The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 758- Titles Vs Titles, Horn of Calamity Stopped? (2)

No, it would be more appropriate to say that his entire body collapsed.

”What?”

Karina’s eyes narrowed.

Victor’s flesh flowed downward. His body became a mass of black, viscous matter that splattered across the ground.

He wasn’t dead. It was simply an ability.

[Aetheric Metamorphosis].

At that moment, Victor’s voice emerged from the viscous liquid. His wanton laughter echoed.

”Hahaha... It’s no use. Physical attacks pose no danger to me. My ability [Aetheric Metamorphosis] allows me to dissolve any part or my entire body into a liquid-like state.”

The gooey mass wobbled, quickly condensing together to form Victor’s body.

”Hahaha... You cannot defeat me. Blades pass through me. Impacts disperse, and most skills simply can’t pierce through my demonic energy. Nothing can harm me. I have become the most perfect race.”

Victor chuckled.

The next instant, his claw shot toward her. The speed was so fast that it could barely be registered. Free of any form, his attacks were unpredictable and swift.

Karina crossed her daggers.

BOOM...

But the impact sent her crashing through several tents.

Luminweasel immediately darted after her.

”You see? I’m far more powerful than your master. Although I admit, you are a one-in-a-million genius, your talent is incredible and your Demonic Marking control is extraordinary. However, it is too soon for you to confront me. Unlike yours, my markings are perfected. I call it Stigma. A god-like ability that grants incredible power and life force.”

Victor laughed and extended his hand once again.

”If you come to me, I can perfect the marking on your body. I could make you stronger. You don’t have to serve that human.”

While he rambled on and on, Karina rose slowly from the wreckage. Dust slid from her black suit, and blood trickled down from her cherry lips.

In a single exchange, she was injured. Although the injury wasn’t grave, Victor wasn’t using his full strength either.

”Think about it. You have seen what humanity truly is. Fearful of the unknown. Fragile, that even a single casual attack could injure them. And limited by their vision. But me? I have surpassed all of this. No, I have transcended above humanity. Why waste your existence protecting creatures that can barely survive?”

From his words, one could see that he no longer saw himself as human. And indeed, he could no longer be regarded as one.

”You talk too much.”

Karina’s fingers tightened around her daggers.

Victor smiled.

The next second, the battle started once again.

Karina disappeared from her place, utilizing her swift speed to continuously adjust her position and find any opening.

In response, Victor simply smiled and stood his ground. His posture relaxed.

When Karina’s attack came, his body turned into liquid, and the dagger passed directly through his chest.

He laughed.

”Hahaha, too slow...”

Right then...

SHING...

Luminweasel emerged from the space behind him and cut off his head, words stuck on his throat.

Victor’s body wiggled, and the gooey substance once again reattached his head.

Once complete, he looked at the beast.

”That little thing...”

The weasel landed on Karina’s shoulder. Its cute green eyes stared at Victor.

Victor’s expression twitched.

”It is ridiculous that something that adorable is that dangerous.”

That level of sharpness... if not for his ability, even he would have feared for his life.

Karina’s lips curved faintly.

”You still don’t realize.”

”Realize what?”

”No matter how much stronger you become or evolve into something as disgusting as that, you can never defeat Master Reinhardt.”

That confident smile of hers irked Victor. That smile that looked down on others, it was the same as those knights from his memories. They looked down on him due to his lack of talent. Their eyes contained disgust for his methods, trying to undermine him at every point.

Hate...

He hates all of them. He hates this world that is unfair.

He wants to destroy everything.

He was no longer the same.

BANG...

He suddenly lashed out, turning into liquid and rolling on the ground. In less than a second, he reached Karina’s place.

A gooey substance formed into claws and slashed forward.

Karina tried to dodge, but the arm suddenly extended, and the claw tore open several bloody gashes on her body.

Karina was sent backward, crashing onto the tent. Blood bloomed around her.

”Don’t you dare lecture me.”

Victor reformed, snarled at the blood-soaked woman.

This time, he really didn’t hold back. Although the woman dodged at the last second, the gash was deep enough to reach the bones.

Unlike his [Stigma], the inferior Demonic Marking did not grant rapid regeneration.

That attack decided the outcome of the battle.

Yet to his amazement, Karina gasped and slowly stood up.

Green and red mixed on her daggers.

”Hehe.”

”What’s so funny?”

Victor’s pupils narrowed.

”You still don’t realize. You are so arrogant and obsessed with yourself that you do not consider the life and death of others. You believe that you can become stronger by discarding humanity, but in fact, you are only admitting your inferiority. You don’t understand the meaning of true strength.”

The usual Karina would not talk so much. Her temperament was cold and aloof. However, right now she could not help but pour out her emotions.

Perhaps it was due to meeting Victor again. The man who used her and then discarded her like waste. Or perhaps it was for herself. Letting out all the emotions that she had been holding inside her all this time.

Karina recalled the memories where Reinhardt saved her, guided her, and made her feel like she was a human and not some test subject.

That warm feeling, she instinctively reached out to grab it.

At that moment, something changed.

Unbeknownst to her, the markings on her body began to change. The glow on them turned from a dark shade of red to a faint yellowish-white color.

Karina fiercely rushed forward, her body vanishing from the spot.

Victor’s liquid form surged upward, and the two collided again.

Demonic energy and emerald light exploded through the battlefield.

Karina held on for a while but was soon overwhelmed.

Right when she was about to be flung back from the impact, a vast power poured into her from the unknown.

Her feet scraped the ground, and her daggers fiercely blocked Victor’s claw.

Then the both of them were sent backward by the impact.

What?

Victor gathered himself and looked at Karina with disbelief.

Did she grow stronger?

Indeed, she did.

But that was not all. As a great scientist who was well-versed in all kinds of physiology, he could distinctly tell that he had suddenly become weaker.

The demonic power inside him suddenly rioted, causing more than half of his power to disperse.

What was going on?

Feeling something, his eyes immediately darted upward, and then he saw it...

A golden dome suddenly descended across the sky, engulfing the entire human camp.

Victor’s expression froze. His demonic energy weakened. The black liquid forming his body began to tremble.

Karina also looked at the sky at that moment.

As Reinhardt’s shadow, she knew very well what this skill was.

The oppressive divine energy released by the dome also weakened the demonic power of her Demonic Markings.

After all, the Demonic Markings and [Stigma] were the same, both utilizing demonic energy.

Yet, for some unknown reason, although the demonic power within her body was swiftly being purified, it did not weaken her.

Instead, a new energy took its place and boosted her strength.

It felt as though the entire world had suddenly become friendlier to her.

She muttered in a daze.

”The Sanctum... did Master see this coming?”

No wonder he told her to fight inside the Sanctum.

Victor, who was also staring at the golden sky with a solemn expression, heard her words, and a foreboding feeling rose within his heart.

”Sanctum? What did you guys do?”

He suddenly recalled the suspicious actions of the knights earlier as they fought while retreating deeper, almost as if they wanted to lure them toward the center.

At that time, he dismissed it as not being a trap. But thinking about it now, it really seemed like one.

Did they fall for it?

Feeling his powers being suppressed, for the first time, Victor’s expression carried genuine fear.

”What did you do?!”

Victor’s voice cracked. His composure completely faltered.

He no longer looked like that confident scientist who came to tease his prey. No, now he had become the prey.

The golden dome overhead pressed down upon him like an invisible mountain.

Victor planted both feet into the ground and forced every ounce of power within his body outward.

His demonic energy churned violently.

”Get off me!”

The veins across his forehead bulged. His eyes widened until they appeared ready to burst from their sockets.

His face twisted with such desperate effort that, for a moment, squatting like that, he looked less like a terrifying demon and more like a desperate demon suffering from constipation.

Aaaahhhhh...

His body shook. His muscles swelled. The demonic markings across his body flashed repeatedly.

Yet, the harder he resisted, the stronger the suppression became.
