School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 638: Chapter 712: Han Yuting’s Confession

”You bastard, you dare to run, stop right there!”

Lan Yuqin took off after him, but by the time she got outside the office, Chen Nan was long gone.

After bolting down four floors, Chen Nan finally breathed a sigh of relief. It wasn’t that he intentionally wanted to oppose Lan Yuqin, but that little girl was just too fierce. He had no choice but to run! Was he supposed to just stand there and wait for death?

He had no idea that at that very moment, outside the office, Lan Yuqin was grinding her teeth, swearing to catch him.

”What kind of karma did I create in my past life to run into such a shrew?”

Chen Nan sighed, feeling his fate was truly tragic. He couldn’t even return to his classroom, so he lit a cigarette and slowly started walking towards Green Square.

”Chen Nan, what are you up to?”

Han Yuting ran over from not too far away, her face full of bewilderment as she looked at Chen Nan.

”It’s all because of that lunatic Lan Yuqin chasing me here,” Chen Nan said somewhat helplessly, smiling at her. ”I think I must have committed some serious sins in my last life to meet such an ’outstanding’ second-rate teacher in this one.”

”Maybe you owed her from a previous life!”

Han Yuting jokingly said, running over to check on Chen Nan. Her expression turned slightly disappointed as she asked, ”Can I ask you something?”

Chen Nan was taken aback, ”What’s there you can’t ask, go ahead.”

”Well...”

Han Yuting seemed hesitant and took a while before she finally said, ”You said that Xinya is your younger aunt, but what’s with you two now?”

”What’s with us? There’s nothing between us!”

Han Yuting stared at him without blinking, clearly not quite believing him. She pouted and said, ”You’re lying. I’ve seen it all on the forum.”

Chen Nan truly wanted to beat up the person who had sneakily taken pictures and posted them online. Wasn’t this just looking for trouble due to sheer boredom?

Chen Nan knew Han Yuting had feelings for him, and he had a bit of interest in her as well, so he pretended not to care: ”You mean that? What’s so strange about a hug? Haven’t I hugged you before? Does that mean we have something going on?”

”You’re making stuff up...”

Han Yuting’s face was a mix of embarrassment: ”When... when have you hugged me? I don’t seem to know about this.”

Chen Nan said lightly, ”Let’s not talk about the distant past; I hugged you last night. After you fainted, I was the one who carried you to Jiang Xiaomi’s house.”

Han Yuting’s face turned red, ”Um... after I fainted last night, I didn’t talk nonsense, did I? If I did, just pretend you didn’t hear it.”

Chen Nan was startled at first, then he smirked, ”Well, you did talk, and I heard everything loud and clear.”

”Ah?”

Han Yuting’s face grew even redder, ”I... what did I say?”

”You said you liked me and wanted to be with me.”

Han Yuting hung her head and turned away. Though she was extremely nervous, she couldn’t help but ask, ”And then... what... what happened after that?”

”After that...”

Just as Chen Nan was about to continue, he stopped and asked, ”You really don’t remember?”

Han Yuting, with her face blushing, shook her head.

Chen Nan sighed, ”You said that you can’t stop thinking about me, that you even dream about me at night, and that you would marry no one but me. You hoped I could give you an answer.”

Han Yuting’s face was so red it looked like it could bleed, ”Did I... really say that?”

”Yeah,” Chen Nan nodded, ”You not only said it, but your hands were also quite naughty. While I was holding you, your hands were all over me, saying you wanted to grow old with me and never part.”

Han Yuting was completely overwhelmed with embarrassment.

She asked Chen Nan right away because she heard from Jiang Xiaomi that it was Chen Nan who brought her over last night, and she had a dream last night in which Chen Nan was there, and the two were very affectionate and romantic.

That’s why she asked Chen Nan the moment they met whether she had said any nonsense last night.

With her head bowed, Han Yuting didn’t dare to look at Chen Nan. She was continuously twisting the hem of her shirt, her palms sweaty, and it took her a good while to hesitantly ask, ”So... what did you answer me, then?”

Chen Nan stared at her for a moment, ”You really don’t remember?”

Confused, Han Yuting shook her head, casting him a bashfully shy glance, ”Then... what exactly did you answer me?”

Chen Nan chuckled, ”Have you ever heard the saying, ’A man chasing a woman is separated by mountains, a woman chasing a man by only a layer of gauze’?”

A surge of joy filled Han Yuting’s heart.

Could it be that Chen Nan agreed to her last night?

But doesn’t he already have his junior sister? How could he agree to me then? Could he have had a change of heart regarding his junior sister?

Overcome with excitement, Han Yuting was about to ask Chen Nan if what he said last night still counted, but at that moment Chen Nan was looking at her with a mischievous smile, his lips curling into a smile as he teased, ”Look at that thin skin of yours blushing up to what extent.”

”Annoying.”

Han Yuting rolled her eyes at him, her face turning even redder.

Chen Nan gave a wry smile, ”Stop calling me annoying. Actually, you didn’t say anything last night.”

Upon hearing this, Han Yuting was instantly dumbfounded.

This guy talked so much, but it turned out he was lying all along. Thankfully, she hadn’t asked him if he meant it, or the embarrassment would have been immense.

Logically, Han Yuting should have breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this news, yet, instead, she felt a sense of loss and even wished that Chen Nan had agreed to her last night rather than have lied and teased her.

Chen Nan pinched the top of her head and smiled, ”Do I seem not so annoying to you now?”

”Hmph, pest!”

Han Yuting gave him a glare and trotted ahead.

Chen Nan scratched his head, finding it hard to guess women’s thoughts; he was fine when he lied, but once he told the truth, he became the annoying one.

”Hey, Yu Ting, is your brain okay?”

Chen Nan chased after her, only to provoke an even larger eye roll from Han Yuting, ”You big dummy!”

After saying that, she ran off, thinking to herself, are you really that stupid? Can’t you just understand a girl’s heart? Can’t you see that I like you?

Chen Nan scratched his head and blurted out, ”Hey, do you like me?”

The moment he said it, he regretted it. How could he ask such a thing so directly? It was so embarrassing.

”I...”

Han Yuting was truly rendered speechless by his question.

If she admitted it, it seemed a bit embarrassing, but if she didn’t, it felt too hard to bear.

While struggling internally and unsure of what to do, Chen Nan laughed, ”Don’t be mad, I was just joking with you.”

The little courage Han Yuting had mustered up, ready to admit, collapsed with Chen Nan’s words. It felt as if she had readied herself, fists clenched, but couldn’t throw a punch, and it was suffocating to hold it inside.

Should I say it or not?

Go ahead, I might as well throw away my face; I’ll have to tell him sooner or later anyway!

Han Yuting took a deep breath, clenched her teeth, closed her eyes, and said, ”You’re joking, but I’m not. I admit it, I... I... I really like you.”
