Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: The Disappearance of Luo Qianqian (Part 5)

”You’re a pretty interesting kid, normal kids would panic or shrink back when kidnapped, scared to move in case they displeased someone and got ’snapped’ away, right?” The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ couldn’t help but laugh and cry as he took back the water cup that was stuffed back into his hands. ”Here you are drinking water, even commanding me, the ’Boss’, to get you specific food. Aren’t you afraid your cute little head will get separated from your neck?”

Luo Qianqian seriously looked into the ’Pale-faced Scholar’s’ eyes before turning her head and curling her lips into a smile, ”Lose a head and you’re left with a big scar, but after eighteen years, a beauty appears again.”

”Hahaha, you really are something. How old are you to say that you’ll be a beauty at eighteen? Look at you now, so skinny like a monkey, dark like charcoal, short like a coffee table, with legs as short as Ke Ji, and hair as dry and yellow as straw... What’s with that face you’re making? Alright alright, I’ll go get you some porridge.” The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ talked more and felt something was off—the child seemed to be curling up more and more, and her shoulders were shaking. Was she crying? Maybe it was time to find something to eat to comfort her. With that thought, the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ silently vanished from the room.

If he had been more observant, he would have noticed that the person with shoulders curled inward, trembling, was examining her own hair and legs, ”It’s clearly black, maybe you’re used to rainbow colors and can’t recognize black anymore, colorblind, you’re such a colorblind! You’re the one with Ke Ji’s short legs! If Ke Ji stood up on two legs, they still wouldn’t be as long as mine! I hope your sons and daughters are skinny, dark, short, and legless, just like you said... not to mention dry yellow hair, I hope they have no hair at all!!! None at all!!!”

Having a short-legged dog wouldn’t be so bad, it seemed fun. Comrade ’Killer God’ thought so as he squatted in the corner of the wall.

”Hey! Kid, didn’t you want to eat porridge? Put down Master’s chicken wing!!!” Luo Qianqian decisively gave up on her plans for a wholesome meal today because of the ’Pale-faced Scholar’s’ mockery of her height and dashed toward the meat on the table. She saw the chicken wings; although there were only six in a plate, they looked much more appetizing than any she had at KFC or McDonald’s in her previous life, especially the flowers placed in the side dish were very eye-catching. So uncontrollably, she picked up a chicken wing.

”Hmph.” You tell me not to eat it, so I’ll eat it. Seeing the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ with feet not touching the ground as he rushed towards her, Luo Qianqian in her urgency stuffed the chicken wing directly into her mouth, afraid that he would snatch it away.

The moment she bit into it, her tongue felt like it was on fire, tears uncontrollably pouring out, snot following suit, and the chopsticks in her hand dropped to the table alongside the bitten chicken wing. Luo Qianqian’s lips instantly swelled up red as she tearfully looked at the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ who arrived a step too late.

She clearly remembered loving spicy food, and when she picked it up, she definitely smelled only the fragrance, not the spiciness. What was going on?

”I told you not to eat it, but you just had to. This is the best crazy spicy flavor for miles around. What’s a kid like you doing eating crazy spicy food?! Looks like you really can only eat porridge now. Let me pour you some milk to ease the spiciness.” The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ found Luo Qianqian’s situation both funny and annoying. He told her not to eat but she insisted, and now look at her crying; was she performing for him, the ’Killer Without Blinking’?

Crazy spicy!!! Luo Qianqian fanned her mouth and tongue with her hand, but the pain on her tongue did not lessen at all. Her tears and snot flowed ceaselessly, broadcasting her discomfort, and bits of drool unwittingly dribbled down.

Oh, what a pity I didn’t bring a camera to capture this precious moment—it would’ve been perfect for a little entertainment when nothing else was happening, especially for the Master who always has such a stiff expression on his face. The ’Killer God’ thought to himself, stroking his chin with one hand.

”Milk, drink it quickly,” said the ’Pale-faced Scholar’, holding back a laugh and calmly handing Luo Qianqian a cup filled halfway with milk and a straw.

Luo Qianqian wanted to roll her eyes to tell the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ it was all his fault, but her tears made it hard to even open her eyes, let alone move them freely. So, she just took the milk, tossed aside the straw, and poured it into her mouth. However, her out-of-control lips caused the milk to spill all over her clothes in a big splash.

Whimper, whimper, whimper, if there were a straw, the milk would go straight into my stomach without soothing my burning tongue, and without getting used to it, it would just flow right onto my belly, not soothing my tongue either. Is this milk also out to get me?

”Pfft~” The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ trembled with his shoulders as he put another straw into the cup, ”You don’t have to drink it, you can just hold it in your mouth and let it soak your tongue.”

Oh, right. Luo Qianqian felt embarrassed; her IQ must have been scorched away by the spiciness. She sucked up half a mouthful of milk through the straw.

”The porridge is yours, stop stealing my meat. Everything on the table except for those two green vegetables is spicy,” the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ looked at Luo Qianqian, her lips slightly swollen and her cheeks puffed up with milk, and thought of a pufferfish. Perhaps it would be good to eat some pufferfish tomorrow.

I’m not someone who can’t handle spicy food, it’s just that I’m still young!! It’s an age issue!! In my past life, I ate more spicy Sichuan dishes than you’ve eaten in your entire lifetime... even more chicken wings!!

Luo Qianqian wiped the snot, tears, saliva on her face, and the milk on her clothes with the tissues prepared by the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ on the table. She swallowed the milk in her mouth, and feeling much better, she slowly said, ”Who cares, you’ll get fat from eating meat late at night! Eating so much spice will give you painful pimples, constipation will torture you to death, and stomach pain will wrack you.” Saying so, she used the spoon in the bowl to start eating the unnamed porridge with meat and vegetables in front of her, secretly praising that it was quite tasty.

”Pfft!” The meat in the mouth of the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ sprayed straight onto the table. Luo Qianqian protected her porridge with disdain as the ’Pale-faced Scholar’ said dejectedly, ”Can’t you think of anything nice? What do small children know about all these things? Is this how your parents taught you?”

”First of all, how my parents taught me is none of your business, and from the way you address me, you can tell that your upbringing isn’t any better than mine. My name is Luo Qianqian, I’m not some ’little kid’ or a ’hey you.’ Secondly, I am concerned about you eating so much spicy food; it’s not good for your health, but as a five-year-old child having issues with wording is within reason, right? Then, have you forgotten why I’m here? I was stuffed into a trunk and kidnapped by your men, okay? Besides, how should I treat you, the ’main culprit’ who can’t manage his subordinates? Lastly, the most basic table manners include turning away from people and food when sneezing or spitting food, don’t disturb others while they are eating!” And you expect me to be well-mannered? I’m just the ’Pig Ticket,’ I have no idea what those two old hags are going to demand from my mom and them.

”I... I’m actually at a loss for words... Alright, little... Luo Qianqian, thank you for your concern, I shouldn’t have laughed towards the table causing me to spit out food and disturb your meal just now, but you’re right, even though you’re a child, it’s undeniable that you’re a ’Pig Ticket,’ which could be exchanged for some cash.” The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ thoughtfully stroked his chin, ”Maybe I’m being too nice to a ’Pig Ticket’? If it weren’t for my brother who’s been cold and unlovable since childhood, I wouldn’t be so fond of children.”

”The ’Pig Ticket’ just wants to tell the plain truth,” Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes and put down her rice spoon while she touched her slightly bulging belly.

”What do you say, what’s the plain truth you want to tell?”

”If you like children that much, you can have your own.” Luo Qianqian wiped her mouth clean, got down from the dining table, and lay down on the soft sofa, with the look of someone who eats and sleeps, sleeps and eats, the perfect ’Pig Ticket.’

The ’Pale-faced Scholar’ was speechless, and for a while, nothing else could be heard in the room except for the sounds of him eating.

The rapid passing of red and blue lights made this quiet suburban area a bit panicky. The ’Killer God’ looked at the small group engrossed in eating and drinking, somewhat speechless, with this level of alertness they still dared to play at kidnapping?
