Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

The two figures were so close, they almost looked like they were kissing, and this scene happened to fall into the eyes of Zion Prescott, who had just arrived at the film crew.

The man’s eyes under the gold-rimmed glasses instantly turned dark as water…

“What are you doing?!”

This angry shout immediately startled the middle-aged advertiser, Howard Prescott, who had intended mischief toward Claire Sinclair. He halted his actions and, rather disappointed, looked towards the door, still cursing under his breath.

“Which little bastard is so blind that they dare ruin my good moment, even if I’m Howard Prescott…”

Just as Howard turned his head, unexpectedly, Zion Prescott’s face came into view.

…

“Zi… Young Master Prescott, why is it you…”

Howard stammered, swallowing hard, almost scared out of his wits.

And Claire Sinclair, who had originally been standing behind him, was also awakened by Howard’s sharp shout.

The woman lifted her eyes, and her gaze instantly met with Zion Prescott, standing at the door.

It’s like they hadn’t seen each other for over a month.

Although that amount of time could neither be considered long nor short, to Claire Sinclair, it seemed like an eternity.

At the parking lot, Zion Prescott had clearly promised her that he would never come to find her again, nor would he disturb her peaceful life with Jude Grant.

…

Whether self-absorbed or simply suspicious, the moment Claire Sinclair saw Zion Prescott, she instinctively lowered her head, not wanting to meet his gaze directly.

Noticing Claire Sinclair’s avoidance, Zion felt a stab of pain in his heart.

It felt like something was blocking his throat. After such a long time without seeing her, he had been trying hard to suppress his urge to inquire about Claire Sinclair, drowning his sorrows in alcohol and using nicotine to numb himself, although he never liked smoking before.

But when he heard about the explosion on the set of “There Are Branches on the Mountain,” he could no longer control his inner desire.

This thought, like bamboo shoots after a spring rain, grew even more exuberantly under suppression.

…

Zion Prescott stared deeply at Claire Sinclair, noticing a few streaks of blood on her fair face, and her arm seemed to have grazes, but they didn’t look serious.

Even so… Zion’s heart ached continuously.

He wasn’t sure if it was because Claire Sinclair was hurt, or because the way she looked at him…

Was as if she was looking at a stranger.

Even worse than a stranger…

Wasn’t it already known that, in this woman’s heart, he was nothing?

Yet, his heart had long been lost in the mire of their interaction.

…

Zion Prescott gave a bitter smile, while the middle-aged advertiser, Howard Prescott, was so startled by Zion’s inexplicable expression that he quickly bowed his head and begged for mercy.

“Young Master Prescott, I really didn’t mean what I said earlier. If I knew you were here, how dare I call myself Prescott? I don’t even deserve to share the same surname as you.”

Howard actually had a somewhat distant familial relation with Zion Prescott.

This relation traced back to their ancestors.

This kind of distant kinship was even farther than the marital ties between Zion and Jude Grant.

Howard also understood that any minor success he had in the business world was due to people deferring to the main Prescott family, and people like him merely got fed like beggars.

…

But Zion Prescott was too lazy to engage with this sleazy man.

He glanced coldly at Howard for a second, vaguely recalling that Howard was a branch family head of the Prescotts, but he was insignificant. Zion didn’t even need to lift a finger to easily crush him.

“Are you also one of the investors in ‘There Are Branches on the Mountain’?”

Upon hearing the word “also,” Howard felt even more terrified.

He swallowed hard again, fearing to be compared to Zion Prescott himself by this minor role he’d taken in.

He gave a sheepish smile, looking extremely ingratiating.

“Young Master Prescott, I know you are also one of the investors, so I begged a relative to get involved. As a result, I bought some marketing ads, contributed a bit financially to the crew, and planned to share in the profits once the movie made big bucks.”

“Big bucks?”

Zion Prescott gave him a half-smile glance.

“What, can you still guarantee that this movie will at least break even?”

“…”

Could it really not break even?

Howard was taken aback. He had worked hard to latch onto the resources of this film.

Why? Because behind this film stood Adrian Law, Felix Lockwood, and himself, these three prominent figures lending their support?

Even putting aside Felix, Adrian Law and Zion Prescott are notable figures, investment trendsetters. Projects they participate in aren’t just about breaking even; they often result in huge profits.

So, those in the know inevitably want to invest and get involved, but lack the connections.

Howard managed to secure an advertiser role only because of his slight connection to Zion Prescott’s main family.

…

Zion Prescott saw Howard still acting so foolishly, and couldn’t help but give him a sympathetic look.

“My sister-in-law is the main writer behind this film, and it’s not even a currently popular genre. So, if you’ve decided to invest, you better enter with the expectation of a loss.”

“Young Master Prescott, are you saying this film is purely made by The Eldest Young Master Law to please his wife?!”

Howard was struck as if by lightning, feeling as if he’d been dumbfounded.

God knows, Adrian Law might spend billions to please his own wife, but not them—they’re here to make money!

Howard was different from others in that he knew Zion Prescott might appear amicable, but in reality, he was a “smiling tiger,” hiding daggers in his sleeves, cunning and ruthless.

So Howard couldn’t believe Zion Prescott would also willingly engage in a losing business.

“Young Master Prescott… then why are you participating in this project? You’re not like The Eldest Young Master Law, having a wife to please?!”

Howard was unwilling to give up. He couldn’t believe the millions he’d invested were going to be wasted.

Purely spending money for fun—he wasn’t that foolish!

…

Zion Prescott indifferently dusted off his fingers.

“Isn’t it fine to be a loyal friend?”

“…”

Howard was completely cut off.

He turned pale as a vegetable, feeling more frantic than before.

“No, I don’t believe it.”

But thinking carefully, it didn’t seem too likely.

Director Chapman, although a commendable director, always invested in proper dramas. For example, the previous film “You are the Sun and Moon in My Heart,” although it sparked significant societal response and discussion upon release, with great acclaim, eventually garnered only a box office of ten billion.

This number sounds substantial, but Director Chapman’s initial investment was six billion. After revenue sharing with the film company and taxes, it was likely barely breaking even, or even at a loss!

Of course, although Director Chapman’s films weren’t smash hits, the awards they garnered at least made up for it…

The more Howard thought about it, the more frightened he became.
