Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Fiona Vaughn staggered back a step, even though she didn’t want to believe it anymore, she vaguely understood that Adrian Law and Cecilia Vaughn had no need to deceive her further.

Just as Cecilia said, from painting to publishing, this series of processes could be investigated and verified. Even without going through prison guards, one could investigate the party behind the publication of ”There are branches on the mountain” and discover the identity behind Seven Leaves.

At that time, no matter what, Fiona could not find out. She thought it was quite simple, believing that she had simply not been chosen for the leading female role in ”There are branches on the mountain”, so the publisher was doing Director Chapman a favor, unwilling to cause extra trouble.

Thinking carefully now, Director Chapman is such a clever and seasoned figure, how could he make such a significant concession for an ordinary little screenwriter, not even willing to do her a personal favor?

Only because the person behind obstructing her wasn’t Chapman, but Cecilia.

...

Having figured out these details, Fiona felt as if countless arrows pierced her heart, tens of thousands of needles stabbed her heart, bleeding from a hundred holes.

”Cecilia Vaughn, hello, you... well done...”

Her eyes glared blood-red, each word spoken as if she were about to vomit something.

Yet Cecilia seemed as if she hadn’t heard any malice.

The woman in simple dress looked at Fiona indifferently, casually leaning toward Adrian Law, her voice cold and devoid of warmth.

”Of course, I’m well.”

”It was thanks to you all that I thought of creating and selling art in prison.”

”What do you mean by that? Do you mean I and Dad still have to support you while you’re in prison?”

Fiona looked at Cecilia in a manic state, wishing she could bite a piece of her flesh off right then.

...

Cecilia mockingly flicked her fingers.

”You may have forgotten, but I really don’t need much money in prison, but what about Evan? He has a heart condition, and you just tossed him in school, how much money for maintenance and treatment fees do you give? If it weren’t for you pushing me to this point, I wouldn’t have asked Mona Summers to find me a job.”

After that prison phone call, Mona was stunned, her first thought was to lend Cecilia some money.

But how many problems can be solved by borrowing money?

Cecilia knew that Mona was a student at that time, working part-time at a publishing house, she wasn’t having it easy, and she couldn’t just dump all her own risks on a friend.

Fortunately, the prison guard who replaced him the following year was very sympathetic to Cecilia, and spent quite some time running around for her publishing matter, and finding leadership to review the manuscript without any issues, agreed it could be published by an external publisher.

The specific manuscript fees were negotiated by Mona.

Cecilia owed Mona a big favor, even though being a comic author, the equivalent of anonymously submitting dimensional information, many publishers were unwilling to assume the risk due to Cecilia being a prisoner, fearing the manuscript content might have issues or fearing Cecilia might not be able to continue stably in this field due to various factors.

Mona ran around pleading for Cecilia with many people, eventually resulting in a leadership agreement where the manuscript fee wasn’t directly determined like usual but was on a commission basis.

If the first edition had no sales, then it extinguished Cecilia’s idea of engaging in this field while in prison.

Perhaps it was heaven’s mercy, and coupled with Cecilia’s talent in comics, for her brother and her own future, she also put in all her effort, her work eventually gained recognition from others.

...

When Cecilia submitted her work, she actually did so with a do-or-die determination.

Because she had a stain of imprisonment, possibly in the future, many organizations would refuse her upon review.

And Cecilia never thought of what else she could do, only wishing to soothe her wounds in a network world where no one recognized her using a virtual identity.

...

Cecilia recalled the numerous difficulties and hardships of the past, yet her eyes held no excitement, those past events were vivid yet seemed as distant as a past lifetime.

Now, she has a legitimate job, able to stand on Stellerton University’s campus, become a formal art student, these all seem like heavenly gifts, things she didn’t dare to imagine half a year ago.

Cecilia looked at Fiona lightly, all bitterness was transformed into mockery in the end.

”Perhaps I should thank you and Tyson Law, as well as my ’dear father,’ for making me understand how hard one can strive in dire straits.”

”Everything I have today is all thanks to you.”

...

Fiona was so angry she nearly spat blood.

She was already distracted, now taking several breaths in quick succession, finally unable to bear it anymore, fainting into Rosalind White’s arms.

Seeing Fiona fake a faint or maybe truly faint, Cecilia was not eager to let her off the hook.

She remembered chatting with Teacher Fletcher online, knowing he, due to occasional breathing difficulties, keeps instant heart rescue pills handy.

”Teacher Fletcher, could you feed her a pill?”

Desmond Fletcher glanced at Cecilia with a mix of humor and speechlessness, knowing Cecilia’s willful nature, but seeing her attitude now, he felt somewhat inexplicably sympathetic towards Fiona.

Of course, it was just sympathy for Fiona becoming Cecilia’s enemy.

As for everything Fiona did, Desmond Fletcher understood it and felt whatever fate befell her was well-deserved.

...

Having been fed a pill and followed by half a glass of water, Fiona finally dizzily blinked awake.

Her once beautiful face now lacked its previous energy, appearing instead extremely weary and pale.

Cecilia looked at Fiona indifferently, stepping with boots, gazing down on the woman on the verge of collapse.

”How is it, do you regret it now?”

Regret what?

Regret hooking up with Tyson Law?

Or regretting not directly having Cecilia killed in prison?

Fiona harbored extreme hatred in her heart, but her mouth spoke timidly.

”Sister, I don’t understand what you’re saying...”

...

Seeing her so fond of acting, Cecilia simply didn’t bother with her anymore.

At the friendly performing arts event between Stellerton University and Vesperia’s Ivy League School, this incident occurred, spectators were deeply amazed.

However, once Fiona regained consciousness, everything had to proceed.

Fiona was arranged to the VIP seat, and Mr. Adams personally came over to show concern.

Seeing this scene, Cecilia vaguely understood the conclusion in her heart.

...

After all performances were concluded, Mr. Adams stood up to announce the final results of all the performances.

”First place is the joint performance of ’Butterfly Lovers’ by Fiona Vaughn and Miss Rosalind White! Second place is Miss Cecilia Vaughn’s ’Life’! Third place is the group dance ’Rising Sun’. ”

”This time’s youth friendship ambassador recommended by Vesperia is also Fiona Vaughn! Let us congratulate this angelic girl!”
