The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 474: Chapter 473: An Angry Lin Shiyu [Five Updates]

Lin Shiyu’s expression was also very ugly. The two of them had been waiting in the parking lot for Gao Qingqing for over twenty minutes. Yet, Gao Qingqing, upon emerging, did not even seek them but instead went ahead on her own. Still, Lin Shiyu managed to restrain herself.

”Forget it, since it’s like this, we might as well just go in ourselves...” Lin Shiyu shook her head.

”Hmph! If I see my brother-in-law, I will definitely tell him how this nasty woman has bullied us!” Liu Keke declared, but Lin Shiyu just shook her head and said gloomily, ”Forget it, after all, she is Ye Feng’s cousin. Let’s not make the relationship too strained. Let’s just go in ourselves.”

Liu Keke nodded and then followed Lin Shiyu towards the venue.

After a short while, Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke arrived at the entrance of the banquet hall and were about to enter when two security guards at the entrance stopped them.

”Sorry, the banquet today is very important; everyone has to verify their identity before entering. Please tell me your names. After verifying, you can go in,” one of the staff politely told Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke.

Lin Shiyu nodded and then provided her and Liu Keke’s names.

The staff member then typed Lin Shiyu’s name into a computer. Soon, the staff member furrowed his brows, looked at Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke, and said, ”I’m sorry, but your names are not on the list. You cannot enter.”

”We came with Gao Qingqing and Gao Zhiyuan. They didn’t say anything about a list or identity verification. Are you kidding us?” Liu Keke immediately got angry, her eyes revealing her fury.

However, the staff member remained calm and replied coolly, ”If that’s the case, why didn’t you come in with Miss Gao Qingqing? If it really is as you said, and you came with Miss Gao Qingqing, why don’t you have her come out to get you?”

Upon hearing this, Lin Shiyu’s face turned ugly. ”She went in ahead of us. Aren’t we not allowed to bring phones? How can I call her then? How about you let us in first, I’ll find Gao Qingqing, and have her come talk to you. Isn’t that the same thing?”

The staff member, expressionless and indifferent, shook his head, ”Sorry, rules are rules, please don’t make this difficult for us. We are just working here; we can only allow people who are on the list to enter. If you are not on the list, unless you can prove that you belong to one of the top five wealthy families, you are not qualified to enter. If I let you in, I could lose my job, so I hope you can understand...”

Liu Keke frowned deeply and eventually cursed loudly, ”Asshole, I’m sure she did it on purpose to make us look bad and keep us out! If that’s the case, then let’s just leave!”

”Right!” Lin Shiyu nodded, certain that Gao Qingqing was deliberately making it difficult for her.

If that was the case, why should Lin Shiyu continue to stay and let Gao Qingqing humiliate her?

Gao Qingqing’s intention was clear – she implied that Lin Shiyu did not belong to one of the top five elite families and thus did not qualify to enter.

As the words fell, Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke turned around and prepared to leave. However, before they had taken a few steps, the driver who had brought them there stopped Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke.

”Miss Lin, you can’t leave, I beg you! The young master told me to keep an eye on you, not to let you go back. He said you are the main character today, it won’t work without you!” The driver pleaded with a mournful face.

After hearing the driver, Liu Keke and Lin Shiyu grew even angrier, Liu Keke unable to hold back cursed directly, ”Nonsense! What main character? The main character is being stopped at the door and can’t even get in. Is that what you call the main character? Tell Gao Zhiyuan to get lost, the further the better, it’s infuriating!”

Then, Liu Keke took Lin Shiyu by the arm and said, ”Let’s go, cousin, we won’t deal with them. We’ll just go eat and shop. Once we get our phones back, we can call brother-in-law.”

”Right!” Lin Shiyu nodded and then turned to leave. They did not want to stay there for another second.

”Bang!” However, before Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke had gone far, the driver knelt down, tears streaming down his face, and shouted, ”Miss Lin, I’m begging you, please don’t leave! If you go, I won’t be able to answer for it. The young master will surely fire me. I’m the sole breadwinner for a family of five, my mother is seriously ill and needs a lot of surgery money. If you leave, I’ll lose my job. Please be kind, help me, I beg you, please don’t go!”

The driver’s pitiful plea was very sincere. Seeing the driver so distressed made Lin Shiyu feel compassionate. ”Alright, let’s wait another ten minutes. If they don’t come out then, we’ll leave.”

Hearing Lin Shiyu agreeing to stay a bit longer, the driver breathed a sigh of relief and gratefully said, ”Thank you, Miss Lin, thank you so much!”

Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke stood foolishly at the entrance to the banquet hall, not able to enter. Before they knew it, ten minutes had passed, and Lin Shiyu frowned.

”Time’s up, let’s go back!” Lin Shiyu said to Liu Keke, who nodded, ”I’ve been holding it in for too long, we should’ve left earlier!”

Then, Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke turned to leave, but seeing them about to go away, the driver immediately knelt on the ground again, crying out loudly, ”Don’t go, Miss Lin, please don’t go! If you leave, I’ll lose my job!”
