Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 102: Chapter 102: The Eel Becomes a Giant Snake

Under everyone’s eager anticipation, Xiaomi finally brought her big brother, dawdling, to the field.

Her family’s rice field lacked no Spiritual Spring water, especially since cow manure was used last year.

The weather in March and April was just right, there were plenty of weeds even in the fields, those that grew in the water.

So at this moment, there were people working in the field, and when they saw Xiaomi with the eel pincher, they were overjoyed.

An uncle saw Xiaomi and immediately squinted his eyes with a smile: ”Xiaomi is here, come to me quickly, I’m just about to leave, so I won’t disturb you catching eels.”

Saying that, he walked straight out of the field, not even washing the mud off his legs, carrying his hoe, laughing.

Xiaomi glanced at her big brother who was completely ignored, and then looked at the field, a big patch of water grass was right beside the uncle just now.

Xiaomi was speechless, really, there was simply nothing to say.

Da Wa wasn’t overthinking it, anyway it wasn’t the first time, when everyone saw Xiaomi, even her parents might be ignored, let alone him?

Da Wa rolled up his sleeves: ”Xiaomi, let’s take a look, didn’t Dad say, as long as someone invites us, we’ll check it out, maybe we’ll catch an eel.”

”Alright big brother, let’s have a look first.”

Forget it, we’re neighbors after all, and since they are so enthusiastic, I can’t reject their kindness, can I?

Xiaomi followed behind her big brother, seemingly focused on observing the field edge for eel holes, but actually was looking for an opportunity to get the Spiritual Spring water into the field.

Their enthusiasm had a reason, they believed she was truly a lucky star descended, fields visited by her and with harvests could attract more eels.

Don’t even mention other people, even Jiang Hu and Second Mom thought so, otherwise why would they say if someone calls, just go check their field?

Moreover, they thought of it in a grander way, they thought if the heavens sent a lucky star, it must be to save all beings, especially since the world had just experienced war and was in a period of rebuilding.

At this time, a lucky star descending, isn’t it to make the entire world happy and harmonious?

So, after discussing it, they thought since that’s the case, they shouldn’t be too selfish, as long as they’re not evil people, let them share in the luck, if there are bad people who did evil deeds, surely heaven would punish them.

Xiaomi really wanted to retort against this idea.

But at that time, she was pretending to be ’asleep’, so she could only suppress the urge to laugh while listening.

However, Xiaomi understood, after all, this Spiritual Spring water was indeed useful, especially for irrigating crops, the yield and fruit were the best proof.

And after using the Spiritual Spring water for so long, the space hadn’t decreased, and she didn’t feel any discomfort, as if it was inexhaustible.

Simply put, Xiaomi decided to be generous for once, deciding to put some Spiritual Spring water into everyone’s irrigated fields.

As she was pondering this, Xiaomi suddenly stopped, she saw an entrance to a water channel, slightly high, but from above, the area below the inlet was damp, obviously a place where water had been released before.

There’s a way!

Xiaomi’s heart stirred, she quickly took a few steps, and then plopped herself down beside the inlet: ”So tired, big brother, you go look around first, I’ll rest for a bit.”

Da Wa was speechless: ”How come you’re tired just coming out, haven’t you just taken a nap?”

Despite his words, the protective big brother still inspected around the field ridge, leaving Xiaomi to wait for him in the same place.

Xiaomi took the opportunity to press her hand on the inlet, allowing the Spiritual Spring water to gush out quickly, no, it should be washing water.

There were several large water tanks worth of washing water, whenever she went to the outhouse, she found opportunities to release it into their family’s pit, and she hadn’t finished pouring it yet.

This washing water was from washing milk powder bowls, nothing else, and after long sedimentation, the sediments sunk to the bottom, she just needed to extract the clear water above.

As for those white mixed liquids, she still had to pour them into their family’s pit, at least it wouldn’t be a glaring white mass, directly discovered.

And she specifically chose this inlet position to avoid being found out, since other places were dried by the sun, only the place she was at was wet, one spot is fine, but more might cause suspicion.

But the inlet to the paddy field didn’t matter, it was supposed to be wet and hard to detect.

Through a year or more of interaction with her parents, combined with her past life experience, Xiaomi increasingly understood what it meant to have a treasure and attract envy, to keep wealth secret.

So when it came to Spiritual Spring water, not to mention others, even her own family members couldn’t be informed!

In this regard, Xiaomi indeed inherited Jiang Hu’s ways, just like how there’s an earthen jar buried under a wooden box under their bed, who would think there are a full ten taels of Silver in it!

Every time they added Silver, they did it when the kids were asleep, using a small hoe to dig out the jar, put the Silver in, then buried it back, not forgetting to evenly wet the soil and smooth it out afterwards!

This way, even if someone moved the box, they definitely wouldn’t find the jar!

Don’t ask why her parents were so secretive, yet Xiaomi knew, haha, to avoid eavesdropping, she specifically entered her space to stay for two hours every day before coming out to sleep!

As Xiaomi silently grumbled to herself, she observed this paddy field.

The paddy fields were mostly flat, unlike on a slope, a small place required a field ridge to prevent landslides.

Therefore, this paddy field had a considerable area, plus Da Wa had to carefully check for signs of eels wriggling through, so going around the field naturally wasn’t fast.

Xiaomi estimated that for this patch of field, she released about a tank of water, approximately two to three hundred jin, which should be enough.

And upon close observation, it wasn’t hard to find, as Xiaomi released the Spiritual Spring water, some small creatures like leeches, and small insects that lived on the water surface, already began gathering towards it.

Suddenly, Xiaomi sharply noticed that a small hole next to her began bubbling.

”Big brother, hurry, come over here, there’s movement, it seems like an eel’s about to come out!”

Saying so, she quickly took out the eel pincher and placed it on either side of the small hole, ready to pinch it as soon as the eel emerged!

Da Wa almost ran over: ”Really, where is it, let me see, be careful not to let it run, eels run really fast.”

Just as he finished speaking, he was already beside Xiaomi.

At this time, from the water hole, a head had already emerged, its speed was indeed fast, within a breath, half a foot had already emerged.

Xiaomi didn’t even bother to look, swiftly and forcefully pinched it with the eel pincher and jumped up the next second, pulling out the eel.

”Got it, got it, big brother, look, I caught... ah!!! A snake! It’s a snake!!!”
