The Strongest Urban Son-in-law

Chapter 375: Chapter 374: Forcing a Confession

Ye Feng calmly explained, ”An hour had already exceeded the agreed upon time. I was in a rush to get out, so I cancelled the order. Who would have known that this elderly woman would run up to my doorstep and make a scene? As for what happened next, you can see for yourselves in the video!”

After that, Ye Feng showed the two workers the surveillance video captured by the camera at the door.

”That son of a bitch... I worked so hard to make breakfast for you, and you actually cancelled it. If you can’t afford it, don’t order it...”

”Compensate me for my lost work!” Watching everything that transpired in the video, the two workers furrowed their brows. Indeed, Ye Feng had pushed the old woman, but that was after she had clawed and hit Ye Feng repeatedly. The push Ye Feng gave could be entirely justified as self-defense, and it couldn’t be blamed on Feng.

Looking at the old woman, the workers helplessly said, ”Ma’am, he cancelled your order because your delivery was too slow. It’s normal to cancel; I’ve watched the video. This gentleman was simply acting in self-defense; you should go now!”

After hearing what they said, the old woman became instantly furious: ”Bullshit! Didn’t you see this brat hitting me? I want compensation from him; I want to sue him; I’m going to make sure he goes to jail for this! I won’t let this matter rest so easily!”

The two workers were extremely helpless, trying to mediate: ”Ma’am, this gentleman hasn’t done anything wrong.”

”Hasn’t done anything wrong? He assaulted an elderly person! I was nearly beaten to death by him. I want you to take him back for investigation. I know your Director Zhang; do you believe I will call him right now and get you both disciplined?”

The old woman was relentless, absolutely unwilling to let Ye Feng off, behaving completely unreasonable.

A murderous intent flashed in Ye Feng’s eyes; the more unreasonable the old lady was, the more Ye Feng could imagine how she bullied Lin Shiyu yesterday, and his expression grew darker.

”This gentleman, please come with us to give a statement, don’t worry, there won’t be any problem!” said the workers. Ye Feng nodded lightly, ”No problem, I’ll go with you.”

Following that, Ye Feng went with the two workers and the old woman straight to the related department.

After a short while, Ye Feng and the old woman arrived at the entrance of the relevant department. Feng looked at the gates and remembered how Shiyu walked out dejected from there the day before, making his expression very dark.

An intense anger burned in Ye Feng’s heart; today, he would make sure that anyone who had bullied Lin Shiyu inside would pay!

Not long after, Ye Feng was brought into an office, and then a middle-aged man wearing a uniform, with an arrogant face, walked in and looked at the two workers, asking, ”What’s going on?”

Upon seeing this middle-aged man, the old woman began crying loudly: ”Xiao Zhang, you finally came! You must stand up for me. I was almost beaten to death by this little bastard today, did you know?”

After listening to the old woman, Director Zhang furrowed his brows and said to her, ”Auntie, don’t worry. I will investigate this thoroughly and ensure justice is served for you.”

Then, Director Zhang called over a female worker, an ordinary-looking woman with a cold demeanor, sporting a big belly, about five or six months pregnant.

Seeing the woman, Ye Feng knew at once; this was the same woman who had deliberately pricked Lin Shiyu’s finger several times the day before.

Ye Feng had specifically asked Shiyu about this woman’s features, and Shiyu told him the woman was pregnant, easy to recognize at a glance. His expression grew even more somber upon seeing her.

The woman sat in front of Ye Feng and said indifferently, ”Tell me, why did you hit the elderly woman?”

Ye Feng replied lightly, ”I didn’t hit her; I merely defended myself. As for the details, I have surveillance footage. You can watch it yourselves!”

After hearing Feng’s words, the workers then showed the video to Director Zhang and the pregnant woman.

Both Director Zhang and the pregnant woman scowled; indeed, Ye Feng had only defended himself.

However, when they saw the old woman fall to the ground on video, anger appeared in their eyes.

Clearly, regardless of the reason behind Ye Feng and the old woman’s argument, they deemed Feng at fault for pushing her down. Director Zhang glared at Feng and demanded, ”Kid, tell me, did you or did you not hit the old woman?”

Ye Feng shook his head, ”I’ve made myself very clear. I did not hit anyone; I was defending myself.”

”Damn it, you little beast! I’m asking if you hit her or not. Just give me a straight answer; why the hell are you talking so much?” Director Zhang roared angrily at Feng.

Ye Feng remained relaxed, speaking softly, ”You don’t need to make me indirectly confess. After all, I’ve already provided the video, which can testify to everything that happened.”

Director Zhang smirked coldly, looking at Feng, ”Sorry, but your device is far too high-tech for me. I couldn’t use it properly and accidentally pressed something, so I accidentally deleted the video...”

Ye Feng didn’t panic, simply sitting there quietly, replying, ”If it’s deleted, it’s deleted. In any case, I was only defending myself.”

Director Zhang glowered at Ye Feng, ”Kid, be careful, I’m warning you, this is excessive self-defense. You’ve assaulted an elderly person, and I can detain you for that. Do you understand?”

Ye Feng replied calmly, ”Is everyone in your department so arrogant now, or is this an abuse of power?”

”Cut the crap, what abuse of power? I’m simply delivering justice for the people!” Director Zhang bellowed.

Ye Feng spoke softly, ”I have nothing else to say. As I already stated, I was only defending myself. It was the old woman who attacked first.”

At that moment, from the next room, the old woman’s shouting could be heard: ”Comrade, you must stand up for me. He cancelled my order for no reason and attacked me first. He saw that I was old and feeble, so he hit me!”

Ye Feng chuckled coldly; this was a complete distortion of right and wrong.

Director Zhang looked at Ye Feng coldly, ”Kid, now the other party claims you’re the one who attacked first!”

Ye Feng shook his head, ”No need for more words; as I’ve said, I was merely defending myself and did not initiate the attack.”

Director Zhang shook his head, turning to look at the pregnant woman.
