Reborn in the Apocalypse: A Seductive Beauty Captivates a Pure-hearted Roughneck

48: Chapter 48 Dating a young girl? The two rushed to the Gym, and after Su Chenyu’s training program, they had no strength left.

Jiang Heng came over, poked his head in to look at their faces, and said, ”Sister Ning, Sister Zhiyu, can you still move? It’s time to go home.”

Xu Wanning listlessly raised her arm and called out to Xu Yu, who was not far away, ”Little brother, come quickly, big sister needs you.”

Xu Yu’s eyes lit up. He trotted over and crouched down, saying, ”Big sister, I’ll carry you.” Aside from sweating a little, he didn’t feel tired at all and could still train for another two hours.

Xu Wanning threw herself onto his back and said, ”Let’s go.”

Lu Zhiyu looked at them blankly and asked, ”What about me?”

Jiang Heng held her arm and said, ”Sister Zhiyu, I’ll support you.”

Having something is better than nothing. Lu Zhiyu used his strength to stand up and shuffled out, one step at a time.

Back home, Grandpa Zhou saw them in such a state and told them to go rest first, adding that the noon training would be suspended for now until they had adapted to it.

”Long live Grandpa Zhou!”

Jiang Heng and the others joined in, shouting, ”Long live Grandpa Zhou!”

Grandpa Zhou ’scolded’ them with annoyance, ”Why are you joining in the fun? You guys continue!”

The twenty-plus young men all shut their mouths. It’s unfair, so unfair.

”Zhiyu, I’m going to drop off a jacket for your brother this afternoon. Are you coming?” Xu Wanning didn’t intend to disturb him; she would just leave the jacket outside for his comrades to take in.

Lu Zhiyu nodded and said, ”Sure, let’s go. I also plan to stock up on some alcohol; we haven’t stocked any yet.”

Xu Wanning nodded. Indeed, they hadn’t stocked alcohol. Alcohol was a good thing; they had to stock up.

Xu Jingping leaned in and said, ”If you’re stocking up on alcohol, take your second uncle along.” His eyes lit up. How could he have forgotten his old friend? How could they manage without alcohol? They had to stock up, and plenty of it.

”I’m going too.” Xu Jingan also leaned in. They had stocked up on side dishes for drinking, but not the alcohol itself. What a mistake.

They didn’t have very high requirements for alcohol; bulk baijiu would do, and for beer, they would just stock up on the few brands they usually drank.

At 1:00 PM, the four of them set off.

Xu Wanning went to the Fire Station to deliver the clothes first. Today, the person on duty happened to be the Li Jingran they had mentioned before. It was a pity that Qingqing wasn’t there.

Li Jingran smiled and said, ”Xiao Yu, are you here to see your brother?”

”Just delivering some clothes, we won’t go in.” Lu Zhiyu handed him the clothes and said, ”Brother Li, please give this to him for me. We have other things to do, so we’ll be leaving first. Thank you.”

Lu Zhiyu pulled Xu Wanning away, quick and decisive.

Li Jingran held the jacket, looked at their retreating figures, and then looked inside. Wasn’t Old Lu dating this young girl surnamed Xu? Why did they come and not even meet him? And wasn’t Old Lu off today?!

He hurriedly picked up the internal phone and said, ”Old Lu’s sister and his girlfriend are here to deliver a jacket to him. Tell him to come out and get it.”

An answer came from the other side very quickly, and not long after, Lu Chengyue came jogging out.

When he saw that there was no one at the entrance, he was stunned. He looked at Li Jingran and asked, ”Where are they?”

Li Jingran handed him the clothes and said, ”They left.”

Lu Chengyue took the clothes, dazed. They just left like that? Without even seeing him?

Li Jingran put his arm around Lu Chengyue’s shoulder and asked, ”Say, Old Lu, Xiao Jiang said you’re dating that little girl surnamed Xu. Is it true or false?”

Lu Chengyue blushed and said, ”Mm.” He had previously said they should start as friends, but to prevent his comrades from snatching her away, he had claimed his status first. That wasn’t a problem, right?

”Not bad, Old Lu. Xu Wanning is so pretty, yet you managed to claim her. There’s really no justice in the world.”

He had noticed something was off with Lu Chengyue during Lu Zhiyu’s birthday last time. It seemed he had already set his sights on her back then. His speed was quite fast.

Li Jingran bumped Lu Chengyue’s arm and said, ”Do Zhiyu’s other two roommates have boyfriends? Introduce them to your buddy. My parents have been urging me for a long time. When they come to visit next time, they’ll nag me again.”

”I don’t know.” Even if he knew, he couldn’t say. Maybe they didn’t want to date a Firefighter. It wouldn’t be good for him to introduce them blindly. He would talk about it later if there was a chance for them to interact.

Meanwhile, Xu Wanning and the others had arrived at a wholesale shop for tobacco, alcohol, sugar, and tea. Seeing the cigarettes, they realized they hadn’t stocked up on those either. They didn’t smoke, but there were plenty of people who did. Perhaps it would become a hot commodity during The Apocalypse.

Xu Jingan waved his hand and said, ”Boss, I want everything in your store. Please calculate how much it costs, and give us the lowest price, okay?”

The boss was stunned, then started laughing, the wrinkles on his face deepening. ”I, I’ll calculate it for you right now. Xiao Zhang, close the shop door! Start loading the goods!”

The boss led several employees to start working, calculating items one by one, the calculator clicking and clacking.

It took several hours to finish. ”Here is the list, take a look. It totals 453,000; just give me 450,000 will do.”

Xu Jingan took it and looked it over. Confirming the boss wasn’t cheating them, he nodded to his daughter.

Xu Wanning went directly with the boss to make the payment. She had money on hand now, transferred by Lu Zhiyu; she still had plenty left even after spending 450,000.

Tobacco 250,000, tea 90,000, alcohol 60,000, candy/snacks/nuts 30,000, tea pairings/groceries/packaging 23,000, rounded down to 20,000.

The boss agreed to deliver to their door, and they left him the address of Lu Zhiyu’s warehouse.

While paying, Xu Wanning realized Lu Chengyue had sent her a message, asking why she hadn’t seen him.

She replied when she had a moment, [I’m busy with things today, I’ll call you tonight.]

[Okay.] Lu Chengyue’s reply was very fast; he must have been holding his phone in his hand the whole time.

Xu Jingan looked at the quantity and said, ”The alcohol is still not enough. Let’s go buy some bulk alcohol.”

An hour later, they had emptied a shop specializing in bulk alcohol. There were 29 jars of alcohol in total, some 50 jin, some 100 jin. The cheapest was 8 yuan per jin, and the most expensive was 120 yuan per jin. It cost 110,000 yuan in total, with a total volume of 3,500 jin. They also paid for the jars.

The two brothers, Xu Jingan and Xu Jingping, were satisfied. With so much alcohol, they could drink for several years.

They still had money, so they went to the wholesale market and bought a lot of vegetables, fruits, seafood, frozen goods, and meat. The main goal was to spend all the money, and in the end, there were only 2 yuan left in the card.

They went directly to the warehouse to wait. Before long, the goods were delivered one after another. They received each batch as it was loaded into the warehouse.

Grandpa Zhou’s home address couldn’t be exposed, lest these people come looking after The Apocalypse; this warehouse location was the most suitable.

Fortunately, before they came out, they had cleared some space in the storage, moving the rice and flour out first, otherwise they wouldn’t have been able to fit all these things back.

After returning, they would move the alcohol and such out, and put the rice and flour back into the space.

Grandpa Zhou wandered over and said, ”Nickname, I’ve installed a cold storage unit in the basement over there, and the power generation equipment is all set up. I’ve bought a lot of seafood and such and have already frozen it inside. You can put your meat and things in there too.”

”Not for now, it’s enough for the moment.” Mainly, she thought meat and pork ribs were better fresh, and they were always fresh when stored in the space.

Having bought the alcohol, everyone drank some that night for the first time. Xu Wanning didn’t usually drink. After two glasses, her face was bright red, she felt dizzy, and she just wanted to pull at her collar; she felt stifled.
