Mr. Law's Official Announcement: He is a Wife-Doting Fanatic!

Rosalind White’s face darkened, she raised her paddle without thinking this time, interrupting the auctioneer: ”Seventy million!”

As soon as the words left her mouth, Rosalind regretted it!

At this point, it wasn’t about buying something, it was about buying face!

The most terrifying part was spending seventy million on an item worth, at most, twenty million. If that wasn’t madness, what was?

...

Rosalind almost wanted to stand up immediately and tell the auctioneer she wanted to cancel her bid.

But at any auction around the world, bids are final, and if she truly backed out, not only would she be mocked by everyone present, she might even face a lawsuit.

Rosalind lowered her head fearfully, not daring to let others see her guilty conscience. Originally, she loathed the guest in VIP Box 1 who constantly competed against her, but now she hoped fervently to hear the blonde auctioneer joyfully announce that the upstairs bid had risen to seventy million and one!

...

As long as the other party increased the bid, she wouldn’t stubbornly compete anymore; saving fifty million was more important than saving face!

Just when Rosalind was eagerly waiting, all other guests stared curiously, seemingly waiting for the auctioneer’s electronic communicator to light up.

There was no choice; the other party seemed to have a grudge against Rosalind White.

However, as time passed, no one heard the signal for a higher bid.

At first, no one made much of it, as sometimes Box 1 would deliberately bid in the last few seconds.

But as two minutes passed and there was only a minute left before the final hammer, people couldn’t help but start to whisper.

”Do you think the guest in Box 1 upstairs is about to quit?”

”No way, that guest spent thirty million twice earlier, making it sixty or seventy thousand combined...”

”Exactly! But spending seventy million on a pink diamond necklace is indeed not worth it. Is Miss Rosalind really going to take it over?”

...

Rosalind saw everyone’s gaze shift from the auctioneer’s electronic communicator to her, and those eyes felt burning hot, impossible to ignore.

Some even started to congratulate Rosalind, unaware of the situation.

”Miss White, looks like you’re really going to get this necklace! A jewel for a hero, a flower for a beauty; I think this jewelry will look stunning on Miss White!”

”Exactly! Congratulations to Miss White for taking the lead!”

Rosalind’s anxiety grew, but worried she might show her fear, she didn’t want to lose both face and money, that would be beyond tragic.

So Rosalind gritted her silver teeth and forced a smile.

”Thank you all for your praise, perhaps... maybe the guest upstairs will still compete? Who knows where the flower will land.”

But almost as soon as Rosalind said that, the timer on stage beeped!

Before the crowd could react, the blonde auctioneer was already congratulating.

”Oh, congratulations to Miss number 107, for gaining the jewelry!”

Rosalind felt like she was splashed with ice water, her heart was cold, but she couldn’t express her grievance. She had to smile as she stood up to walk step by step towards the stage to claim the pink diamond necklace.

Seeing Rosalind’s slow pace, people couldn’t help but be amazed.

”Hey, isn’t Miss White walking too slowly?”

”Does she think she’s walking the red carpet? Her posture is indeed graceful.”

”Stop being cynical, for someone as wealthy as Miss White to spend seventy million on something worth less than half of that, she’s truly extravagant! If I were her, I’d also walk longer to show how carefree and rich I am!”

Just as someone praised Rosalind, a wealthy lady huffed.

”I think Miss White is suffering in silence, unable to speak. Who would be happy after getting tricked like this? But it’s also because Rosalind wanted to win too badly...”

For a moment, there were those who envied and those who mocked.

...

Rosalind felt nauseated, looking at the previously beloved pink diamond necklace, unable to feel a shred of happiness, only loathing, wishing she could toss it away!

This broken necklace cost her fifty million in vain!

But even tossing it away was unthinkable, that would mean losing seventy million.

As the auction reached a ten-minute intermission, the Lockwood Family, known for their wealth, with Felix Lockwood hosting this auction splendidly, offered guests delicious English desserts and various 20-year-old wines.

After all, some of these wines, at least cost tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands per bottle.

...

Rosalind no longer felt like indulging in wine or entertainment; clutching the pink diamond necklace tightly, her mind was in turmoil, even contemplating asking Box 1 to buy it for fifty million, thinking it wouldn’t be too much of a loss since Box 1 had bid fifty million and one!

Just as Rosalind’s thoughts kept changing, suddenly there was a commotion at the entrance.

”Oh my gosh, it’s The Eldest Young Master Law! Who’d have thought, the head of The Law Group is so handsome! Most rich second generations are bald and have beer bellies...”

”The woman beside him is Cecilia Vaughn? Did you see The Eldest Young Master’s pampering look for Mrs. Law? People used to say the eldest son of the Law family was as cold as ice, supposedly gay, having no interest in marrying Miss Vaughn, but it really doesn’t seem that way!”

...

Rosalind gaped, staring at the couple walking from afar.

The man was tall, handsome, dressed in a pure black suit, serious and cold, yet his red checkered tie added a touch of vibrancy, and Rosalind knew Adrian Law disliked red because of his deceased mother, so the tie must have been chosen by Cecilia Vaughn.

If she wanted him to wear it, he did.

The realization filled Rosalind with infinite sadness.

Just when Rosalind was feeling endless wronged, she saw Cecilia Vaughn and Adrian Law approaching.

Rosalind froze.

”Are you here to show off?”

Cecilia Vaughn chuckled lightly, glancing at the necklace in Rosalind’s hands, gently shaking her head.

”No, congratulations on winning the necklace.”

”You—”

As the painful point was touched, Rosalind became furious, but when she saw the bright Dragon Stone Jadeite Cufflinks on Adrian Law’s wrist, she was stunned.

How did the cufflinks bought by the elderly couple in VIP Box 1 end up with Adrian Law?
