Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 143: Chapter 143: A Bunch of Little Foodies

”Xiaomi, go sleep on the bed, be careful not to fall.”

Xue gently pushed Xiaomi’s arm, with her other hand supporting her back, afraid she might fall.

Xiaomi wasn’t sleepy at all, shook her head and stood up: ”I don’t want to sleep anymore, I’ll go check on Dad, Mom, and Tiedan.”

Today Dad bought a few ducklings and goslings, they’re being raised next to the pigsty at the back of the house, they’re still small and can’t go into the water yet.

Tiedan had never seen ducklings and goslings, he was very curious, and since Mom was chopping pig grass and cooking pig feed in the back, he kept watching the goslings.

Just as she rounded the corner by the pigsty, Qixi came down from the hillside.

”Xiaomi girl is here to see the goslings too.”

Xiaomi blinked: ”Yes, Qixi brother, did you go to graze the cows?”

Previously, Qixi was helping Mom with the fire, but after Dad drove the ox cart back, Qixi took the Big Water Buffalo up the mountain.

”Yes, Xiaomi girl, do you want some of this, I picked it from the mountain, it’s very sweet.”

Qixi handed over a handful of brown stuff, and Xiaomi’s eyes instantly lit up.

”Crooked Cane!”

A type of ugly wild fruit, gnarled and twisted, but very sweet!

”So you recognize it, Xiaomi girl? Here, take it and share it with Xue girl.”

His young master didn’t have the fortune to eat this, as it would make him uncomfortable.

Qixi had traces of climbing trees on him, and stains on his mouth left from eating the Crooked Cane, so Xiaomi didn’t hold back.

”Thank you, Qixi uncle.”

Xiaomi smiled, and Qixi followed suit with a grin: ”No need to thank, no need to thank.”

Xiaomi girl’s smile was always particularly contagious, making people feel super good, and like all the worries disappeared.

”Tiedan, come eat something delicious! Don’t just play with the ducklings.”

After shouting out to Tiedan, Xiaomi happily ran to give it to her second sister.

Second sister loved sweet things the most, and right now she didn’t dare to take out the candies from the space, so she could only give second sister more of these.

Sometimes Dad would also pick wild fruits for them, but when it comes to good-tasting things, no one would complain about having too much.

Xiaomi ran away and then came back, seeing Liu Ze talking to her second sister, the two of them were quite close together, with Liu Ze pointing at the handkerchief second sister was embroidering.

”Second sister, eat the Crooked Cane.”

Xiaomi didn’t think too much, and ran closer with a smile, presenting it to her second sister like a treasure.

Liu Ze appeared slightly embarrassed, hurriedly moved back, and sat up straight.

Xue didn’t feel anything, but her eyes lit up slightly at the sight of the Crooked Cane in Xiaomi’s hand.

”Where did you get that, isn’t Dad at home?”

Mom usually stayed home to take care of them, and only Dad often went up the mountain, bringing back any edible wild fruits he found.

”It was picked by Qixi uncle, he just went up the mountain to graze cows and has already come back.”

Qixi was actually only fifteen or sixteen, Xiaomi thought, calling him brother would be completely fine too.

But since it’s different here, many boys start to talk about marriage at fourteen or fifteen.

So given this age difference, it indeed made a generation gap, Jiang Hu told her to call him uncle, so she did.

”Big sister, second sister, I want to eat too.” Tiedan came running over, another foodie.

”Wash your hands first, you played by the pigsty for such a long time, you can’t just eat like this.”

Xiaomi handed over the Crooked Cane to her second sister, reminded Tiedan, and went back the same way.

She’s not too interested in sweets, and she hasn’t seen the ducklings that Dad bought back yet, so she’s going to fetch them some pure Spiritual Spring water.

Xiaomi still found opportunities every day to add some Spiritual Spring water to the kitchen’s water tank, as well as the water tank at the back for feeding the pigs and cows, the same way.

But more often, she would give everyone a bit of pure Spiritual Spring water whenever there was a chance.

For example, when boiling water, pretending to scoop water, but actually, it was all Spiritual Spring water.

Or when feeding the chickens and rabbits, she would switch it for them.

Up until now, the water from the Spiritual Spring in the space hadn’t diminished a bit, so she used it more generously.

Especially during the busy farm season, she would sneak large amounts into the dung pit when going to the outhouse.

In the village, over forty households, originally everyone said each day one household, each household one turn, a two-month cycle, six times a year.

Later on, everyone changed it to during the busy farming seasons, especially during planting, everyone came to collect manure, it was also the right time to use it then, and when it was gone, they rested for a while.

Xiaomi wanted everyone’s crops to grow well, so that their family wouldn’t stand out too much, so every time at this moment, she would put a lot of Spiritual Spring water in the dung pit.

Also, these two years, due to feeding more pigs, and with cow manure and such, the manure was more, so people weren’t as strict when it came to collecting it.

Besides these, whenever Xiaomi went to the village, she would also pour Spiritual Spring water into the irrigation channels.

The irrigation channels not only ran along the fields, but some people would fetch water from there for watering vegetables and irrigating crops, drawing water close to the channels.

Because of this, the crops in Fu’an Village grew so well, and the whole village was deemed ’blessed by fortune’.

Xiaomi bounced her way to the back of the pigsty, Qixi was already pinching his nose, continuing to dig cow dung with Jiang Hu.

Cow dung was filled in a large pit outside the cow pen for fermentation, before each plowing session, Jiang Hu would carry it to the fields, then plow it into the soil, so that the next round of planting would have better growth.

The pig grass was chopped, the second mother was busy cooking, with two pigsties and eight pigs to feed, it was a lot, and nowadays, she was busy just with pig feeding.

”Why isn’t Xiaomi eating Crooked Cane with your sisters?”

”I want to see the ducklings.”

The ducklings and goslings were put together, fenced with bamboo next to the pigsty.

Xiaomi leaned against the bamboo fence, reached out and touched: ”They’re so small.”

They’re all tiny, but the goslings were obviously bigger than the ducklings, and their necks were a bit longer, so you could tell them apart at a glance.

As she reached out, she had already secretly filled the split bamboo tube with Spiritual Spring water.

”Xiaomi, help Mom keep an eye on the fire, Mom’s going back to cook.”

In the morning, it rained, she cleaned the pigsty and cow pen at home, then went to pull out weeds, and came back to chop pig grass and so on, now it was noon, time to cook.

Xiaomi nodded repeatedly, she knew how to tend to the fire.

After Mom left, Xiaomi took a bit of green vegetables and crushed corn from the space, things she grew herself.

Once they were tossed to the ducklings and goslings, they quickly ate them up.

Xiaomi took the opportunity to pet the fluffy little ducks, thinking to herself, you guys need to hurry up and grow.

Duck necks, duck heads, various braised dishes floated through her mind, almost making her drool.

She wiped her mouth with her sleeve, no, no, she couldn’t think about it, she couldn’t just live day by day like this.

She needed to grow up fast, and then buy more books, it would be best if she could go to town herself, that way, she could pretend to discover lots of delicious food!

There were all kinds of food in the space, but having gotten used to the things nourished by the Spiritual Spring and Spiritual Energy, those with all sorts of additives were hard to stomach.
