Huangfu Ziyu and Ding Lianshun both knew that the Shen Family Manor was not safe, so neither of them agreed to let Ye Qing enter the Shen Family Manor alone.

Looking at their determined expressions, Ye Qing didn’t say much. He nodded and said, ”In that case, let’s be careful. Avoid direct conflict with these people for now and figure out the current situation of the Shen Family Manor. It would be best if we could rescue the Shen Family members first!”

”Alright!” Ding Lianshun nodded. He looked around and whispered, ”Where is the secret passage to enter the Shen Family Manor?”

”Ah!” Ye Qing sighed and whispered, ”That secret passage was dug by that dead fatty, Handsome Fatty Wang.”

”Huh?” Ding Lianshun was surprised and asked curiously, ”What happened?”

”Don’t even mention it!” Ye Qing said helplessly, ”Last time, I left Handsome Fatty Wang in the Shen Family Manor to protect him from being hunted by Wan Yan Zong. Unexpectedly, that dead fatty was ungrateful and didn’t stay quiet in the manor. He emptied the entire Treasure Pavilion, stealing all the famed instruments of the Shen Family. This secret passage was left by him!”

”Oh? Such a thing happened?” Ding Lianshun widened his eyes. He also knew Handsome Fatty Wang, so hearing this, he was both amused and exasperated. Handsome Fatty Wang was indeed shameless, capable of doing anything.

However, thanks to Handsome Fatty Wang leaving this secret passage, Ye Qing and his companions were still able to enter the Shen Family Manor. Otherwise, given the current circumstances, sneaking in wouldn’t be an easy task.

”Where is the secret passage?” Huangfu Ziyu asked.

”Follow me!” Ye Qing led the two quietly down the mountain. The last time he caught Handsome Fatty Wang, he asked him how he managed to steal the Shen Family’s famed instruments. Handsome Fatty Wang confessed about the secret passage and revealed its location.

Taking the two to a place one hundred meters outside the manor, Ye Qing found the entrance to a secret passage according to Handsome Fatty Wang’s description. Although the entrance was partly covered with dirt, the three of them easily cleaned up the debris, revealing the entrance.

”Wow, the secret passage isn’t small!” Ding Lianshun remarked.

”Of course, with Handsome Fatty Wang’s size, any passage he can walk through, others can too!” Ye Qing replied.

”That’s true, with his size, the secret passage would have to be dug large!” Ding Lianshun said, jumping into the secret passage and whispering, ”I’ll lead the way, follow me closely!”

Initially, Ye Qing wanted to lead the way himself, but Ding Lianshun was quicker. He understood that Ding Lianshun had good intentions. The one in front would definitely be in the most danger, which was why Ding Lianshun took the lead.

”Zi Yu, stay behind!” Ye Qing also jumped in, following right after Ding Lianshun, with Huangfu Ziyu at the back. The three of them proceeded along the secret passage.

The secret passage led directly to the Treasure Pavilion. At that time, Handsome Fatty Wang dug it to directly transport items from the Treasure Pavilion to outside the Shen Family Manor. One must admit, that fatty really had determination and capability; digging such a large passage wasn’t easy. Though he was a professional tomb robber, digging such a massive passage alone was no small feat.

The three walked through the passage for about three minutes, surmising their location, they should be inside the Shen Family Manor by now.

”Another fifty meters forward and we’ll reach the Treasure Pavilion.” Ye Qing whispered, ”Mr. Ding, be cautious ahead, I suspect there’s an ambush at the Treasure Pavilion.”

”I understand.” Ding Lianshun replied. Leading them onward for about thirty more meters, he suddenly halted.

”Wait!” Ding Lianshun furrowed his brows, looked sideways, and whispered, ”Ye Qing, did you hear something?”

Ye Qing hadn’t noticed before, but hearing Ding Lianshun, he listened intently.

Thud thud thud, in the secret passage, a sound echoed from an unknown direction. The sound seemed not far, as if someone was tapping on the passage.

”What’s happening?” Huangfu Ziyu also heard the sound and asked softly.

Ye Qing and Ding Lianshun exchanged glances, paused briefly, then moved forward. The three of them were skilled and bold, determined to find out where the sound was coming from.

Moving roughly ten meters more, they could vaguely see the exit of the passage, which probably led to the Treasure Pavilion. At this moment, the thudding sound grew louder, as if it was emanating right beside them.

”What exactly is that sound?” Ding Lianshun wondered softly.

Ye Qing traced the sound, walked over, and stopped at the edge of the passage. After listening carefully, he suddenly turned to the others and whispered, ”The sound is coming from here.”

”But that’s a dirt wall, how can there be a sound?” Huangfu Ziyu asked softly, perplexed.

Ding Lianshun was also filled with astonishment, clenching his fists. In these circumstances, hearing such an odd sound urged them to remain vigilant and prepared.

As the sound grew louder, Ye Qing took a step back, feeling the situation was truly bizarre. The three of them formed a triangle, surrounding the wall, determined to see what was making such strange noises.

After about ten minutes, the sound kept escalating, until finally, soil began to crumble and fall. It was as if something inside the wall was trying to burst out, making the trio more vigilant.

”Be careful!” Ye Qing gestured to the other two, eyes fixed on the wall. Finally, as they waited, the wall suddenly broke open with a hole. A shovel burst through, twisted, and pushed a large amount of earth away, revealing a gaping hole in the wall.

Seeing this, Ye Qing and the others exchanged glances, finally understanding what was happening. It turned out someone was digging a tunnel, no wonder there was that kind of noise.

The shovel withdrew after making the hole and returned again, expanding the opening in a few sweeps.

”Damn, finally here!” A low voice came from the other side of the wall, followed by the sound of a shovel being thrown to the ground, and after two spits, a chubby hand reached through the hole. Then, a dirt-covered chubby head squeezed through, indicating someone was trying to crawl out.

Ye Qing and his companions stood at the hole, staring at the head while the person on the other side observed the situation. After a moment of silence, the person suddenly retreated. However, how could his speed compare to Ye Qing’s? Ye Qing rushed over, grabbed the person’s neck, and dragged him out.

”Spare me, hero, spare me!” The man wailed the moment he hit the ground: ”I wasn’t trying to run, I really wasn’t, I just... just came for a stroll... don’t kill me... don’t kill me!”

”Shut up!” Ye Qing covered the man’s mouth with one hand, whispering, ”Look at who I am!”

The man glanced up at Ye Qing, showing a moment of astonishment, then immediately snapped back to his senses and cursed, ”So it’s you, **** you, trying to scare the Fat Lord to death, huh!”

The person was none other than Handsome Fatty Wang!

In fact, once Ye Qing heard him speak earlier, he was sure of his identity. Meeting Handsome Fatty Wang here, Ye Qing couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity.

”Damn, you’re not dead yet!” Ye Qing couldn’t resist punching Handsome Fatty Wang, his voice filled more with excitement and thrill.

”Hell no, I won’t die before you do!” Handsome Fatty Wang pouted, glancing at Ye Qing and his companions: ”Hey, didn’t that short guy say you two were dead? What’s going on? You... you aren’t ghosts, are you?”

As Handsome Fatty Wang spoke, he began to retreat, only to be kicked in the rear by Huangfu Ziyu, landing squarely on his backside.

”Shut up, I wouldn’t die before you!” Ye Qing echoed Handsome Fatty Wang’s words, whispering: ”We escaped, alive and well. By the way, why are you digging again? What’s going on at Shen Family Manor now?”

”Damn, you really aren’t dead?” Handsome Fatty Wang still seemed a bit incredulous.

”Nonsense!” Ye Qing glared at him, saying: ”Hurry up and answer me, or I’ll kill you first!”

”Don’t, please, let’s talk it out!” Handsome Fatty Wang discreetly shone his flashlight at Ye Qing, relieved to find that Ye Qing had a shadow.

”Ah, the situation at Shen Family Manor, it’s really hard to explain!” Handsome Fatty Wang sat on the ground with a sigh, looking at Ye Qing: ”You got a smoke?”

”What is this, storytelling with a cigarette?” Ye Qing urged: ”Stop messing around, quickly tell me about the situation at Shen Family Manor!”

”What’s there to say about Shen Family Manor, just look at me and you’ll know what it’s like!” Handsome Fatty Wang shook off the dirt on himself: ”Damn, last time you forced me to deliver the Famed Instrument to Shen Family Manor, you really screwed me over. Damn it, if I didn’t know about the Dragon Blood Wood, I’d probably be a specimen for that short guy by now!”

”Short guy? Who exactly is this short guy you’re talking about?” Ye Qing asked urgently.

”Who else could it be, it’s definitely the Corpse Ghost Dragon!” Mr. Ding whispered.

”Right, right, last time when Shen Tianjun was fighting with him, I heard Shen Tianjun mention his name, something like Corpse Ghost Dragon.” Handsome Fatty Wang replied.

”Corpse Ghost Dragon!?” Ye Qing’s face changed, he asked in a deep voice: ”So…did Uncle Shen win or lose when fighting him?”

”Nonsense, if Shen Tianjun won, would I be in this state?” Handsome Fatty Wang replied.

Ye Qing looked at Handsome Fatty Wang. Though he was covered in mud, it was still clear that his clothes were stained with blood. Moreover, there were many visible wounds on his body, clearly inflicted by others.

”Uncle Shen… Uncle Shen was defeated by the Corpse Ghost Dragon?” Ye Qing’s voice trembled slightly, for if Shen Tianjun lost, who knows what the situation would be now.
