Evan did everything he could, but he was unable to move his body no matter what he tried.

The skeleton steadily closed the distance between them, and when it was only twenty meters away, Evan suddenly felt all the restrictions on his body disappear.

He could finally move again.

Evan immediately ran away from the place where he had been standing.

And just as he moved away—

BOOOOOOM!

The huge sword came crashing down on the spot where he had been standing moments ago.

Evan looked back with horror-filled eyes as a massive crater, nearly ten meters wide, appeared where he had just been standing.

Despite the shock in his heart, Evan didn’t stop running after breaking free from the restriction. He quickly increased the distance between himself and the skeleton.

”Just what the hell was that?” Evan asked himself in a shaky voice.

After calming his mind, he quickly began analyzing what had just happened.

”Maybe that sword strike was some kind of skill that releases a shockwave, similar to my Shockwave Severance. And whoever gets hit by the shockwave will have their movements restricted.”

Thinking about this, Evan took a deep breath, but he couldn’t help feeling a sense of fear inwardly.

’I was restricted for nearly three seconds before I could move my body again. If the skeleton can close the distance between us during that time, it will be game over for me.’

Evan continued moving away from the skeleton while thinking about the situation.

If he wanted to attack the skeleton’s joints, he would have to get close to it.

And if the skeleton used its restriction skill at that moment, he would undoubtedly be killed.

While maintaining a safe distance from the skeleton, Evan continued thinking of a way to avoid its skill.

’What if I jump up the moment the shockwave comes near me?’

Evan thought of this method, but he wasn’t sure whether it would work because he hadn’t been able to properly see the skill the last time the skeleton used it.

Thinking for a moment, Evan maintained enough distance from the skeleton and waited for it to use its skill again.

Three minutes later, the skeleton suddenly stopped.

It raised its gigantic sword and slammed it onto the ground.

BOOOOOOM!

The moment the sword struck the ground, a powerful shockwave spread out in all directions.

Evan watched carefully as the shockwave rapidly approached him.

The shockwave was extremely fast, but because he was paying close attention to it this time, he was able to see it coming.

Just before the shockwave reached him, Evan jumped into the air with all his strength.

With more than 200 points of Strength, Evan was able to jump nearly five meters into the air.

And to his delight, when he landed back on the ground, he wasn’t affected by the skill.

’It worked.’

A hint of excitement flashed through Evan’s eyes.

Now that he knew he could avoid the shockwave by jumping high enough, he could finally start attacking the skeleton.

After using its skill, the skeleton once again began moving toward Evan.

But this time, Evan didn’t run away.

He also moved toward the skeleton.

When Evan was only ten meters away, the skeleton suddenly swung its gigantic sword toward him.

Evan focused all of his attention on the incoming attack and at the last moment, he dodged the sword strike by rolling across the ground.

Before the skeleton could strike him again, Evan quickly stood up and dashed toward its right leg.

He quickly arrived beside the skeleton’s leg, looking like a dwarf standing before such a giant.

But Evan didn’t care.

He tightened his grip around the Black Star and swung it toward the skeleton’s knee joint.

CLANG!

A metallic sound rang out as the sword collided with the skeleton’s black bone.

Although Evan had expected this, he was still shocked when he saw that only a white mark had appeared on the skeleton’s knee joint after his sword strike.

However, he quickly regained his composure and immediately shifted his position.

Since Evan was constantly moving around the skeleton’s leg, the Colossal Skeleton couldn’t use its sword properly.

It tried to use its free hand and leg to attack Evan instead, but Evan easily dodged its attacks and continued striking the same knee joint with his sword.

SWOOSH! CLANG! SWOOSH! CLANG!

His sword repeatedly struck the same spot.

Three minutes later, Evan had attacked the exact same location more than fifty times while continuously evading the skeleton’s attacks.

Just then, the skeleton suddenly raised its sword again, just like it did every time before using its skill.

When Evan saw this, his eyes flashed. He quickly jumped up and grabbed the skeleton’s leg, holding himself above the ground.

Since the skeleton couldn’t do anything else while using its skill, Evan took advantage of the opportunity and continued attacking its knee joint.

The skeleton slammed its sword onto the ground.

BOOOOOOM!

Shockwaves were released in all directions.

However, Evan was holding himself above the ground while attacking the skeleton, so he remained completely unaffected by the shockwave.

A strange sound came out of the skeleton’s mouth when it realized that its enemy was unaffected by its skill and was still attacking its leg just like before.

However, the skeleton couldn’t do anything to stop Evan.

Whenever it tried to attack him with its hand or leg, Evan easily evaded the attacks because of his superior Agility.

Just like that, three hours passed.

Evan was panting heavily after fighting for such a long time, but there was still a smile on his face.

”Just a little more, and its knee joint will be destroyed,” Evan said in a tired voice while looking at the skeleton’s severely damaged knee joint.

Because of the severe damage to its knee joint, the skeleton could no longer move properly, and its speed had become even slower than before.

Evan had also discovered that the skeleton couldn’t use its skill repeatedly.

It could only use the skill once every three minutes.

”Just a little more effort...” Evan muttered and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

But just at that moment, the skeleton, which could barely move properly anymore, suddenly opened its mouth wide and let out a strange roar.

”ROOOOOAR!”

Evan was startled by the skeleton’s roar and couldn’t help wondering what it was planning now.

However, the next second, his eyes widened in disbelief.

The colossal skeleton’s body suddenly began to shrink.

Its enormous five-meter-tall body rapidly became smaller and smaller until it was almost the same size as Evan.

At the same time, the knee joint that had been on the verge of being completely destroyed suddenly recovered.

Even more shocking was the fact that the skeleton’s black bones, which had previously looked as hard as black steel, had now turned slightly purple and appeared even more durable than before.

Evan stared at the skeleton with wide eyes, his heart turning cold.

All the effort he had put into destroying its knee joint over the past three hours had disappeared just like that.

”I must be dreaming. It’s not real.”

Evan muttered to himself, still unwilling to believe what he was seeing.

However, the skeleton, which had now become the same size as Evan, didn’t give him any time to recover from the shock.

BOOM!

The ground beneath the skeleton’s feet sank as it suddenly charged toward Evan.

Its speed was much faster than before.

In the blink of an eye, the skeleton appeared in front of Evan and slashed at him with its sword, which had also shrunk to around two meters in length.

Although Evan was still shocked by everything that had happened, his body reacted instinctively.

He immediately raised his sword and parried the skeleton’s attack.

CLANG!

The force behind the collision pushed Evan several steps backward.

Although the skeleton’s Strength had decreased after shrinking in size, it was still stronger than Evan.

At the moment, Evan was panting heavily because of all the attacks he had made against the skeleton during the past three hours.

But all the damage he had inflicted on the skeleton had disappeared the moment it shrank.

As a result, Evan was completely exhausted while the skeleton was completely unharmed.

’I am in trouble...’

Feeling the powerful aura coming from the skeleton, Evan knew that if things continued like this, he would definitely not be able to defeat it.

Although this skeleton’s strongest aspect was its defence and its other stats were average, it was still not something that he could easily defeat.

The skeleton suddenly swung its sword again.

Evan quickly dodged the attack and took several steps backward.

He took a deep breath, and his eyes turned sharp.

’I’ll do what I can, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll just use Mana.’

Evan stared at the approaching skeleton.

’Although I really want to complete my evolution requirements, my life is more important.’

With that thought, Evan tightened his grip around the Black Star.
