I Have a Countryside Gourmet Restaurant

Chapter 156: Chapter 155: How About Picking Some Plums to Sell?

It was just as they had guessed.

After seeing the photos, the people in the group chat who hadn’t come all said the dishes did indeed look delicious.

If they had the chance, they should definitely go and try them.

The phrase ”if they had the chance” showed that while everyone believed the food would be delicious, that was as far as it went.

They would probably come someday. But who knew when that would be?

The people who posted the photos didn’t say anything more about it. In any case, their goal of making their presence felt had been achieved.

If those guys didn’t come, it was their own loss.

The group at the restaurant gave them no further thought.

Now was the time to enjoy fine food and wine, so why waste any more thought on them?

...

「In the kitchen.」

After a flurry of activity, Li You finally finished serving all the customers’ dishes.

Then, he stir-fried a portion of twice-cooked pork with garlic sprouts for himself.

It was time for his own meal.

After slowly finishing his food, he took out some plums from the Storage Pavilion.

He planned to offer some plums to his customers in a bit.

Li You was more than happy to share the plums he had grown himself with his customers.

Gradually, the customers began to finish their meals one by one.

Every single person was thoroughly satisfied.

They had waited an entire week just for this meal today.

Now they had finally eaten it, and there were even a few pleasant surprises.

Naturally, everyone was more satisfied than ever before.

After scanning the code to pay, everyone stood up and went outside the restaurant.

They would rest for a bit, and then, after the owner was free, they would start making tofu.

Everyone was looking forward to it immensely.

Li You brought some plums outside and said, ”Here are some plums, I grew them myself. Please, have some.”

Hearing this, the crowd thanked Li You profusely.

’Grown by the owner himself? Those must be the plums from his hometown in Changle Village.’

Although there were plum trees in the orchard out front, they weren’t bearing any fruit.

’They’ll probably bear fruit next year.’

’I wonder what the owner’s plums taste like?’

Many people, including Xiao Yue and Zhang Rui’Er, went to grab a plum to try.

They were already full, but they could still manage a few plums.

After taking a bite, everyone’s eyes lit up.

’These are incredible!’

Xiao Yue said happily, ”Sir, are you selling these plums? If you are, I’d like to buy some. It’s hard to find plums that taste this good anywhere else.”

Xiao Yue loved plums and often bought them to eat.

But the quality of plums varied wildly, and it was rare to find ones that were exceptionally good.

Zhang Rui’Er also chimed in, ”It’s true, it’s not easy to find good-tasting plums. Yours are really excellent, sir. If you’re selling them, I’d like to buy some too.”

”Me too, I want to buy some!”

”Then I’ll buy some as well. The plums I bought before can’t compare to these.”

”...”

More and more people expressed that they wanted to buy the plums if they were for sale.

The others who hadn’t originally planned on eating any plums, like Wei Ping and Liu Xu, now also stepped forward to try one.

They were curious. ’Just how good could they be?’

As it turned out, the taste and texture were indeed excellent. It was truly hard to find plums this good on the market.

If the owner decided to sell them, they wouldn’t mind buying some either.

Li You hadn’t expected that everyone would want to buy them.

He had only wanted to share them with his customers precisely because they tasted so good.

He never thought they would all want to buy them after just one taste.

To be honest, Li You had no intention of selling the plums.

Although the plum tree at his home was laden with fruit and he definitely couldn’t finish them all anytime soon, he had the Storage Pavilion!

He could pick all the plums and put them in the Storage Pavilion to eat at his leisure.

They would never spoil, no matter how long they were kept inside the Storage Pavilion.

Therefore, Li You didn’t plan to sell them.

However, many other people in the village definitely needed to sell their plums.

Like Liu Jialiang, for example.

He had two plum trees at his house, and they were also bearing an excellent harvest.

If he didn’t find a way to sell some, they would just end up going to waste.

’Why not let the customers buy from him?’

’His plums taste just as good; they’re no worse than mine.’

Thinking of this, Li You said, ”Sorry, everyone. I only have one plum tree at home, so the yield isn’t that large. I don’t plan on selling them. However, someone else in my village is selling theirs. I can guarantee they taste just as good as these. Would you be interested in buying from them? If so, I can ask if he’s willing to pick some and bring them over.”

After hearing this, the customers all nodded, saying they were willing to buy as long as the plums were just as good as these.

As for the price, the customers trusted that since Li You was the one making the connection, the seller wouldn’t overcharge them. They would accept any reasonable, normal market price.

Li You nodded. ”Alright, I’ll give him a call and ask.”

With that, he took out his phone and dialed Liu Jialiang’s number.

The call connected quickly.

”Xiaoyou, what’s up?”

Li You said, ”Uncle Jialiang, I was wondering, are you selling your plums?”

”Of course I am! Today was market day in town, so I even picked some to sell there this morning. But they aren’t selling well. Everyone’s plum trees did well this year. I’m afraid the market’s flooded.”

Li You laughed. ”Even if the market’s flooded, our plums taste so good that we surely won’t have trouble selling them.”

”That’s hard to say! By the way, Xiaoyou, why are you asking?”

Li You said, ”Well, it’s like this. I have some customers here who want to buy plums...”

Li You explained the situation, and finally asked if Liu Jialiang was willing to pick some plums and bring them over to sell.

Over the phone, Liu Jialiang replied with pleasant surprise, ”Of course I’m willing! But Xiaoyou, your plum tree had such a good harvest too. There’s no way you can eat them all yourselves. Are you sure you don’t want to sell any?”
