Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

The next day was the day of Director Chapman and the male and female leads of ”There are branches on the mountain” holding a clarification press conference together. Cecilia Vaughn decided not to attend to maintain her cover.

She timely opened her computer and clicked on the live streaming channel.

Soon, the screen displayed a handsome man and a beautiful woman.

It was Claire Sinclair and the male lead Kane Hale.

Both had changed into costumes, but Claire Sinclair was not wearing male attire; instead, she wore the female prisoner outfit from the scene just after the time-travel.

There’s an ancient saying, a woman looks attractive in mourning attire, and although prison clothes aren’t mourning clothes, they are simple and sober in gray and white. Claire Sinclair indeed looked like a straight-man killer in appearance, originally the most audience-friendly and non-aggressive type of looks, and previously had little exposure. Now appearing in the live stream, this stunning presence was doubly striking to the audience.

...

Cecilia Vaughn couldn’t help but smile at this scene.

Director Chapman was indeed quite carefree, still unaware of the outcome of the clarification conference, yet somehow turned it into a costume promotion for ”There are branches on the mountain”.

For the entertainment industry, any publicity is good publicity, although it may not sound pleasant, but this wave of attention certainly took advantage of the situation.

If they could manage to turn public opinion around beautifully, that would be even better.

Just as Cecilia Vaughn was pondering, many reporters were already handing microphones to Claire Sinclair, Kane Hale, Director Chapman, and others, as Claire Sinclair’s status was too small and she was a newcomer, the reporters’ tone was the sharpest.

”Miss Sinclair, is it true that a sponsor supported you on your way to the female lead role?”

”Miss Sinclair, what do you think got you the opportunity to act alongside Kane Hale, the emperor of film? Was it your acting skills, your background, or your beauty?”

”Miss Sinclair, please respond, why did you go to such a place like Blue Abyss Rose? That bar is very chaotic! Is your private life always this careless?”

”Miss Sinclair, did you really steal Fiona Vaughn’s female lead role to stand here? Facing a senior whose fame and acting skills surpass yours hugely, how could you stoop so low? Standing here today, do you feel guilty?”

...

Cecilia Vaughn was nearly bursting with anger upon hearing those reporters’ questions.

Being the ’mother’ of ”There are branches on the mountain,” Cecilia was present on audition day to watch Fiona Vaughn perform, though she missed the chance to personally evaluate, she watched Fiona’s audition cut three or four times repeatedly. The gap in acting between her and Claire Sinclair was truly significant.

Fiona Vaughn certainly had acting skills, but whatever she acted, she somehow always had a delicate and pitiful demeanor. In other words, whatever she played seemed like she was playing herself, and anything beyond a pitiful setting made her performance lack strength.

Cecilia Vaughn understood this clearly, but the online community brainwashed by Fiona Vaughn may not think the same way.

Indeed, on the live broadcast screen, all sorts of foul language flew around, generally cursing Claire Sinclair for not being worthy, hoping she’d get out of the entertainment circle, or angrily denouncing Director Chapman for shady operations in lead role selection.

Most infuriating were Kane Hale’s fans; although Kane had intended to restrain his fans, they still didn’t trust Claire Sinclair, leading to them turning against her.

...

Just as Cecilia Vaughn’s cheeks puffed up with anger, a tray of strawberries unexpectedly descended from above.

”Cecilia, want some strawberries?”

Stunned, Cecilia looked up, and the impeccable handsome face of a man quickly came into view.

”Adrian, don’t you need to stay at the office today? I remember you saying there was a meeting today?”

”Silly, that was last week, you forgot I had that meeting early on Monday.”

Adrian Law chuckled, reaching out to lightly flick the loose strands of hair by Cecilia Vaughn’s temple.

”What are you watching?”

The man’s gleaming eyes scanned over Claire Sinclair’s elegant face on the screen. Adrian Law neither liked nor disliked Claire Sinclair, but thinking of his friend Zion Prescott who shut himself in a dark room bereft of daylight a cup after another drowning his sorrows, Adrian Law became slightly irritated seeing Claire Sinclair.

Adrian Law knew years ago that this woman was a calamity for Zion Prescott.

He thought it was all over by now, but didn’t expect this doomed relationship to continue.

...

”Cecilia, don’t you find this kind of live stream boring? Let me take you out for some fun...”

”No... Let me finish watching. Hey, what’s with that expression? I happen to be both the screenwriter and original author of ’There are branches on the mountain.’ They’ve already spread rumors that I am a man; wouldn’t you mind being caught in a gay scandal?”

”Pfft...”

Adrian Law was defeated by Cecilia Vaughn’s wild imagination, squinting his eyes deeply, and a faint smile rose in them.

”Cecilia, if you were a man, I can’t even fathom what that scenario would be like.”

”Great, I’ll dress as a man for you to see someday, if you dare to dress as a woman and partner with me.”

”The latter... absolutely impossible.”

Cecilia Vaughn pursed her lips.

”Don’t reject so quickly, although your features are a bit rugged, makeup skills are most magical, I might be able to make you a stunning beauty.”

Adrian Law laughed, reaching out to pinch his little wife’s nose gently, his voice carried an unrecognized indulgence.

”Silly girl, what kind of beauty stands at one hundred and ninety centimeters tall?”

”If there is, it must be a monstrous beauty.”

”...”

Cecilia Vaughn imagined the scene in her mind for a moment and was immediately disappointed.

”You make such a valid point, I find myself at a loss for words.”

”Is this height the limitation of your development as a cross-dresser?”

”...” Seeing her wife’s determined gaze, Adrian Law again smiled helplessly.

...

But on the live broadcast screen, Jude Grant had already appeared at some point.

Jude Grant held Claire Sinclair’s hand, his voice was resolute and forceful.

”I’m the heir of Grant Properties, Jude Grant, let me introduce my legitimate girlfriend here by my side.”

”If there is a so-called sponsor, it ought to be my girlfriend supporting me, because everything Claire has given me far surpasses what I’ve given her.”

The crowd was instantly in an uproar.

And on the big screen, footage of Claire Sinclair’s audition began to play.

Scenes of murder and robbery, all performed with no props, were nonetheless thrilling.

Director Chapman scanned the reporters present and spoke with conviction.

”I choose the female lead solely based on acting skills, the lead role has only ever been set for Miss Sinclair here. If anyone else tries to make false accusations, they’ll be met with a lawyer’s letter! Additionally, our screenwriter is also female, her exact identity will not be disclosed!”
