The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 752- Cattles for Slaughter, the Powerful Sacred Sanctum (3)

Riding on top of its body was Gwen. She raised both her hands and shouted.

”High Tide!”

The whale opened its mouth, and a roaring torrent crashed downward, sweeping thousands of demons away, drowning them under water.

Seeing the gigantic summons of his comrades making waves across the battlefield, Rolan laughed while riding atop his Divine Beast. Shieldtop lowered its three enormous horns and charged.

The gigantic triceratops thundered forward. Every collision sent demons flying. Shieldtop proudly snorted. Even if it was just a High Tier summoned beast and lacked the overwhelming power of the other Divine Beasts, its defense was extremely solid.

Delicia stood behind the towering beasts. Hovering beside her floated a tiny glowing sphere no larger than two fists. At its center rested a gently pulsing heart.

The Void Pupa.

Although small, every skill Delicia cast was amplified several times over by the tiny creature. Dark and holy energy intertwined around it.

As the battle intensified, the little creature suddenly trembled. Its heartbeat became louder.

Thump... Thump... Thump...

Soon, numerous cracks appeared on the cocoon, and something crawled out.

Noticing the change happening, Delicia widened her eyes.

Reinhardt had once told her that although her summoned beast was low tier, it could continuously evolve. Its present form showed its current potential. Low tier, just like Delicia herself, who could not realize her true potential due to her heart knot.

Now that it was resolved and her potential exploded, so did her summon.

Tiny wing-like fins unfolded from both sides. Its body became slightly larger. The once featureless sphere now possessed a faint halo orbiting around it.

The Void Pupa... had evolved into its Second Stage.

Now it could no longer be classified as low tier. In fact, the aura it gave off was no lower than a High Tier beast.

Although still far off from the Sacred Tier beasts that her comrades summoned, it was a step forward.

Delicia smiled.

”We’ll grow stronger together.”

The little creature happily circled around her before releasing a pulse that drastically strengthened all of her attributes.

Silvia, Vangeance, Gwen, Delicia, Rolan... all the members of Silvia’s squad were making waves and names for themselves by holding off an Abomination all by themselves.

So how could the black-haired boy who, in the Magic Knight Entrance Exam, declared in front of Reinhardt that he would defeat the Demon Lord even without possessing any mana... that boisterous boy, be absent?

Kevin rushed toward the Abomination with his comrades. That said, compared to everyone else... he appeared almost ordinary.

There was no gigantic Divine Beast partner alongside him. Nor was his swordsmanship too overwhelming. He only had a large crimson sword and himself.

That said, if anything, he was the most conspicuous of all on this battlefield.

Crimson scales covered one of his arms. A powerful dragon wing extended from his back, while a thick tail swept behind him.

Looking at him, he looked like half-dragonoid, half-human. An ancient race that hadn’t been seen on the continent of Valdonia for over a thousand years.

[Even after breaking through the limit, your body can only handle a little over 3% of the Red Dragon Aura. Still, you have managed to achieve a partial Dragonoid Transformation.]

[Tiamat] spoke inside Kevin’s mind.

A few years ago, back when demons infiltrated the capital of Solaris, deep inside the kingdom’s treasury, a place unknown to even the royal family. He had encountered the bones of an ancient creature who had died there, who knows how long ago.

At that time, [Tiamat], who had chosen him, brought him inside a realm where he met the phantom of a titanic crimson dragon.

Ever since that day, he could use the abilities of that crimson dragon. Of course, just a fragment of it.

Even so... even in this state, his aura continued rising. Beside him, countless dragons of scarlet energy roared with every swing of his blade.

These power attacks dealt far more damage to the Abomination than everyone else. The Abomination too, for some reason, focused more on Kevin.

Trying to bring it down with this meager ability was not going to be easy.

That said, he wasn’t alone. His comrades were with him.

”I can’t sustain this form for long. We need to end this fast,” Kevin stated.

”My words exactly. I haven’t earned the approval of Burma yet. If we drag this, it might just leave on its own.”

”Agreed, let’s increase the intensity of our assault,” Silvia commanded.

The group fought the Abomination with all their powers. Everyone attacked together. Each exchange pushed them closer to their limits.

In the midst of battle...

The sword in Kevin’s hand suddenly vibrated.

[Interesting.]

Kevin blinked, asking, ”What’s wrong, [Tiamat]?”

[I sense a familiar presence.]

Kevin hurriedly dodged the land-destroying attack from the Abomination, who had suddenly transformed and become more powerful.

”What do you mean?”

[I sense a familiar presence coming from that woman.]

Although [Tiamat] did not point, due to them being extremely familiar with each other, he knew who it was talking about.

”You mean Dame Erza?”

[Yes.]

Kevin frowned. ”What’s familiar about her? Don’t tell me her sword is like you?”

[Tiamat] did not answer immediately. Instead, it tried to sense that familiar power coming from the woman named Erza more intensely.

[I was not wrong; it really is familiar.]

”Is it really true? Her sword is also like you?”

[Tiamat] wanted to roll its eyes at this idiot.

[No, how can there be another existence like me? I am unique. I was created by the Primordius Dragon himself. Not even the Seven Gods have the power to reproduce my existence.]

Its voice carried unmistakable pride.

Kevin scratched his cheek, laughing despite the intense battle.

”If it’s not that, then what did you sense?”

[I sensed a familiar draconic power coming from her. It’s similar to you.]

”Could it be that she too absorbed the power of a dragon?”

[How can just anyone absorb the power of a dragon? Moreover, she is a human. Unlike you, the draconic presence is coming from her armor.]

Hearing this, Kevin’s eyes widened.

”Her armor?”

[Yes. It carries the aura of an ancient dragon. And judging from its purity...]

Tiamat’s tone became unusually solemn.

[It is no ordinary dragon.]

.

.

”So this is the human camp?”

Victor Voss stood at the edge of the encampment, looking down at the patch of land that was being used by the humans.

Compared to the demon camp, this place was pitifully small. Rows of simple tents stretched across the land. Wooden barricades and crude watchtowers had been erected wherever possible.

But there were no towering fortifications, no enormous defensive structures, and certainly no artificial walls capable of rivaling a city. It almost looked primitive from his view.

Victor adjusted his monocle.

Then again, perhaps that was to be expected. The humans had inherited almost nothing from the ancient era.

The demons were different. They had inherited the remnants of an age that was regarded as the Era of the Gods. Their technology, their weapons, their methods of construction, even their methods of manipulating demonic energy were generations ahead of anything humanity possessed.

Victor remembered the first time he had seen it. The first time he had entered one of their underground facilities after defecting.

He had been so shocked that he could not calm down for a long while. It was like coming to a whole different world.

Machines that should not have existed. Artificial organs capable of sustaining impossible amounts of energy. Weapons that could alter the structure of living matter. Knowledge and technologies far ahead of their time.

That was when he realized something. Humanity had already lost.

But his dream of human evolution... it was still possible.

His fingers slowly rose toward his neck. He touched the black markings engraved into his skin. A simple circular mark with a certain tribal style.

This was no Demonic Marking. That technology was crude, unable to realize his dream of human evolution.

The one on his neck was different. He had refined and improved the mark until it was perfected.

The mark on his neck, he liked to call it.

”[Stigma.]”

A faint smile appeared on his lips.

Evolution through continued adaptation. That was the future. There was no training needed. It did not matter whether you possessed talent or not. You did not need to depend on the Altar to recognize your efforts.

Simply by grafting this [Stigma], one could reach the pinnacle of power.

This was evolution.

Just as he was reveling in his thoughts...

BOOOOM...

An explosion erupted in the distance. Victor turned his head to look at the place. The ground shook, several tents collapsed beneath the shockwave.

Victor’s eyes narrowed slightly.

”That direction... that must be Varakos.”

Their two groups had been ordered to cooperate with each other and destroy the human camp by Lord Astaroth.

But Victor had no intention of doing so. He had his own pride. He wanted humanity to understand his greatness.
