deal with this at the moment.

Joy Sheridan had been feeling miserable and wanted to provoke Silas, but she hadn’t expected him to just hang up on her.

Now Joy Sheridan had all this anger with nowhere to vent it. She had drunk a bit too much and her stomach felt queasy, so she headed for the restroom.

But she was staggering and suddenly bumped into a new waitress.

Joy’s ”little princess” temper instantly flared, and she viciously slapped the waitress across the face.

”Are you blind? How dare you bump into me!”

”I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.” The waitress’s face swelled up instantly. With tears welling in her eyes, she didn’t dare say anything else and could only apologize.

”Sorry? Is sorry going to fix it?” After speaking, Joy viciously slapped her again.

The girl flinched away, which only made Joy even angrier. ”You dare to dodge? You little vixen! I’ll beat you to death today! I’ll teach you to seduce Quentin! Don’t you know he’s my man? I love him so much, and he was stolen away by a homewrecker like you.”

”How dare you show your face when you’re so ugly? You ugly woman! Ugly people always cause the most trouble! That face of yours... I’m going to tear it apart!” As she spoke, Joy’s beautifully manicured nails dug viciously into the waitress’s face. She was ruthless, instantly leaving several bloody scratches.
