Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 105: Chapter 105: Differences in the Space

Xiaomi stayed in the space for almost an hour before coming out, figuring that even as skilled as her father was, two hours would be more than enough.

Luckily, it was completely quiet outside, with none of those sounds that make people blush.

Xiaomi was also brought into her mother’s arms, with Tiedan sleeping on the other side with Dad.

Worried that the kids might kick off the blanket while sleeping, the couple each held one child, sleeping in separate beds.

Xiaomi was sleepy, yawning as she closed her eyes to sleep, but in her mind, she thought of the little kitten. She wondered what the kitten they were supposed to bring home tomorrow looked like.

Just as she was sleeping soundly, she felt herself being moved, followed by the sounds of her parents getting out of bed. Xiaomi turned over and continued to sleep deeply.

She slept until her second sister called her to get up for breakfast, and only then did she groggily sit up, not forgetting to pat Tiedan awake beside her.

Tiedan was a sound sleeper and often grumpy upon waking, but he made an exception for Xiaomi, his sibling.

When woken up by others, he would usually pout like he was about to cry, but not when Xiaomi called him.

In March, the clothes were still a bit thick. Although Xiaomi could dress herself, it wasn’t very convenient, so Ernie helped them put on their clothes and then led them both out.

”Mother has already made breakfast. Xiaomi, you’re not going to the fields today, right? We’ll go work in the fields with Mom.”

”Okay, Second Sister.” Xiaomi nodded compliantly. She understood her second sister’s meaning – as long as she didn’t go to the fields, their big brother wouldn’t follow, so he could stay home and help with some chores.

Just as they went outside, they saw Big Brother returning from outside with a small basket on his back. Xiaomi was surprised, ”Big Brother, where did you go?”

At the eaves of the house, Dawu casually dropped the basket to the ground, and it was filled with fresh wild grass.

”Just looking for rabbit grass. Once these are dried and the dew is gone, they can be fed to the rabbits.”

As he spoke, Dawu had already dumped out the wild grass and kicked it apart with his feet, spreading it on the ground.

Xiaomi rubbed her eyes, ”Big Brother, you get up this early every morning.”

Recently, when she gets up, there is always some dewy grass drying under the eaves.

Upon closer inspection, it’s indeed the types that rabbits like to eat the most.

”Not every day. It’s just that the wild grass around the house has been cut down by Erni. Too far away, she can’t go alone, so I just go and cut some in the morning when I have nothing to do.”

Just then, Erniang came out of the kitchen, ”Just in time, everyone’s back. Wash your hands and have breakfast. I made corn porridge today. Xiaomi said she wanted fried eggs, so one for each person today.”

Ernii was a good cook. The fried eggs were golden with a soft center.

What Xiaomi liked most was that they used very little oil and weren’t greasy at all.

After finishing a fried egg, she drank a bowl of corn porridge, which was a mix of buckwheat, corn, and sorghum, paired with finely chopped salted vegetable shreds. It was very fragrant.

Tiedan was a typical little guy, only one year and two months old yet able to feed himself, thanks in large part to Xiaomi, who often demonstrated in front of him.

But letting him eat well on his own, well, that wasn’t quite there yet.

Tiedan’s portion of the fried egg was cut into small pieces but still arranged in their original shape. Otherwise, the little guy would fuss if he saw it was different from everyone else’s.

Using a small spoon to eat, it’s not certain that each bite would make it into his mouth, and he’d have to try again when it fell.

After eating the egg and another small bowl of porridge, their daily meals were the same as the rest of the family unless it was something particularly hard to digest – nothing special was prepared.

Once Xiaomi finished eating, she went with Second Sister to feed the chickens and rabbits. Dawu did the dishes, while Ernii took care of Tiedan, helping him to finish his meal.

Even though it was just cooking and taking care of the children, by the time they were finally ready to go to the fields, the sun had already reached the yard.

It was the hour of Chen, past eight o’clock, and Xiaomi had gotten up at seven.

With one pulled, one carried, Dawu helped carry the sorghum seeds, and Ernii just carried the hoe, pulling or carrying Tiedan, while Erni pulled Xiaomi along.

With this string of people, they headed to the fields together.

On the way, someone saw them and couldn’t help but laugh, ”Ernii, why don’t you let them play at home? Bringing them to the fields, isn’t that troublesome?”

It surely was troublesome, with four of them of varying sizes. Unless you let them do as they pleased, it would take quite some time just to wash faces and hands.

Ernii smiled, ”No worries, there’s not much work in the fields, it’s not too busy.”

The aunt who spoke turned to Xiaomi, ”Xiaomi, if you have time this afternoon, why don’t you and your brother come to Auntie’s field to play? Your Uncle Yang bought you some candy.”

Xiaomi smiled innocently, ”Okay, thank you, Auntie.”

It didn’t matter whether there was candy or not, and it didn’t matter whether she went to Aunt Wu’s field or not. After all, when she had time, she would go to the fields for a walk.

Yesterday, she used up a year’s worth of accumulated dishwashing water and would have to use Spiritual Spring water moving forward.

Ernii took a breath and put Tiedan down to walk, ”Sister Wu, I’ll be going now.”

The Jiang family didn’t have any relatives in the village, so the formality here was more relaxed, based on age.

When they reached the fields, they put Tiedan down and let him play by himself while Ernii began to work.

When planting corn earlier, they had intentionally left some open space, and it was all tilled. Now, with a bit more hoeing, the soil would be loose and finely granular.

To speed up germination and make sorghum grow faster, Ernii sorted out the seeds last night and soaked them in water.

However, she was unaware that later Xiaomi had secretly replaced the soaking water with water from the Spiritual Spring within her space.

As she got used to it, the space became more useful; whether taking or placing things, it was especially convenient. Just a touch and a thought could gather everything inside.

Moreover, Xiaomi discovered that other than her body, which couldn’t enter the space and could only do so in consciousness, any living thing could enter!

So far, Xiaomi had secretly placed Xiaohei, water buffaloes, and pigs inside the space.

There was absolutely no problem; even such large cattle could freely move in and out. Xiaohei sometimes frolicked inside the space, and there was even no need to mention the chickens and rabbits, as they were being raised there.

Luckily, these animals couldn’t talk, so there was no worry about secrets being leaked.

She contemplated trying to see if she could put Tiedan inside the space while he napped, but she didn’t dare.

Not that she feared Tiedan discovering anything, but she worried about any dangerous changes occurring when he entered the space.

It’s worth noting that in her past life, when she attempted to collect living beings in the space, they would disintegrate and disappear into nothingness.

If it weren’t for the addition of fields and houses within the space, she wouldn’t have dared to entertain the idea of raising livestock, even though living beings could now enter, but for people...

Xiaomi decided to give up the test. She dared not attempt it.
