Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 177: Chapter 163: Wang Yi’s Battle Plan (2)

But this wasn’t a natural current. It was under Wang Yi’s complete control, able to change direction at any moment, regardless of the terrain.

Bai Xianyi spoke again. ”Then let’s discuss something more productive. You have a warrant out for you from Eco-Technology, which triggered a world anomaly and even caused an Incarnation Divine to appear. I’ll venture a guess: you’ve accepted the world-clearing quest. Could you tell me the details? Perhaps we could exchange intelligence and cooperate.”

Wang Yi looked up at Bai Xianyi. With a mere thought, the small river shot up from the ground, flowing through the air like a floating stream. It quickly encircled the Steam Airship hovering in the sky.

”Shatter!”

Wang Yi barked another command. As if obeying a decree, the airborne river shattered with a deafening BOOM. It exploded into countless droplets that rained down, and everything fell to the ground under the pull of gravity, just like a sudden downpour.

’This ”River Shatter” seems to be similar to Mountain Collapse. It can make a river disappear completely. Tsk, tsk, that cost me nearly Ten Thousand Points of Chaos Energy.’

After this brief assessment, Wang Yi turned to the stern-faced Bai Xianyi. ”Instead of exchanging intelligence, let’s exchange goods. Do you have any Chaos Blind Boxes? If you do, we can talk. If not, the conversation is over!”

Bai Xianyi paused, taken aback. ”You want Chaos Blind Boxes? It seems you’re a Chaos Lord, then?”

”Your friend was hunting me down. How could you not know who I am?”

”I truly do not. My friend has yet to tell me the specifics. I am Bai Xianyi from Changqing Island.”

”Sun Wukong of Huaguo Mountain!”

Wang Yi gave a casual reply. Now that he had finished testing his abilities, he was ready to find Jiya and challenge her to a duel.

Just then, however, Bai Xianyi produced a Gold Blind Box. She tossed it lightly in her hand and said, ”We Adventurers don’t have Chaos Energy, so we can’t open these. I can give you this Chaos Blind Box. All you have to do is answer my questions. If I’m satisfied with your answer... one question, one blind box!”

’Holy shit, one blind box per question! Did I just run into a blind box tycoon? What a baller! How many of these does she have?’

Wang Yi let out a laugh, his attitude shifting in an instant. ”Miss Bai, please, ask away! I’ll be sure to tell you everything I know and hold nothing back. However, how about we talk on the move? Could I possibly hitch a ride on your airship?”

”Why? Can the Great Saint not fly?”

”Does that count as the first question?”

”No! Forget it. Great Saint, please board the airship!”

Bai Xianyi guided the Steam Airship to the ground and invited Wang Yi aboard. Her expression was calm and composed, as if she had no defenses up against him whatsoever.

’Is this woman that strong? She saw what I can do, and she’s still not afraid to invite a wolf into her den?’

Wang Yi mused to himself. With the power of six mountains and six rivers inside him, and the Monkey King guarding him from the outside, he certainly wasn’t afraid of Bai Xianyi.

After picking up the Universal Experience Book that Wei Shenming had dropped, Wang Yi boarded Bai Xianyi’s Steam Airship. He pointed toward the A22 ruins and cupped his hands in a gesture of thanks. ”Miss Bai, I appreciate it. You can start asking your questions now!”

”Please, sit!”

Bai Xianyi was like an investigative reporter or a corporate lawyer; she exuded an air of professional calm and seriousness.

She set the Steam Airship to autopilot in the direction Wang Yi had indicated, then sat down across from him. ”First question, the same one as before: who are you?”

”The Monkey King of Huaguo Mountain, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven Sun Wukong! Don’t I look the part?”

”I’m sorry, but liars don’t get blind boxes. Second question: have you accepted the world-clearing quest?”

”Yes! Now, the blind box!”

”You...”

Bai Xianyi’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly, but she still took a Green Blind Box from the Storage Bracelet on her right wrist and casually tossed it to Wang Yi. ”Please, elaborate.”

”That counts as another question, by the way!”

Wang Yi caught the Green Blind Box, feeling quite pleased with himself. He fiddled with it as he spoke, ”That’s right. I did indeed receive the world-clearing quest. An Awakened named Mr. Jin issued it to me. The specifics are to eliminate the first Divine, the source of all calamities—in other words, the master of Eco-Technology, Source Body Jiya. Taking out this big boss means clearing the game!”

”Jiya?”

”That’s right, Jiya! Does that count as a question?”

”Of course not!”

”Then hurry up and ask your next question! I’m really in a rush.”

Bai Xianyi pursed her lips, then placed a Green Blind Box on the table in front of her. ”Tell me everything you know about Source Body Jiya. Don’t lie. If I’m satisfied, there will be more blind boxes for you.”

”Fine! Then listen carefully.”

Wang Yi fiddled with the two Green Blind Boxes. ’For the sake of these blind boxes, I guess I can cooperate with her for a bit,’ he thought. He began slowly, ”First, Jiya is probably female. Second, she looks down upon the world from high in the sky, controlling all of Eco-Technology. Third, she’s a Player!”

”A Player?”

”Correct. I don’t know what her status is, and I’m not sure if she’s a Sufferer. She might not be an Adventurer or a Chaos Lord, either. My guess is that she’s a Player from a much older era than us.”

Surprisingly, Bai Xianyi showed no sign of shock at his words. She even nodded. ”You’re probably not lying. The fragmented information I’ve gathered also led me to suspect the existence of ancient Players. We likely aren’t the first ones to arrive in this world. Continue.”

As she spoke, Bai Xianyi placed another Green Blind Box on the table.

Wang Yi was overjoyed. The third blind box was his!

Beaming, Wang Yi gathered the three blind boxes in front of him and continued, ”Jiya and I communicated briefly. She knows I’ve accepted the world-clearing quest. She took a high-and-mighty stance, demanding my submission and even threatening me. I don’t know if she’s naturally arrogant or has some ulterior motive. In any case, my impression is that she’s petty and short-sighted. She is, however, quick to act. She’s already making moves to eliminate me, refusing to give me any chance to grow stronger. She wants to stamp out this potential threat as early as possible. You have to admit, she’s really putting in the effort—something other villains could learn from!”

”That part was just your personal speculation and opinion. It contains very little useful information, so no blind box for that,” Bai Xianyi stated. ”So, do you still intend to complete the quest and eliminate Jiya? How do you plan on doing it?”

”Steamroll her! A full-frontal firepower assault!”

”Please elaborate. Tell me your battle plan!”

As she spoke, Bai Xianyi produced another Green Blind Box, but she kept her palm pressed down on it, not yet handing it over.

Wang Yi narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, ”I’ll have my eldest son bombard her with nukes, send the Heaven-Howling Dog to bite her, summon a great flood to drown her, use mountains to crush her, and send the Monkey King to charge at her. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll call upon the Celestial Soldiers and Generals, the Four Heavenly Kings, and a hundred thousand lightning bolts to swarm her! If she’s still not Undying after that, I’ll do it all over again. If she’s still not Undying after two rounds... Mad, I’ll just go lie low!”

Bai Xianyi frowned!

She felt that Wang Yi was just spouting nonsense. She retracted her hand from the blind box. ”If you’re unwilling to tell me, then forget it. Next question—”

”Wait, wait, wait! I’m telling you the God’s honest truth!”

”Nonsensical honest truth, you mean!”

”That’s the one!”

”In any case, your answer was not satisfactory. No blind box. You’d better answer the next questions properly...”

”There won’t be any more questions! It’s too difficult to give you an answer you find ’satisfactory.’ I’m out!”

”You don’t want the blind boxes anymore?”

”A man has to draw the line somewhere. I tell you the facts, you declare you’re ’not satisfied,’ and I get nothing. It’s a waste of my time and energy. I’m not going to let you lead me around by the nose for a few measly blind boxes. So, I’m leaving...”

”Wait. This time, as long as you give me a serious answer, I’ll give you the blind box.”

”Then give me one now as a show of good faith!”

”Fine!”

Bai Xianyi gritted her teeth and handed over the fourth Green Blind Box.

Wang Yi nodded. ”Not a bad show of good faith. We can continue.”

”Have you ever encountered a King Deity? What are your thoughts on the Divine, this strange form of collective life? Do you have any information on the old world’s Eco-Technology? Do you believe such technology is real, and can it be replicated? If one wanted to kill a Divine, is there a universal, feasible, and genuinely effective method...?”

Wang Yi felt like he was facing a thesis advisor and a job interviewer all at once.

Bai Xianyi had a lot of questions, all of them highly professional. She went on to ask about the Eco-Technology warrant, the world anomaly, the Incarnation Divine, and even Wang Yi’s personal abilities.

Wang Yi answered what he could and simply shouted, ”Pass!” for the ones he couldn’t.

Eventually, Bai Xianyi ran out of questions. In total, Wang Yi had only managed to get six Green Blind Boxes.

’Didn’t we agree on one blind box per question? How did I end up with so few!’

Wang Yi was inwardly dissatisfied. He knew Bai Xianyi had at least one Gold Blind Box left. ”Miss Bai,” he said, ”those Chaos Blind Boxes are useless to you. How about you consider selling them to me? Or we could trade. I’m sure there are things you’re in need of.”
