Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 169: Chapter 158: Source Body Jiya, Ancient Player

Wang Yi quickly took out the Ghost Gate Thirteen Needles.

Whether they were useful or not, he grabbed all of them and swiftly pierced them into the space between Mr. Jin’s eyebrows.

But Mr. Jin showed no signs of improvement. In fact, glowing cracks appeared on his skin, making him look as if he might shatter at any moment.

”My high-dimensional friend, this thing may save a life, but it cannot save an ecosystem. Don’t waste your effort. My fate is already sealed; it cannot be changed!”

With a forlorn expression, Mr. Jin looked at Wang Yi and gave a gratified smile. ”My high-dimensional friend, you truly are an existence capable of changing the world! Perhaps you really can kill the Source Body and completely change this world. It’s a pity... I won’t be able to see the Source Body’s end, nor what this world will become in the future!”

Wang Yi put away the useless Ghost Gate Thirteen Needles and said, ”That might not be true. Sir, you don’t have to be so disheartened!”

Mr. Jin gave a wry smile. ”I can feel it. She is coming! The Will of destruction is about to descend. Leave. Go find the Blast Source Crystal and the Sky Ship. Go and create a brand new future!”

After speaking, Mr. Jin seemed to find peace with everything. He closed his eyes and stretched out his arms as if to embrace the world. The glowing cracks on his body began to multiply rapidly.

”Hang in there! Don’t give in to fate!”

Wang Yi raised a fist and swung at Mr. Jin. A solid PUNCH landed right on his nose, knocking Mr. Jin’s eyes open again. He was stunned!

”Love’s Iron Fist! Mr. Jin, don’t give up! I’m giving you some emergency treatment! If you have any important intelligence, hurry up and tell me! And if you have any Treasures, hurry up and give them to me!”

Wang Yi shouted as he continued to pummel Mr. Jin with his fists, having now activated his newly acquired skill, [No-Damage Attack].

His attacks were vicious, each punch landing solidly and forcing Mr. Jin to stumble backward. But in reality, every punch was harmless. They even had a Healing effect, providing benefits such as refreshing the mind, detoxifying, dispelling evil, and increasing resistance to blows—the advantages were numerous.

It was unclear which of the No-Damage Attack’s effects was at play, but the speed at which the glowing cracks appeared on Mr. Jin’s body had clearly slowed.

”Friend, oof! Her descent, ouch! It seems to be obstructed... Hah! This is amazing! Oh yeah, that feels good! No, argh, She’s still descending... Heh, it’s only been delayed slightly. Hit me harder! Aim for the face! Put some power into it!”

Mr. Jin roared in pain while simultaneously wearing an expression of pleasure, his entire demeanor changing drastically.

”Don’t just enjoy it, Mr. Jin! Hurry up and give me my goodies!”

Wang Yi kept throwing punches.

He had come looking for Mr. Jin with fantasies of unlocking a new storyline or getting some kind of reward.

’I could even try attacking Mr. Jin,’ he thought. ’He’s going to be terminated anyway. If I attack him, maybe the system will give me a reward after he’s gone!’

’Though, the chances of that are slim.’

But to Wang Yi’s surprise, Mr. Jin actually pulled a dark red ring from his clothes. ”This Storage Ring, oof, I can give it to you! Hah! Hit me again!”

Wang Yi took the ring, and with a single glance, he saw its Attribute Information.

[Ring of Burnt Ashes: Hidden Item. Contains 30 Storage Compartments. Currently holding: one Green Blind Box, one Green Chaos Egg, one Small Money Bag!]

”Alright, not bad! Mr. Jin, please continue!”

Wang Yi was delighted. ’I’m a genius,’ he thought to himself. ’If I hadn’t insisted on saving him with Love’s Iron Fist, I never would have gotten this hidden item, right?’

However, it seemed Mr. Jin had been squeezed dry. He produced no more items and offered no more intelligence. After Wang Yi punched him a dozen more times, he no longer had a look of pleasure on his face. Instead, he said gravely, ”She is about to descend. I’m still going to be erased after all. It’s too late. You need to leave, now!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the golden cracks on Mr. Jin’s body multiplied rapidly and then burst outward.

The next moment, a blinding light erupted from within Mr. Jin. He violently transformed into a glowing vortex, and a tremendous force simultaneously blasted out, shoving Wang Yi away.

”Mr. Jin, hang on!”

Wang Yi shouted, but there was no reply.

Within the glowing vortex, a figure quickly materialized. The light emanating from it was too bright for Wang Yi to make out any distinct features; he could only vaguely discern a humanoid shape, which also seemed to have a pair of wings.

”Mr. Jin, are you still alive?”

Wang Yi yelled, already preparing to retreat.

But strangely, the figure inside the glowing vortex actually responded. It spoke with the voice of a young girl: ”He is already gone. I erased him!”

”Hm?”

Startled, Wang Yi immediately pulled out a grenade and threw it into the glowing vortex. The grenade vanished without a trace the moment it entered, as if it had vaporized instantly.

”Heh heh, you foolish creature!”

Laughter echoed from within the glowing vortex.

Wang Yi frowned, tossed two more grenades into the glowing vortex, and then pulled out an RPG he’d acquired from the A22 ruin’s armory, firing a round into it.

But none of these attacks had any effect on the glowing vortex.

Refusing to give up, Wang Yi pulled out a heavy machine gun and began to open fire.

It was also useless. As the bullets entered the glowing vortex, they seemed to vaporize and disappear instantly.

”You think such crude physical attacks can harm me? Heh heh, what other tricks do you have? Go on, use them all! You don’t have much time!”

The voice, clearly filled with scorn, came from the glowing vortex again.

Wang Yi stopped his attack instead. He frowned and asked, ”Are you a Sufferer?”

”You can think that, but I... do not admit to it!”

Wang Yi narrowed his eyes, his expression turning serious. In a low voice, he said, ”You are... Jiya!”

”You finally figured it out! Hehehe...”

A woman’s light laughter came from the glowing vortex. ”There are many ways to clear this world, but you just had to choose the hardest one. Although the system placed us on opposing sides, by choosing the mission to destroy me, you have offended me. And offending me means you must suffer my punishment. So, Player Wang Yi, Little Lord of the Golden Sparrow Country in the Typhon World, kneel and beg me for mercy. If I’m in a good mood, perhaps I won’t punish you.”

”Heh!” Wang Yi chuckled. ”To think that the first Divine, the source of all disasters, Source Body Jiya, is actually a Player!”

”Oh, you guessed it! Not bad, I am a Player! Keep guessing, see what else you can figure out. Here’s a hint: I look down upon this little world, I rule its ecosystem... I’m a high-dimensional being, you know!”

”You... you’re an ancient Player? A Player from before our time?”

”Ooh, you got it right again? Looks like you’re not completely stupid after all. Guess again. Keep guessing. Make a bold guess!”

Wang Yi narrowed his eyes and said, ”My guess is that you’re a failure, someone who was eliminated. That’s why you’re in this situation. The system turned you into a BOSS. You’re not much stronger than those Sufferers! What do you have to be so proud of? Do you really think you’re a god who rules the world? You’re just pathetic and pitiable!”

”Shut up! You hateful little brat, you’re so annoying! I’m angry now! You should be afraid. The system can’t restrain me. I’m not going to just sit here and obediently wait for you to destroy me. I will come for you, and the consequences will be severe!”

”How severe?”

”Within three years, I’ll turn you into a Sufferer and make you stay in this world forever. How about that? Scared yet? If you kneel and beg for mercy now, there’s still a chance you’ll be forgiven, you know! Better get to it!”

”Three years? I can’t wait three years!”

”Can’t wait? What do you mean? Are you thinking of leaving this world by killing yourself? Heh heh, that’s useless. Once my Divine Body has fully matured, I’ll come find you to ’play’. Believe me, I won’t keep you waiting too long!”

Wang Yi fell silent for a moment, then said, ”Perhaps our reunion will come sooner than you think!”

”You ignorant little child! Oh dear, I’m out of time. What a pity I can’t let you understand just how magnificent I am! Ah well, until we meet again!”

The figure in the glowing vortex suddenly vanished. The vortex itself quickly dimmed, and after a few more breaths, it disappeared as well, leaving nothing behind.

Suddenly, Wang Yi received another system notification: ”Ding! Warning! The body of the King Deity Liu Nan is about to completely collapse. A destructive explosion is imminent. Please evacuate the area immediately. Detonation countdown: 30 minutes...”

”Ding! Warning! Please evacuate immediately to avoid being caught in the blast!”

”Looks like there are no more goodies to be had!”

Hearing the system alerts, Wang Yi sighed. The information he’d just obtained was a bit shocking, and his mood grew heavy. He didn’t dwell on it further, put away his heavy machine gun, and strode off to command his Soldiers to retreat quickly.

Before long, the Galaxy Airship took off, and the small train started moving as well.

Wang Yi led everyone toward the A22 ruin.

A short while later, a mushroom cloud rose silently from Transcendence Valley.

At the same time, as Xue Shentian was leading his weary soldiers back to the main camp, a flash of light appeared before him, revealing an Intelligence Scroll.

====

Intelligence 1: The King Deity Liu Nan has been destroyed. The ecosystem within a hundred-li radius will soon be reshaped. Within ten days, the surrounding Earth Deities will converge on the Kun City ruin to carve up Liu Nan’s ecological territory.

Intelligence 2: The continent will now begin to gestate a new King Deity.

Intelligence 3: The special Divine Iron Sword Immortal in the ruins of Yi City is no longer suppressed and has begun its fourth Spirit Transformation. In ten days, there is a 90% chance it will become the new King Deity.

Intelligence 4: The Will of an ancient Player has briefly descended, causing minor adjustments to the world’s ecosystem.

Intelligence 5: To the Northwest, three kilometers away, there is a small band of wandering Goblin Warriors. Displaying great martial strength to them will allow for easy recruitment.

====

”What’s the point of all this intelligence? It would be more useful to tell me where I can find a Treasure Chest in the wild!”

Xue Shentian shook his head but then issued an order: ”All soldiers, listen up! Change course to the Northwest! Three kilometers, Rapid Marching Army!”

Li Mingli cleared his throat and said, ”Your Highness, allow me to make a suggestion. In the future, you shouldn’t personally lead the troops. Just command from the main camp and dispatch the squads one by one!”

Hearing this, Xue Shentian nodded and said, ”That makes sense. As the commander-in-chief, I shouldn’t take to the field so easily! Alright then, all soldiers, hear my order! First, escort me back to the main camp!”
