King of the Wilderness

Lin Yu’an spoke as he took out a black card with a special code from his wallet and handed it over: ”Please verify my identity first.”

The manager took the card, entered the code into the computer system, and the information that popped up on the screen made his expression instantly become extremely respectful.

He immediately stood up and respectfully returned the card: ”I’m very sorry, I didn’t know it was you. You are our highest level brand friend, all your gear will be provided free of charge by us.”

In the next hour, Lin Yu’an, like a general inspecting his troops, added one piece of formidable armor after another to his expedition list in an orderly fashion.

”Heavy parka, I’ll need your LEAF, the one for minus fifty degrees.”

”Jacket and pants, Alpha SV series, the color should be the latest storm gray.”

”Shoes, besides the ones on the list, I also need a pair of your Acrux AR mountaineering boots as a backup.”

”Alright, Mr. Lin, all items will be packed for you shortly, and we will notify you when they are ready for pickup.”

Having solved the clothing issue, Lin Yu’an then headed to the largest professional fishing and hunting shop in Fairbanks.

He did not choose those flashy ”collaboration models” or ”master models.”

But instead opted for the brands that had been repeatedly verified to be the toughest and most durable in the circle of professional guides and old hunters.

”Axe, I need a Gränsfors Scandinavian Forest Axe. The axe back must be hardened, the kind that can be used as a hammer.”

”Saw, Agawa Canyon’s Boreal24 frame saw, with two spare saw blades for me.”

”Survival knife, Ace’s number 6 knife, 1095 high carbon steel, with a K sheath.”

”Stinging net and fishing set, follow the highest standard regulations, the line must be the best Dyneema braided line, the hooks must be Gamakatsu.”

...

When Lin Yu’an loaded all the newly purchased top-notch equipment into his Ford Conquest and returned to Wood Forest Land, Aliya was already waiting at the doorstep.

Together, they spread out a large moisture-proof mat on the floor, took out these ”comrades” that would accompany Lin Yu’an for fifty days, and did the final sorting.

Aliya used stickers to completely cover the ”Fossil Bird” logos, which was a requirement from the show’s team for ”de-branding.”

Lin Yu’an was beside her, using a top-grade Japanese Whetstone to sharpen his Ace Survival Knife and Gränsfors Forest Axe until they were razor sharp, the blades glinting with a chilling cold light under the lamp.

He categorized all the gear and packed them into the standard mountaineering backpacks provided by the show team.

Looking at this backpack filled with top-notch gear, the worry in Aliya’s eyes was finally replaced by complete peace of mind.

She knew her man was ready for his next expedition.

This time, he would face the challenge of the Frozen Throne with an absolute king’s stance!

————————

As November approached, Lin Yu’an brought the main team filming task for this season of ”Life Below Zero” to a successful close.

The executive producer Richard Prost personally flew from Los Angeles to the freezing Fairbanks to meet Lin Yu’an.

They would conduct the last project review of the season and take a tour of Lin Yu’an’s cabin and Wiseman Town.

By the warm fireplace in Lin Yu’an’s cabin, Richard looked at the man in front of him, who had become more robust and whose gaze was steadier than six months ago, his face filled with undisguised admiration.

”Lin, I must say, you’ve exceeded my expectations,” Richard said, shaking the whiskey in his hand, the ice making a crisp clinking sound.

”I watched all the footage David sent back, it’s amazing! Truly amazing!”

David added, his tone filled with the excitement of a director: ”Yes, Richard, especially the building of the cabin and the mutual help among neighbors.”

”That kind of collaboration scene, I’ve never seen in all my years of filming reality shows! It’s real, powerful, filled with the collective resistance against nature’s shared characteristics of humanity!”

Richard nodded: ”You didn’t just achieve all the initial goals we set—integrating into the community, establishing a home—you even did more.”

”You built genuine friendships with the local residents and conducted community shared hunting, perfectly interpreting the spirit of mutual help in Alaska.”

”You even... you even managed to grow fresh vegetables in that godforsaken place!”

He leaned forward, his tone becoming more excited: ”Do you know what this means? We originally intended to shoot a hardcore survival story.”

”But you gave us a grand narrative composed of elements about home, community, and unity!”

”This has gone beyond typical reality shows; it’s a truly significant documentary on how humanity watches over each other in extreme environments!”

”I just did what I was supposed to do, thanks to the neighbors’ help,” Lin Yu’an replied calmly.

”No, you did far more than that,” Richard shook his head.

”Our post-production team has already edited an independent, three-episode special of Wood Forest Land for you.”

”We have a premonition that when it airs in February next year, you and your home will become the brightest stars of the whole series!”

Richard’s emotions began to gradually calm down, and then he talked about future collaboration.
