Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

On the weekend, the weather was pleasant, and the temperature in Stellerton, usually piercingly cold and below zero, had unusually risen to over ten degrees.

All of this seemed to subtly suggest that this Lockwood Auction would be held successfully.

Despite this, Cecilia Vaughn was not very interested in the auction. Although she had never attended such events, she knew it was a place that burned through money, coincidentally, Cecilia was not very attached to material desires.

As long as she had a roof over her head and three meals a day, Cecilia was quite content.

Conversely, Cecilia thought Adrian Law was a genuine spendthrift, spending money like water more than women do. However, his ability to earn money was also top-notch, so Cecilia could only look on in disbelief.

She didn’t want to admit that, for instance, the Spring Thunder Guqin Adrian had bought for her for a hefty sum made her feel a pinch, although whenever she played with it, she was very much attached to it.

It was a classic case of saying no but acting otherwise...

...

As the auction time approached, Adrian Law had already changed early into a black and white checkered suit. He went up to the study only to find Cecilia still typing away furiously on her laptop.

”Cecilia, what’s up? Not getting changed yet?”

Adrian raised an eyebrow in surprise and walked over to see Cecilia seemingly chatting with someone in a chat window.

Cecilia looked up and glanced at Adrian, a bit embarrassed.

”Adrian... maybe I should skip it. Director Chapman heard I could play the guqin, so he wants to entrust me with the film’s theme song. Honestly, I know I lack fame and skill, but since ’There are branches on the mountain’ has been my work for years, I couldn’t resist and agreed.”

”...”

Adrian couldn’t help but chuckle silently. He extended a long, jade-like finger and gently tapped Cecilia on the head.

”Silly Cecilia, are you intending to hide in the room and focus on composing the theme song now?”

”Is it not okay?”

Cecilia feigned pain as she shrank back her head, quickly reaching out to catch Adrian’s wrist.

”Cecilia, composing requires inspiration too. You might not get results racking your brains at home every day. Why not come with me to check out Felix’s auction?”

”...”

Cecilia stuck out her tongue: ”I really have no interest in those treasures and antiques, you know that, aside from the Purple Moon Charm left by your mother, I rarely even wear my wedding ring.”

”Alright, alright, if you really take a fancy to something and find it special, you can bring it home, I won’t refuse, how’s that?”

Adrian wasn’t upset to hear that Cecilia usually kept her wedding ring stored away collecting dust. Instead, his thin lips slightly curled into a faint smile.

”So, my dear wife, have you ever thought about bidding on a collection for me instead of just thinking about receiving gifts?”

”...” Cecilia was stunned, her face flushing with embarrassment: ”You’re right.”

She had been married to Adrian for a while now, but aside from giving him a red scarf and a few trinkets, she hadn’t bought him anything significant.

Cecilia of course understood Adrian wasn’t saying this because he wanted a gift, but he wanted her to come along to support Felix. However, thinking about all the days since their marriage, though she hadn’t received gifts continuously, Adrian always bought her suitable things whenever he saw them.

Reflecting on herself...

The more Cecilia thought about it, the more sheepish she felt. Blushing, she gently tapped her fingers together and then carefully climbed up Adrian’s sleeve.

”Alright, alright, Mr. Law, I’ll accompany you to the auction, okay?”

Seeing Cecilia finally agree, the man let out a low laugh in his throat, wrapped his arms around Cecilia’s head, and planted a possessive kiss on her brow.

”Mrs. Law, just attending isn’t enough.”

”You really do want a gift, huh?”

Cecilia clicked her tongue, looking at Adrian in disbelief: ”But I barely know what you like... maybe... maybe you should just tell me what you want when you see it, and I’ll buy it, how about that?”

”No.”

The man shook his head haughtily.

Just then, Mimi ran over, swiftly climbing onto Cecilia’s knee.

”Meow...”

The adorable white lion cat blinked its one green and one blue eye, persistently acting cute at Cecilia and Adrian.

”See, even Mimi came over to ask for a gift.”

”Nonsense... it’s just hungry.”

Cecilia glared at Adrian speechlessly. Since Adrian wouldn’t say what he wanted, she was even more troubled.

She wasn’t one to prioritize grand gestures, but indeed, whenever she received Adrian’s unexpected gifts, her heart always leaped with a small joy. This might just be the romantic nature of a woman.

Now that she was the one giving, and the other side wouldn’t set a range, Cecilia now understood the troubles men have.

Fine, at worst she’ll just give whatever and not believe Adrian would reject it.

...

With this decision made, Cecilia quickly went to the dressing room, picked out an orange-red long dress with a snow-white rabbit-fur coat over it, fluffy balls hanging down, making her look adorably cute with a touch of girlish playfulness amidst refinement.

And when Adrian took in Cecilia’s appearance, a predatory gleam flashed in his eye.

He extended his arms to hold her.

”Cecilia, I really want to gobble you up.”

”...”

Seeing the dark depths of Adrian’s eyes, Cecilia naturally understood what corrupt thoughts were brewing in Adrian’s mind, making her gaze both shy and annoyed.

”Go away, we agreed to go to the auction, no funny business.”

Adrian smiled slightly, unable to resist sliding his hand under Cecilia’s sweater, giving the girl’s collarbone a gentle pinch.

”You, big, rascal!”

Seeing Adrian was about to go further, Cecilia suddenly blushed and hurriedly reached out to stop Adrian’s actions.

”If we don’t get the car now, we’ll be late...”

”I’ll deal with you when we get back.”

The man smiled meaningfully, watching Cecilia’s blushing ears, his throat shifted involuntarily.

The snowy-white bunny-like coat was still hand-picked by Adrian himself, he thought it’d look great on his little wife, now that he actually saw it, he was reluctant to let her out to be seen.

...

In the car, Adrian couldn’t resist stealing a kiss on Cecilia’s cheek. Together, laughing and joking, they arrived late at the auction venue.

On the red carpet, many guests had already entered one after another.

Adrian went to park the car, and when Cecilia took out the invitation to go through security, a faintly surprised male voice suddenly came from behind.

”Classmate Vaughn, were you also invited to the auction?”
