The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 473: 472 Chapter: Cocktail Party【Four Updates】

After hearing Lin Shiyu’s words, Liu Keke was deeply moved, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked at Lin Shiyu: ”Thank you, cousin, you’re the best, and my favorite cousin ever!”

”Alright, always sweet-talking, think about it, where shall we eat?” Lin Shiyu asked as she looked at Liu Keke.

”Um...” Liu Keke scratched her head, ”Let me think...”

”Lin Shiyu!” Just at that moment, a voice reached the ears of Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke.

Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke both looked towards the direction of the voice and saw a Rolls Royce parked by the roadside, from which a woman in her thirties alighted.

Although the woman was somewhat aged, she had maintained herself very well and exuded an air of elegance and haughtiness.

Upon seeing the woman, Lin Shiyu immediately furrowed her brow, her eyes revealing a hint of disgust.

The woman was none other than Ye Feng’s cousin, Gao Qingqing, and Gao Zhiyuan was sitting in the car at the time.

”Cousin, who is she?” Liu Keke curiously asked Lin Shiyu.

Lin Shiyu frowned and said, ”She is the person I told you about before, Ye Feng’s cousin, Gao Qingqing!”

At that moment, Gao Qingqing approached Lin Shiyu: ”Shiyu, come have a meal with us!”

Lin Shiyu shook her head, ”Sorry, I’m busy, I already have plans...”

After Lin Shiyu spoke, Gao Qingqing said, ”Lin Shiyu, don’t be so quick to refuse. Grandma has specially prepared a networking event for us young people to gather and give you a chance to meet some of the young elites of Longdu. Grandma said she has felt guilty about the incident last time, so she wants to make it up to you.

It’s precisely because of this that Grandma prepared this cocktail party, so don’t let her good intentions go to waste. After all, she’s your elder and means well, you shouldn’t refuse and make Grandma feel sad!”

Lin Shiyu furrowed her brow: ”Alright, since it’s something grandma arranged, I’ll go, but I’m bringing Ye Feng with me!”

As she spoke, Lin Shiyu was about to make a call, but Gao Qingqing said, ”No need, I’ve already informed Ye Feng; he’s already there waiting for you. Let’s go, you will see Ye Feng when we arrive.”

”Hmm!” Lin Shiyu nodded, not giving it much thought. Since Ye Feng was also going, there was no need to hesitate.

Then, Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke followed Gao Qingqing into the car.

After getting into the car, Gao Qingqing and her brother Gao Zhiyuan exchanged glances, their eyes gleaming with a sinister look.

Longxiang Club is the most luxurious, top-level private club in Longdu. Entry is extremely stringent—only the most important figures from the second-tier wealthy families in Longdu are eligible to enter. If one is merely a profligate scion from such families, they have no right to be there.

Moreover, those who could enter were all descendants of some of Longdu’s major figures, such as the children of some big military area leaders. Of course, the direct descendants of the top five elite families could freely enter Longxiang Club.

Usually, the top five elite families would choose to hold networking cocktail parties for the younger generation at Longxiang Club.

Such parties are attended only by young people under thirty-five, aimed at fostering good exchanges and learning from one another for mutual improvement.

At this moment, Gao Qingqing brought Lin Shiyu and others to the entrance of Longxiang Club. Before they could enter, a security guard came over, respectfully speaking to Mr. Gao, ”Mr. Gao, welcome, please cooperate with us by handing over your cell phone for safekeeping.”

Mr. Gao and Gao Qingqing nodded, then handed their phones to the security guard, telling Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke, ”Give them your phones too; it’s the rules here, not allowing any communication devices inside.”

Liu Keke and Lin Shiyu looked puzzled but still nodded and handed over their phones.

Seeing Liu Keke and Lin Shiyu remove their phones, Gao Qingqing and Gao Zhiyuan looked triumphant; in reality, there was no rule against bringing communication devices.

Before long, Gao Qingqing and company arrived at the parking lot, but just as they parked the car, Gao Zhiyuan exclaimed, ”Isn’t that Mr. Xie? Haven’t seen him in a while, Qingqing, you take Shiyu and the others inside; I’ll go have a chat with Mr. Xie!”

Without waiting for Gao Qingqing’s response, Gao Zhiyuan hurriedly left and entered the venue.

Gao Qingqing said with a ”resentful” expression: ”Really in such a rush, the moment he sees his old cronies, he forgets about his own family, hmph!”

As she spoke, Gao Qingqing, Lin Shiyu, and Liu Keke then got out of the car.

Just then, Gao Qingqing suddenly let out a strange cry: ”Ouch! My stomach really hurts!”

Gao Qingqing looked at Lin Shiyu and said, ”No, no, my stomach hurts too much, you guys wait for me a bit, I need to use the restroom!”

Without waiting for Lin Shiyu’s response, Gao Qingqing hurriedly ran towards the restroom.

Watching the hurrying Gao Qingqing, Liu Keke frowned in annoyance: ”They really are alike, brother and sister. Cousin, these two people are so annoying!”

Lin Shiyu shook her head helplessly, ”Forget it, after this month and a bit, we won’t be living with them anymore, no use worrying about it.”

Then, Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke stood waiting in the parking lot, and quickly, ten minutes passed, but Gao Qingqing didn’t return to pick up Lin Shiyu and Liu Keke.

Liu Keke grew impatient: ”What did this woman eat at noon today; why is she taking so long?”

Soon, another ten minutes passed, and both Liu Keke and Lin Shiyu frowned.

”What’s going on? It’s been twenty minutes already, isn’t she taking too long?” Liu Keke frowned.

”Let’s wait a bit longer!” Lin Shiyu said, frowning and looking stern.

Quickly, another five minutes passed, Liu Keke startled, pointing towards the entrance of the event venue: ”Cousin, cousin, look, isn’t that Gao Qingqing?”

Lin Shiyu looked up, indeed it was Gao Qingqing; Gao Qingqing had actually gone into the venue without calling them.

Liu Keke angrily said, ”That bitch, we wait here for her, and she just ditches us and goes in first!”
