Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

”Oh, my darling son, what kind of hex did that Ivy Sherwood put on you? Why are you still so obsessed with her? What’s so great about her, anyway?”

”That Ivy Sherwood, and this Anna Nash... I heard they used to be best friends, right? They’re cut from the same cloth. Look at what the two of them have done to my son, and here you are, still thinking about her.”

Mrs. Blackwood felt her heart ache with grief. How could her perfectly good son be ruined by two women?

”Mom, I just can’t swallow this. Ivy Sherwood was my fiancée, and now she’s with Quentin Blackwood. I call him my uncle, and he goes and steals my girlfriend! No matter what, I won’t let them be together!”

”Why should they get to live comfortably while I’m stuck in this hospital? If I’m miserable, they won’t get to be happy either!”

Silas Blackwood shouted in agitation, his fists clenched tightly.

’I remember, Quentin Blackwood has a girlfriend, right? In Aethelgard.’

’If that woman finds out that Ivy Sherwood shamelessly seduced Quentin Blackwood, what would happen?’

’She’d probably come to make trouble for Ivy Sherwood, and all hell would break loose.’

’If he couldn’t be happy, he wouldn’t stand by and watch those two be happy either.’

An idea formed in Silas Blackwood’s mind. He decided to give Ivy Sherwood one more chance. The power was in her hands; it was up to her to choose.

”Mom, can you find out where Ivy Sherwood is? I want to talk to her again. Aren’t her mother’s ashes still with Dad? She’ll definitely agree to be with me. I don’t want to marry that Anna Nash.”

Seeing her son like this, Mrs. Blackwood’s heart ached for him. ”Silas, you... you’re being foolish.”

”Mom, I know what I’m doing. Don’t worry, I’m not a child anymore.”

He was, after all, the apple of her eye. Although she also had Sylvia Blackwood, Mrs. Blackwood’s favorite was undoubtedly Silas Blackwood.

Mrs. Blackwood had someone ask around about Ivy Sherwood’s whereabouts and soon received news: Ivy was also at the hospital.

”I heard Quentin Blackwood was hospitalized too, and Ivy Sherwood is taking care of him.”

”What?” Hearing this, Silas Blackwood nearly jumped out of his skin.

”Quentin Blackwood has the nerve to be hospitalized? Which room is he in? Why is Ivy Sherwood taking care of him instead of me?” Silas Blackwood was like a firecracker that had just been lit.

He threw off his covers and tried to get out of bed to find Ivy Sherwood, completely unstoppable.

Mrs. Blackwood had no choice but to chase after him. ”Silas, Silas...”

...

In Quentin Blackwood’s hospital room, an IV drip was attached to the back of his right hand, making it inconvenient for him to eat. The hand holding the spoon was trembling.

Ivy Sherwood couldn’t bear to watch any longer. She took the spoon from Quentin Blackwood’s hand. ”Let me. Open up.”

Quentin Blackwood opened his mouth and ate the food Ivy Sherwood offered, looking utterly content.

Ivy Sherwood’s movements were gentle. She would blow on the spoonful of congee to cool it before adding a bit of a side dish so it wouldn’t be too bland.

The door to the room was suddenly thrown open violently. Silas Blackwood burst in and saw the scene before him.

Ivy Sherwood and Quentin Blackwood weren’t even trying to hide it from anyone anymore, feeding each other so intimately!

”You... Don’t you two think you’ve gone too far?” Silas Blackwood pointed at them.

He felt a profound sense of betrayal, as if he’d been cuckolded. The thought of the two of them being intimate together made Silas Blackwood’s stomach churn.

His uncle, and his fiancée!

”Silas Blackwood, if you have something to say, let’s take it outside,” Ivy Sherwood said, her face cold. She didn’t want Silas Blackwood to disturb Quentin Blackwood’s rest.

’Besides, she and Silas Blackwood had already broken off the engagement. He had no right to interfere in these matters.’

’And speaking of going too far, didn’t he think his own actions were even worse?’

”Why should we take it outside? You do these shameful things in secret, but you don’t have the guts to admit it?” At this moment, Silas Blackwood was like a rabid dog, ready to bite anyone he could.

On the hospital bed, Quentin Blackwood’s eyes darkened. His voice wasn’t loud, but Silas Blackwood heard him crystal clear. ”Your legs aren’t broken, and your mouth still works, so you can still afford to throw a tantrum in here, is that it?”

Every time Quentin Blackwood spoke, he could feel an immense pressure. Quentin’s words, in particular, sent a shiver through him.

’What does he mean by that? Is he planning to do something to me in secret?’

Silas Blackwood was already paranoid from being ambushed before, and he immediately lost his nerve.

”What kind of skill is threatening people?” Silas Blackwood’s bravado had already weakened considerably.

Quentin Blackwood said, ”If you’ve got the skills, you’re welcome to threaten me.”

Of course, Silas Blackwood didn’t have those skills. If he could have successfully made a move against Quentin Blackwood, he would have done it long ago.

But Quentin Blackwood was different. Forgetting just breaking his arms and legs, even if Quentin wanted to arrange an ”accident” to take his life, he could certainly do it cleanly.

”Ivy Sherwood, I have something to say to you.” A typical bully who preys on the weak and fears the strong, Silas Blackwood couldn’t win against Quentin Blackwood, so he turned to Ivy Sherwood.

Quentin Blackwood held onto Ivy Sherwood, not wanting her to talk to him alone, afraid she would be at a disadvantage.

”Say what you have to say right here.”

However, Ivy Sherwood patted the back of his hand, signaling for Quentin Blackwood to let go.

She said to Silas Blackwood, ”Fine. Let’s talk outside.”

”I’m going too.” Quentin Blackwood tried to get up from the bed.

Ivy Sherwood pushed him back down. ”What are you getting up for? Just lie down. If I come back and find you’re not resting, I won’t come see you tomorrow.”

”What if he tries to hurt you?”

”Aren’t you here? Ask him if he’d dare.”

Silas Blackwood: ”...”

’Can these two stop flirting like no one else is here? He’s still standing right here!’

Silas Blackwood found the scene incredibly jarring. He backed out of the room first. It was better not to watch.

Ivy Sherwood came out soon after. Facing Silas Blackwood, her face was completely devoid of a smile, a stark contrast to how she was with Quentin Blackwood.

”What did you want to say?”

’I knew that since Silas Blackwood was in this hospital, he would find out eventually, but I didn’t expect it to be so soon.’

Silas Blackwood said, ”Ivy Sherwood, I... I really do love you.”

”I was wrong before, I’m sorry. I promise I’ll change from now on. I know you’re just confused by Quentin Blackwood right now and can’t think clearly, but it’s okay. I can forgive you.”

Ivy Sherwood actually laughed. It was the first time she’d ever met someone so shameless. She said, ”Silas Blackwood, did you come here just to say this?”

”If I’m not mistaken, the person you’re supposed to be marrying is Anna Nash, right? She’s carrying your only child.”

Silas Blackwood already had it all figured out. ”Don’t worry. As soon as Anna Nash gives birth to the child, I’ll divorce her. Then I’ll marry you, okay? I don’t like her. Even if I marry her, it’ll just be for show. You can’t have a child for me right now, so I have to secure her child first. But my heart belongs to you.”

”Silas Blackwood, just stop talking. You’re making me sick!” Ivy Sherwood felt like she was about to throw up.

Even though she knew what kind of person Silas Blackwood was, his statements still managed to shatter her perception of reality every single time.

Silas Blackwood’s face turned cold as well. ”Ivy Sherwood, I was doing you a courtesy by trying to talk this out. Don’t forget, your mother’s ashes are still at my house!”
