School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 639: Chapter 713: Dragon’s Lair, Tiger’s Den

As her words fell, Han Yuting’s face flushed all the way to the base of her neck.

Although she was not usually very shy, for an eighteen-year-old girl, confessing like this was extremely embarrassing, especially since she knew the other party already had a girlfriend and she was essentially trying to steal him away.

Chen Nan knew Han Yuting had feelings for him, but hearing her say it outright still somewhat surprised him.

After all, she was also a campus belle!

Facing the stunningly beautiful Han Yuting, Chen Nan embarrassingly gulped, ”Well... Yu Ting, you’re joking, right?”

Seemingly having forgotten her shyness, Han Yuting looked up affectionately at him, shook her head, and said, ”I’m speaking sincerely. You can accept me, or you might not give me an answer, but you definitely cannot reject me. This is the only request I have as your current friend.”

Chen Nan fell into silence.

It was impossible to say he felt nothing for Han Yuting.

However, compared to Su Qingqing, his feelings for her weren’t as strong yet, so Chen Nan was conflicted about how to respond to her.

After hesitating for a while, Chen Nan changed the topic: ”By the way, isn’t it time for the afternoon nap? Why are you also at Green Square?”

He had intended to tell Han Yuting that he had some feelings for her too, but he worried that if he were honest, it could end up just like with Su Qingqing, who might not be able to accept his flirtatiousness, leading to awkwardness.

That incident had not affected his relationship with Su Qingqing.

However, Chen Nan wasn’t sure if the same thing happened with Han Yuting, whether she would be able to maintain the friendship as Su Qingqing had, especially since her personality wasn’t as outgoing and straightforward.

After staring at Chen Nan for a while, Han Yuting asked, ”Are you ignoring me?”

Chen Nan shook his head and said, ”Listen to you, our relationship, in men’s terms, is like sworn brothers, purely ironclad. How could I ignore you?”

Han Yuting hesitated for a moment and then, somewhat stiffly, stepped forward and took Chen Nan’s hand: ”Then why did you change the subject instead of answering me directly?”

Chen Nan shrugged helplessly and replied with a smile, ”Didn’t you say I might choose not to answer?”

”Actually, I’d prefer to hear your answer,” Han Yuting said, not sure if it was due to being moved deeply or being too focused, but the blush on her face gradually faded as she continued, ”If you don’t answer, isn’t that a roundabout way of rejecting me?”

Chen Nan didn’t say anything.

It was not that he was speechless, but he was deep in thought.

At a time like this, he needed to speak his heart without deceiving her yet also think clearly before speaking, as carelessly saying the wrong thing could hurt someone emotionally and even impact their existing relationship.

Sounding a bit dejected, Han Yuting said, ”If this makes you uncomfortable, then forget it, I won’t push for an answer.”

”Don’t start imagining things. I’m just thinking about how to express myself clearly,” he replied.

Chen Nan shook his head and continued, ”If I liked you, I would definitely admit it. If not, I would tell you straight, to not waste your youth. I admit, I might have felt a momentary flutter of the heart for you, but right now, I genuinely don’t know whether these feelings are like or love, so until I figure it out, I can’t give you an answer.”

”I understand,” Han Yuting nodded and said, ”Then I’ll head back to the dorm first, you continue wandering around.”

Chen Nan quickly grabbed her hand and said with a smile, ”Hey, we’re such close friends, and now that I’m bored, you’re just going to leave me here not to chat? That doesn’t seem very righteous, does it?”

With a playful smile, Han Yuting replied, ”You’re not giving me an answer and making me nervous, so I’m not staying to chat, bye.”

Watching her walk away, Chen Nan shook his head with a wry smile.

He lit a cigarette, but just as he took a puff, his phone rang—it was Su Qingqing’s number.

”Hey kiddo, what’s up?”

Chen Nan answered with a smile, but a man’s voice came from the other side: ”Chen Nan, right? Su Qingqing is in my hands, her life and death depend on your reaction.”

Chen Nan immediately asked anxiously, ”Who are you?”

”Don’t worry about who I am, just know that I could kill my entire family, I am your enemy, you only need to know that I am a powerful avenger,” the man coldly laughed, ”I give you ten minutes to come alone to Yue Mountain Peak or, once time passes, I will kill Su Qingqing.”

As his words ended, the caller hung up.

When Chen Nan tried calling back, the man had already turned off his phone.

To confirm whether Su Qingqing was really with the caller, Chen Nan dialed Liu Tiantian’s number.

Since the school dorms were clustered together, with boarding students in one area and day students who took naps in another, Liu Tiantian’s and Su Qingqing’s dorms, though they were not in the same class, were in the same room.

Just as Chen Nan finished asking his question, the startled Liu Tiantian screamed out, saying that Su Qingqing was indeed missing, and the dorm room door was open, suggesting someone had entered.

Chen Nan had no time to check the dorm, so he opened his phone’s GPS and rushed towards Yue Mountain.

He was well aware that none of his enemies were benevolent, and this man, being vengeful, was more ruthless than most. If anything happened to Su Qingqing, he would never forgive himself.

For that girl, even knowing it was entering a den of dragons and tigers, he had to make his way through.

Although the enemy might have set a trap at Yue Mountain Peak, Chen Nan still went forward without hesitation, for in his heart, her life was more important than his own.
