I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 178: Chapter 175: A Bowl of Wine

The customers chatted amongst themselves, keeping an eye on the time.

Half an hour slowly passed.

During that half hour, another dozen or so customers arrived one after another.

At the same time, the aroma of marinated chicken feet began to waft through the air.

The scent grew richer and richer.

”Boss, are they ready to eat?” the customers all asked.

Everyone was already incredibly eager to dig in.

Li You nodded. ”Just about. I’ll go take a look.”

With that, he got up and walked into the shop.

The customers all followed him inside.

The closer they got, the stronger the aroma became.

Based on this scent alone, these marinated chicken feet were bound to be delicious.

Their cravings intensified.

Li You walked into the kitchen and lifted the pot lid.

The fragrance instantly billowed out, even more potent than before.

It was truly aromatic.

The scent even made Li You himself feel a thrill of excitement.

He picked up a chicken foot with his chopsticks and examined it closely.

’They’re ready.’

He turned off the heat.

He scooped out all the chicken feet.

After arranging them on a rectangular platter, he carried them out of the kitchen.

The moment the customers saw the chicken feet on the platter, they became ecstatic.

They could finally eat the boss’s marinated chicken feet!

’Oh, right, how much are they?’

A customer voiced this question.

Li You had already decided on the price. He would sell them by the piece, three yuan each.

Li You announced the price.

The customers nodded repeatedly. When you broke it down, the price was similar to marinated chicken feet sold elsewhere.

Marinated chicken feet on the market usually sold for thirty yuan per jin.

A jin was about ten pieces, or twelve to thirteen at most.

The math worked out to roughly three yuan per piece.

That was the standard market price.

So for the boss’s chicken feet, three yuan each could be considered quite cheap.

The customers eagerly scanned the QR code to pay.

Each person could only buy two, which came to six yuan.

Li You took out a stack of small plates and placed two chicken feet on each one.

The customers served themselves.

After grabbing a plate, every single person couldn’t wait to pick up a chicken foot with their hands and shove it into their mouth.

The texture of the chicken feet was perfect—tender enough that the meat came off the bone with ease, yet still possessing a satisfying chewiness.

Plus, they were incredibly fragrant and delicious.

None of them had ever tasted marinated chicken feet this good before.

This was the supreme delicacy among marinated chicken feet.

It was a great fortune to be able to eat chicken feet like these.

Every single person was completely satisfied.

After waiting since yesterday, they finally got to taste the boss’s marinated chicken feet.

They just knew the boss’s chicken feet would be super delicious.

Everyone ate slowly, savoring every bite.

There were two reasons for this.

First, the more they savored the chicken feet, the more fragrant they became.

Second, they only had two each and couldn’t bear to finish them quickly.

They wanted to chew up the very bones and swallow them.

Even the bones were fragrant.

Every customer chewed on a small piece of bone over and over, reluctant to spit it out.

If there weren’t a purchase limit, they would have bought at least twenty each to savor slowly.

”By the way, Boss, are you going to buy more raw chicken feet today?” a customer asked.

The other customers all looked toward Li You.

They were also very concerned about this question.

Because only if Li You managed to buy more raw chicken feet today could they continue to enjoy them tomorrow.

Li You himself had also taken a marinated chicken foot and was eating it.

Of course, he had to have some too.

He was also very fond of marinated chicken feet.

Even he was getting excited as he ate, because they were just so fragrant and delicious.

’The marinade recipe from the System is just incredible!’

Hearing the customers’ question, Li You said, ”I’ll head to the town market later to see. Maybe I can pick out some raw chicken feet?”

Even though it wasn’t a market day, there would still be some for sale.

But Li You was worried he wouldn’t be able to find any that met his standards.

Even at the huge wholesale meat market in the county town yesterday, he had only managed to select ten jin of raw chicken feet. He really couldn’t get his hopes up for the quality of chicken feet at the town market.

It wasn’t just raw chicken feet; poultry like chicken, duck, and goose were also hard to come by.

’It seems like it’ll be difficult to buy enough of these ingredients on the open market.’

’I might have to pin my hopes on the game dungeons.’

’I wonder when I’ll be able to trigger another game dungeon?’

’Hm, wait a minute...’ Li You suddenly remembered he still had a ”Dungeon Experience Card” he hadn’t used.

He’d gotten it from the last lottery draw. Since he hadn’t been short on any ingredients at the time, he hadn’t used it, saving it for when he really needed it.

At this thought, Li You felt a surge of pleasant surprise and quickly opened the Storage Pavilion.

Sure enough, there was an unactivated ”Dungeon Experience Card.”

’This is great!’

With this Dungeon Experience Card, he could at least get a large quantity of raw chicken feet.

Li You was thrilled.

However, he didn’t activate the Dungeon Experience Card right away.

There was no need to rush. Activating it a little later would be fine.

After hearing Li You’s reply, the customers all hoped inwardly that the raw chicken feet at the town market would be up to par.

’At least let the boss find a few dozen jin.’

That way, they could continue to eat marinated chicken feet tomorrow.

Or maybe even this afternoon?

If the boss found raw chicken feet at the town market, he could totally make another batch today.

The customers held onto this hope as they continued to eat their chicken feet.

’Speaking of which, maybe I should get a bowl of wine?’

Such delicious marinated chicken feet, paired with the boss’s top-quality fine wine here—that would be a heavenly enjoyment.

With this thought, many of the customers couldn’t hold back any longer. They called out to Da Bai and Xiaohai, ”Da Bai (Xiaohai), a bowl of wine, please!”

Even with only two chicken feet, it was still enough to pair with a bowl of wine.

Da Bai and Xiaohai answered in unison and went to fetch wine for the customers.

When the wine was brought before them, the customers all eagerly lifted their bowls and took a big gulp.

Then, they let out sighs of deep satisfaction.

This was truly the life.

Just then, a few more people quickly walked in through the shop’s entrance.

The moment they stepped inside, one of them said excitedly, ”Boss, the chicken feet are ready, aren’t they? We could smell the aroma from outside.”

Then, they quickly noticed the dozen or two people in the shop, each holding a marinated chicken foot and eating with great relish.

Some of them even had a bowl of wine in front of them.

’Holy crap!’

’They’re just eating two chicken feet, and they even need a bowl of wine for that?’

’That’s on par with needing a whole bottle of beer for a single barbecue skewer!’

’But then again, all these guys look like they’re enjoying themselves immensely.’

’Never mind that for now. Let’s just buy the chicken feet first.’

Since everyone was eating them, they must really be ready.

”Boss, quick, get me two marinated chicken feet. Oh, right, how much are they?”

Li You smiled. ”Three yuan each.”

When the newcomers heard this, they thought the price wasn’t expensive at all. It was about the same as the marinated chicken feet sold on the market.

’The boss’s food is clearly a top-tier delicacy, yet he doesn’t sell it at a high price. How rare!’

They then all asked Li You to get them their chicken feet.

Li You handed each of the new customers a small plate with two chicken feet.

After receiving their plates, these customers, just like the ones before, immediately grabbed a chicken foot with their hands and stuffed it into their mouths.

With that one bite, they too quickly felt a sense of complete satisfaction.

They were so fragrant, so delicious. Even better than they had imagined.

This was absolutely the pinnacle of flavor for marinated chicken feet.

There couldn’t possibly be any marinated chicken feet more delicious than this.

The boss’s marinated dishes were, as expected, truly top-tier.

’He’s a god!’

The customers were once again filled with emotion!
