School Beauty's Personal Crazy Young Master

Chapter 510: Chapter 566: Li Xiao Runs into Trouble

Chen Nan, feeling mischievous inside, was just about to tease a bit more, but at that moment, his phone started ringing.

Chen Nan broke into a cold sweat.

It was class time now, and a little laughter with Su Qingqing was harmless, but the phone ringing in the quiet classroom was startling.

Su Qingqing, both embarrassed and annoyed, immediately flashed a mischievous smile upon seeing Chen Nan in trouble.

After sitting up straight, she blinked at Chen Nan and whispered with a giggle, ”You dummy, good luck with that.”

”...”

Chen Nan was speechless.

This girl, always waiting to laugh at his mishaps, was truly infuriating! But now, being the center of everyone’s attention, he couldn’t say much and could only roll his eyes at Su Qingqing.

On the podium, Li Li glanced over, feeling helpless.

Why was it Chen Nan again?

Ever since this student transferred to her class, he managed to annoy her every other day.

She didn’t even want to remember how often such incidents had occurred.

Sometimes when Chen Nan left her at a loss for words, she even wondered if she owed him something in her past life, and if he was here to collect a debt.

Staring at Chen Nan, Li Li tried to keep her patience but ultimately couldn’t help herself, ”Chen Nan, it’s class time; why didn’t you turn off your phone’s ringtone?”

Blinking, Chen Nan looked at the serious-faced Li Li and coughed twice, ”Teacher, my phone is of poor quality; it often starts playing music on its own.”

Li Li was on the verge of going mad. How could this guy come up with such unbelievable excuses?

The other students in the classroom couldn’t help but burst into laughter; this guy was truly something else!

But Su Qingqing, hearing this, pouted angrily.

She pinched Chen Nan hard from behind and muttered to herself: Stupid dummy, how dare you say the phone I gave you is of poor quality? Do you want to die?!”

”Then just set your phone to silent mode!” Li Li said, unable to hide her irritation.

”Yes, I’ll switch it right now!”

With a look of a diligent student, Chen Nan took out his phone and openly fiddled with it, not even knowing who was calling him; it was a good moment to check.

Oh, why is it an unknown number? Then forget it.

Seeing Chen Nan leisurely swiping his phone, Li Li felt like swearing. This problem student, did he really think she couldn’t see his antics just because she didn’t wear glasses today?

”Chen Nan, haven’t you switched it yet? Do you need the teacher to help you with that?”

Chen Nan quickly put away his phone, then nodded earnestly, ”No problem now; thank you for your concern, teacher.”

Li Li shook her head, no longer wanting to argue with him.

She had a premonition that if she continued to bicker with him, she might end up in the hospital.

Picking up the textbook, Li Li was about to start today’s lesson...

Then another ringtone went off.

Grinding her teeth, she looked over; who else could it be but Chen Nan? Only the ringtone had changed; probably this time it wasn’t a call but a text message.

Even if Li Li was the most patient person, at this moment, she couldn’t help but start hopping mad, frowning deeply; she turned red-faced towards Chen Nan, ”Chen Nan, what’s your explanation this time? What happened to setting it to silent? It seems like you’ve taken the teacher’s words as nothing but air!”

Chen Nan opened his mouth, wanting to speak, then hesitated.

Who the hell is this, being so inconsiderate?

Didn’t he know he was in the middle of class? Making a call was one thing, but following it up with a text message, was he trying to kill himself!

Chen Nan felt so helpless.

Tapping his forehead, he stood up and said, ”Teacher, I was wrong. I will go outside and stand for five minutes as punishment.”

Li Li was probably so infuriated that she completely missed Chen Nan’s little scheme.

Hearing Chen Nan say this, although she wasn’t a teacher who loved to punish students, she still nodded vehemently, ”You really should go out and stand for a while, reflect on yourself!”

Seeing that Li Li actually let Chen Nan go out, some of the more cunning students in the class were speechless.

Damn, was Chen Nan really asking for punishment by going out to stand, or was he going out to answer the phone and check his texts?

The students used to think that one had to be at least somewhat intelligent to become a teacher if not a genius. But after seeing Li Li’s response, they all started to doubt their English teacher’s IQ...well, how should one put it, it was truly frustrating!

Li Li had no idea how her students were judging her.

After sending Chen Nan out of the classroom, she actually felt a sense of relief.

This student was just too wicked!

Outside the classroom, Chen Nan had a sighing expression—his English teacher was too kind, not cunning like Lan Yuqin, making him feel a bit guilty about deceiving her.

However, this guilt lasted only half a second before Chen Nan pushed it out of his mind.

What he was concerned about now was why that person kept persistently contacting him.

He took out his cellphone and checked the text message. As soon as he opened it, Chen Nan was stunned.

The message read: ”Hello, I am Li Xiao’s father. There’s something very urgent I need to discuss with you...”

Li Xiao’s father?

How did he know his phone number, and why was he calling him at this time?

Could it be that he knew about his affair with his daughter and was now looking for trouble?

Chen Nan hesitated for a while but decided to call back. A blessing or a curse, it was unavoidable. Besides, Li Xiao’s father was almost like a half father-in-law to him; could he really avoid him forever?

Just as he was about to make the call, his phone rang again.

Now that he knew the identity of the caller, Chen Nan immediately answered the call.

”Hello?”

”May I speak with Mr. Chen Nan? I am Li Xiao’s father, Li Lin. Xiao Xiao has had an accident...” Before Chen Nan could greet him, an anxious male voice came from the other end of the phone.

Chen Nan instinctively furrowed his brows, ”I am Chen Nan. What happened to her? Don’t panic, take your time and explain.”

On the phone, Li Xiao’s father, Li Lin, sounded very flustered, his voice nearly breaking: ”Xiao Xiao has been kidnapped!”

”What?”

Chen Nan was immediately shocked, his voice rising three notches: ”Who did it?”

Li Lin was the chief of the Public Security Branch, and now someone dared to kidnap his daughter. Those kidnappers were really bold!

”This... I can’t explain the details over the phone. Mr. Chen, if possible, could you come to my house?”

Li Lin paused, then pleaded anxiously and helplessly, ”I know it’s a bit presumptuous of me to ask, but before Xiao Xiao was kidnapped, she sent me a message telling me to contact you. Seeing how much Xiao Xiao trusts you, I thought...”

”You don’t need to say anymore, I’m on my way right now.”

Chen Nan immediately agreed and then said, ”Tell me your address...”
