’Two Green Construction Drawings appeared, not bad. But to think the grand prize is an ancestral chamber pot... What use do I have for that? I’ll choose the Automatic Cooking Machine!’

Wang Yi made his choice, and a square, sheet-metal cabinet that looked like a refrigerator, wrapped in a golden glow, appeared before him.

This was the Automatic Cooking Machine. It was some kind of black tech with an infinite power source—put ingredients in, and it automatically made a meal!

Of course, it was also rapidly undergoing an Enhancement.

A few moments later, the Enhancement was complete, and Wang Yi suddenly received a system notification: ”DING! Your Automatic Cooking Machine has been enhanced and has mutated. Congratulations on obtaining one Gourmet Processing Plant!”

’A Gourmet Processing Plant! What kind of setting does this world even have? Is the black tech really this insane?’

Wang Yi looked forward again. The sheet-metal cooking machine was gone, and in its place was a square building, five or six meters long and wide. It looked as if it were made of colored glass, like some kind of sci-fi Rubik’s Cube, with a pitch-black opening on both the front and back.

Name: Gourmet Processing Plant

Description: This is a small-scale, highly automated Gourmet Processing Plant. It is non-hazardous, pollution-free, and has an infinite energy source. It caters to popular tastes and can automatically process almost any ingredient into a delicious meal. However, the factory’s AI is relatively limited, and its recipe book is quite simple. A single ingredient can often only be processed into one type of finished product.

Function: [Automatic Cooking] Enhance +8, enhanced into [Gourmet Production Line]. Equipped with an instruction manual. Please follow the instructions to place ingredients into the raw material supply inlet. Once processing is complete, the food will be automatically packaged, delivered, and logged in a processing and production record. This factory will automatically recycle processing waste and convert it into energy, leaving behind no production refuse.

Warning: Please do not insert spoiled food, non-food items, or large living entities to avoid machine damage. If the Gourmet Processing Plant is damaged, it can be repaired using Chaos Energy. Please explore the specifics on your own.

’Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous! First a Crossbow Machine Carriage, now a Gourmet Processing Plant. This has to be a world filled with black tech, right?’

Wang Yi slapped his forehead but quickly ordered Man Datou to bring over a Crispy-Skinned Chicken. After a brief inspection, he tossed the entire chicken into the Gourmet Processing Plant’s raw material supply inlet—the black opening at its front.

Less than two minutes later, at the Gourmet Processing Plant’s food outlet on the back, a fragrant, golden-brown roasted chicken appeared, already in its own wax paper bag.

On the front of the bag were the large words ”Golden Roasted Chicken,” and the back read: ”Product of the Gourmet Processing Plant. Made from one whole Crispy-Skinned Chicken, roasted with a Secret Technique. Weight: approximately 3.75 pounds. Shelf life: one month. Easy to digest and will not cause gastrointestinal distress. Suitable even for those who have been starving for a long time!”

’Golden Roasted Chicken! Easy to digest? This is so insane... but I love it!’

Wang Yi licked his lips, tore open the wax paper bag, and grabbed the Golden Roasted Chicken. He immediately began to devour it with great relish, his mouth filling with savory juices as he cried out in satisfaction.

’This is delicious! If I had a black tech Gourmet Processing Plant like this back in my original world, I definitely could have turned my life around!’

Wang Yi sighed with emotion, then held a chicken leg out to Man Datou. ”Here, Big Head, get yourself a drumstick!”

Man Datou grinned, swallowing the small drumstick in a single bite without even spitting out the bones.

In fact, the bones of a Crispy-Skinned Chicken were so brittle and crunchy they were completely edible!

”Delicious!”

Man Datou praised.

Wang Yi said, ”Great. Now that we have the Gourmet Processing Plant, we don’t have to worry about how to deal with all those Crispy-Skinned Chickens. Come on, Big Head, let’s get to work and make some Golden Roasted Chicken!”

”Yes, Master!”

Man Datou responded and began working with Wang Yi. He was responsible for transporting the Crispy-Skinned Chickens to the Gourmet Processing Plant, while Wang Yi waited to collect the Golden Roasted Chickens, just like on a mass-production line.

In less than two hours, all the Crispy-Skinned Chickens had been processed. The bags of Golden Roasted Chicken were piled together, forming a small mountain.

’Next up is building the Chaos Warehouse. I need to store all this Golden Roasted Chicken as soon as possible!’

Wang Yi looked with satisfaction at the fruits of his and Man Datou’s labor. He then took out the Construction Drawings for the Chaos Warehouse to examine them, guessing that the required wood and stone would have to be gathered by hand.

Just then, a small, sallow, and emaciated boy wearing roughspun clothes emerged from the tall grass in the distance.

He was leaning on a wooden staff, wearing straw sandals, with messy, tangled hair and a small basket on his back. He looked to be about eleven or twelve years old and was sniffing the air, apparently drawn by the aroma of the Golden Roasted Chicken.

But as soon as the child saw the over-two-meter-tall Man Datou, he was so frightened he fell to the ground, burst into tears, and screamed, ”Mama! A giant! Help me!”

’An NPC or one of the Indigenous People?’

An idea struck Wang Yi. He immediately waved to the skinny boy and called out, ”Hey, kid, don’t be afraid! We’re good people. Come on over and let’s talk!”

Then he shouted to Man Datou, ”Big Head, grab him! Don’t let him get away!”

A moment later, the sallow and emaciated boy was dragged before Wang Yi.

Sweat beaded on his forehead, and he didn’t dare move a muscle.

Behind him, Man Datou was devouring a roasted chicken, bones and all, his teeth crushing them with a loud CRUNCH, CRUNCH.

Wang Yi sized up the little boy and asked, ”Kid, what’s your name?”

”Zhang... Zhang Xiaohu!”

Zhang Xiaohu was terrified and didn’t dare to look up.

Wang Yi patted his shoulder and asked, ”Where do you live?”

”R-Replying to you, sir... I live in Stone Village. Stone Village is about a mile to the east! Sir, please let me go! Look, I’m really skinny, and I haven’t bathed in a month. I-I won’t taste good!”

”Who wants to eat you?!”

Wang Yi muttered, but didn’t bother explaining much. He continued asking, ”What’s the situation in your village? How many people are there? Does anyone in the village know Martial Arts? Are there any who practice Cultivation? Any Magic Apprentices, or people who cultivate Fighting Spirit?”

Zhang Xiaohu stared blankly, not understanding a word. He just kept kowtowing and begging for mercy.

”Answer my questions properly, and I’ll spare you. Otherwise, I’ll skin you alive and eat you!”

Wang Yi’s expression was cold. Having transmigrated here, he deeply yearned for any kind of Extraordinary Power.

”Oh, oh...”

Zhang Xiaohu knocked his head on the ground repeatedly. Then, under Wang Yi’s questioning, he slowly began to describe his village.

According to his description, it seemed this Otherworld had no Superpowers, no Cultivation, no Magic, and no Fighting Spirit.

However, he was just a child with a limited perspective, so Wang Yi didn’t completely believe him.

Furthermore, according to Zhang Xiaohu, Stone Village lay about a mile to the east and had some thirty-odd households.

They were very poor, living off the mountain, but they could barely make ends meet. There was no fertile farmland nearby, so the villagers had very little to eat. Zhang Xiaohu himself had been out foraging for wild vegetables.
