Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 728: Chapter 501: So Many Fruits

Quanquan County is the closest county town to the seaside, but still quite a few dozen miles away from the real ocean. If you take a carriage, it would take a whole day to get there.

Moreover, between Quanquan County and the sea, there are many small villages and towns, high mountains and rivers, farmland and crops, all of which are naturally present.

No one is in a hurry to understand this city; they still have plenty of time.

The boy quickly drove the carriage into the city and arrived at the courtyard that had been prepared long ago.

Because during the entrance to the city the boy had sent someone to deliver a message to the steward, people were already waiting for them at the gate.

Upon seeing the carriage, they quickly jogged over and diligently helped to pull open the carriage curtain.

”Lord Marquis, Madam, Second Young Master, Young Madam, you’ve finally arrived. The estate has already been tidied.”

Jiang Hu’s second wife descended first, followed by everyone else filing out. Seeing the mansion in front of them, they all let out a gentle sigh.

Although they were not seasick anymore, and the travel time was not particularly long, it was always better to have feet firmly on the ground.

The steward didn’t know Jiang Hu, but seeing that he was the oldest here, he naturally guessed who he was.

Seeing Jiang Hu looking at the gate, he hurriedly explained: ”Lord Marquis, my mistress said to prepare a serene and spacious courtyard for you, slightly closer to the city gate, for convenience in travel.”

”The courtyard looks small from the front, but the backyard is close to the city wall, with a large garden, and from the back door, it’s only about ten feet to the city gate.”

Liu Ze at this time also recognized the steward and exclaimed in surprise: ”Steward Li? Is it you? When did you come to Quanquan County? Weren’t you still in the Capital City before the new year?”

Liu Ze had met Steward Li when he went home before the new year, and he is one of the stewards trusted by his mother.

It is said that in recent years, business at the Liu family can firmly stand in the Capital City, thanks to the prior preparations made by Wang Fu, as well as significant contributions from this Steward Li.

However, they only had one encounter, and they didn’t see each other after that.

Seeing Liu Ze still remembers him, Steward Li was also very happy, and quickly said:

”Second Young Master, I only came after the new year, the Madam said she couldn’t rest assured by letting others come here and asked me to come to help manage some chores for the Lord Marquis and Second Young Master.”

Liu Ze nodded: ”Then what about your family? I heard from Qingxuan that your son was just born last year?”

Perhaps because he also has a child now, Liu Ze feels leaving the child alone and going far away for a long time would be a cruel thing.

Especially when the child is young, changing every day, not seeing them for two or three days feels quite different, not to mention not seeing them for several months.

By the time Steward Li returns, his son might not even recognize him.

This is also the reason for his surprise at seeing Steward Li here.

However, speaking of this, Steward Li instead smiled: ”Second Young Master, don’t worry, my mistress is kind-hearted, the whole family moved to Quanquan County together this time.”

Madam Liu’s maiden family has been merchants for generations, the house’s stewards are purchased children, meticulously instructed from a young age.

Although acting as a steward, their indentures are held by Madam Liu, but for those who have accomplished deeds, Madam Liu never minds restoring their freedom.

Previously, Wang Fu was like this, now following Liu Qingfeng elsewhere and doing well, yet still handling matters for the Liu family.

This Steward Li is the same; although Madam Liu hasn’t returned his indenture, she has removed his son’s status, which, for him, is indeed a great joy?

Especially now, although they are in a foreign land, the whole family is still together, which makes it understandable why he is so happy.

Liu Ze nodded with a smile: ”That’s good.”

Seeing everyone had disembarked, Jiang Hu walked ahead into the new home: ”Let’s go; let’s go in and take a look. Find the courtyard you like for yourselves.”

Although it looks not much different from the Central Plains inland, the layout of houses and courtyards are somewhat similar.

However, upon closer inspection, one can also notice that the landscaping plants in this courtyard are very different.

The most prominent is a very thick tree, with very large, lush green leaves.

It’s a banana tree. In Xiaomi’s space, they all recognized it.

Back then, when Xiaomi tried planting bananas as seen on a past video, she had buried many banana roots in the ground which finally sprouted two banana seedlings.

It was luck indeed, considering bananas almost have no seeds; although she buried several hundred pounds, at least two came up, now transforming into a large banana grove.

Additionally, there are many fruit trees they’ve seen in the space as well.

Mangoes, lychees, longan, coconut trees, and even a towering durian tree.

These trees they’ve seen in the space before, Ling’er explained them thoroughly, and they’ve tasted these fruits!

Xiaomi lit up directly upon seeing the durian: ”Wow, so many fruit trees!”

This coastal city indeed differs, even in the county town, there are so many fruit trees!

And some are extremely expensive fruits in the Central Plains inland!

Moreover, some fruits such as bananas and mangoes are rarely sent to the Central Plains inland.

Steward Li was somewhat surprised looking at Xiaomi, then laughed: ”Fourth Miss is indeed wise, summer here is long and sunny, fruits are abundant and very cheap.”

”Besides, people here enjoy planting various fruit trees in their yards, the previous owner of this courtyard is a well-known fruit grower in Quanquan County, naturally there are many fruit trees in the courtyard.”

Although he hadn’t seen the Marquis’ son and daughter, he has heard of them and seeing Young Madam Jiang Xiaoxue, naturally recognized who the other lady was.

As for Wei Ziang and Jiang Wei, they’ve distinguished them inwardly.

Nonetheless, Steward Li was quite surprised that Xiaomi could immediately identify these are fruit trees, as even he had taken a long time to recognize them upon arrival.

Xiaomi kept frequently glancing at the adjacent courtyard, the durian tree she just saw was apparently growing in that courtyard, seemingly the only one with durians on the way in.

”Steward Li, where is that?”

Not having seen the entrance over there yet.

Steward Li followed the direction Xiaomi pointed and said: ”That is the side courtyard, the entrance is on the other side, a bit of a roundabout to get there.”

Saying so, he intends to lead them to take a look first.

Xiaomi immediately felt happy: ”Side courtyard, great, then I’ll stay there.”

Father and mother are the heads of the family, naturally must live in the main house, traditions cannot be broken.

For the other courtyards, all sisters are similar, all can reside in them.

Nevertheless, she likes durian, recalling that durian tree over there.

Even though there’s durian in the space, it cannot be casually taken out.

But Xiaomi remains curious, seeing these fruit trees seem no different from those in her space, is it that fruit trees evolve faster than crops?
