The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World

Chapter 757- Titles Vs Titles, Horn of Calamity Stopped?

It seemed this Abomination too possessed another phase.

The second form of the Blightheart Colossus rose from the crater. Its body was no longer shaped like an ordinary earthworm. Although still very large, its elongated mass now resembled a gigantic buried organ with countless fleshy tendrils stretching from its body.

The heart pulsed rhythmically, spreading a sound that induced hysteria and fear.

Thump... Thump... Thump.

Every beat sent waves of corruption through the earth.

Looking at its current form, Vanessa finally understood why it was called Blightheart Colossus.

At the core of its body was a monstrous heart capable of converting the life force of the land itself into demonic energy. It did not merely corrupt the earth. It absorbed the vitality from the earth, reducing it to nothing but dead, corrupted land.

The creature, after transforming, set its sight back on Vanessa. Since it had no eyes anymore, one could only guess from the position it was facing that the other party was looking at you.

Countless tendrils shot toward Vanessa.

In response, she raised her hand, and a holy barrier appeared.

BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...

The same move, and the results were the same. One tendril after another smashed against the barrier, unable to break it.

Vanessa smiled.

That thing evolved? But so what?

Holy energy under the Divine Sanctum intensified around her.

”Unfortunately for you...”

She looked toward the vast golden dome surrounding the battlefield.

”...you evolved inside our camp.”

The Divine Sanctum erupted.

BOOOOOOM...

Golden light flooded the battlefield.

KIEEE...

The Blightheart Colossus screamed. Its enormous body began smoking as divine energy saturating the place penetrated every layer of its flesh.

Its tendrils shriveled, and the rhythm of its monstrous heart started slowing down.

In a desperate attempt, the Abomination released more corruption. But every wave was instantly purified.

The more it fought back, the more severely it was suppressed.

The creature tried to push forward, but it couldn’t. It wanted to burrow, but couldn’t.

The demonic energy in its entire body was locked down, making it seem like a beast caught in a cage.

Amidst all this, Vanessa slowly descended. Her expression was relaxed.

”This Sanctum...”

She extended her hand, pointing toward the dome in the sky.

”...is the bane of your kind.”

Her words were not only meant for the Abomination but for all the demons inside it.

She observed the battlefield, seeing that everyone was alright and things were under their control. She decided to finish this battle.

Feeling the danger through its instincts, the Colossus roared. Its countless tendrils surged, trying to attack in a desperate attempt.

Vanessa didn’t move.

Amidst the white holy energy, there were small speckles of gold mixed in.

That’s right, mixed with the Holy Energy, there was another kind. Extremely inconspicuous but there. An energy far more powerful than holy.

As they came together, becoming smaller and smaller until everything gathered into a tiny orb of light floating above her palm.

It was no larger than a pearl. Yet the moment it appeared, everything around it became unnaturally quiet. Even the battlefield seemed to hold its breath.

Vanessa looked at the Blightheart Colossus.

”[Ultimate Skill: Holy Genesis].”

Then the tiny orb slowly started drifting toward the Abomination.

Of course, to the eye it looked slow, but it was impossible to dodge.

The light orb arrived before the Colossus and seamlessly disappeared inside it.

For one instant, nothing happened.

But then, all of a sudden, from the center of the Blightheart Colossus, the entire Colossus began to vanish.

No, disintegrate. Not burn, or explode, simply ceasing to exist.

The light spread outward from the point of contact, breaking the creature down layer by layer, molecule by molecule, until even the most minute remnants of its corrupted existence were reduced to nothing.

The Colossus’ heart shrank, and the next second, it ceased to exist.

The demons who witnessed the destruction of the Blightheart Colossus stood frozen.

The enormous Abomination that had crossed the battlefield like an unstoppable calamity in the past battles had simply... disappeared. Erased from existence.

Cold sweat trickled down the backs of several demons. Their earlier confidence vanished.

They had come here believing they were the hunters. They had believed the human camp was weakened prey, waiting to be devoured.

But now...

Forget about destroying the humans’ camp, their own survival was at risk.

Inside the [Divine Sanctum], the suppression was absolute. Demonic energy continuously disintegrated the moment it touched the golden domain.

The abilities that the demons were so proud of, what had once allowed them to overwhelm the knights, were severely weakened.

Their bodies, their senses, their regeneration, even their thoughts seemed slower.

Meanwhile, the knights continuously grew stronger.

The deadlock from earlier was gone. What remained was a slaughter.

A demon swung its claws. But it was easily blocked by a knight. The knight’s counterattack pierced straight through the demon’s chest.

Another demon attempted to cast a high-ranking magic. But the spell broke apart before it could leave its hands.

A third tried to sneak attack. It barely took three steps before a blade descended, cleaving the demon in half.

One after another... they fell.

At this moment, the demons finally realized.

The humans had deliberately left their camp vulnerable to lure them in. The entire place was a trap, and they had walked right into it.

They were no longer the hunters. Quite the opposite. They were cattle, and the slaughterhouse had already closed its doors.

...

A few minutes earlier...

In another corner of the camp, a fierce fight broke out.

Victor and Karina were locked in fierce battle.

By now, Victor had completely abandoned his human form. His body had transformed into a terrifying fusion of man and demon.

Black flesh covered his torso like living armor. His left arm had become enormous and elongated, ending in a claw with several jointed talons.

Two enormous wings projected from his back, covered in demonic markings.

His face remained partially human, but black veins ran across his cheeks and forehead, while a pair of crimson eyes glowed beneath his monocle.

The Stigma at his neck had expanded across his body and was glowing with an eerie light.

At this moment, he no longer looked like a scientist. He looked like a monster born inside a laboratory.

The terrifying power oozing out of his body was no weaker than an ancient Demon General like Varakos, who had lived for more than 300 years.

Yet Karina showed no fear. She was like a streak of black and green. Too fast and lethal.

Her twin daggers flashed repeatedly, transforming into twin serpents. One aimed for the throat, another at the ribs. Then a feint toward the eye before she twisted in midair and attacked the exposed abdomen.

Victor blocked the attacks. Dodged two, but one managed to cut across his shoulder.

Blood splashed.

However, Victor simply laughed.

”Excellent. You keep getting better. The more excellent you are, the more I want you.”

Karina did not answer. Her attacks only accelerated further.

Beside her floated a mass of black cloud. At first glance, it looked like an ordinary patch of darkness. But within it, a tiny animal peeked out.

A weasel.

Its body was small and adorable. Its soft fur was almost entirely black, and two tiny green eyes blinked innocently.

Anyone seeing it for the first time might have thought it was harmless.

However, that assumption could bring one’s downfall. Just like Victor, who almost got killed by it.

The little creature was a Sacred-Tier Divine Summon. Luminweasel. A Slayer-class beast.

Its entire body was a weapon. Its claws, teeth, tail. Even the strands of fur covering its body possessed an unnatural sharpness capable of cutting through anything.

”Go.”

Receiving Karina’s command, the adorable weasel suddenly vanished into the black cloud.

A second later...

SHING...

That very cloud emerged beside Victor’s wing. The entire wing was sliced open. Blood flowing like a fountain.

Victor hurriedly retreated, still looking at ease. Rapid regeneration kicked in, healing his wounds in a couple of seconds.

”Tch... This beast. What kind of thing is it?”

As knowledgeable and accomplished as he was, even he couldn’t understand what this beast that could turn into a weapon was.

Karina provided no explanation. She simply extended her hand, and the weasel, covered in a dark cloud, directly turned into a crescent-shaped blade with no blade handle.

The thing floated next to her hand, and then with a swift command, it disappeared.

Like a blade that could travel through space, it appeared before Victor without any trace.

Seeing the latter try to resist, Karina remained impassive.

As a Slayer-class, Luminweasel did not possess a powerful body or elemental powers like those Royal-class summoned by Silvia, Gwen, and the others.

However, in terms of lethality or killing, nothing surpassed the Slayer-class.

Victor raised his hand as the sickle-like Luminweasel swept down.

Blood spurted or so it should have been.

But at the moment the sickle cleaved down, Victor’s entire body melted.
