The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 48: Chapter 48: Studying Together

Yiyi remembered that her mother was actually very good at embroidery and had made a beautiful little dress for her when she was young.

But at that time, Old Mrs. Mo scolded her mother fiercely, saying she was doing useless things and not focusing on serious matters. Moreover, Mo Guowei handed all the money to Old Mrs. Mo, so her mother didn’t have money to continue with embroidery since buying fabric and thread costs money.

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but sigh.

”I haven’t picked up a needle and thread for a long time.”

”Mom, then tomorrow you can buy some needles and thread and some handkerchiefs, try a little embroidery—you’ll definitely regain the feeling.” Yiyi also knew that if you don’t do something for a long time, you would naturally become rusty.

Mo Xiaohong didn’t know about Ding Yuejun’s embroidery skills, but she also thought that her mother should stay at home and rest; otherwise, no one would be taking care of the family. ”Yes, Mom, you’d better not go looking for a job. Just listen to Yiyi and buy some needle and thread to try embroidery at home; maybe you can even make money from it.”

Seeing both of them say so, Ding Yuejun didn’t mention going job hunting anymore. She just nodded and said, ”Okay, I’ll buy the needle and thread tomorrow.” Actually, she loved embroidery deeply, but since marrying into the Mo family, she hasn’t had much opportunity to embroider. This skill was taught to her by the foster mother who adopted her.

Yiyi was relieved to see her mother finally abandon the idea of job hunting.

The next morning, Mo Xiaohong had breakfast and was ready to go to work at the food factory.

”Xiaohong, if you get off work early, just come home for dinner, and then you can go to work the next day in time. Now that we’re all living in town, it’s much more convenient than before.”

Upon hearing Ding Yuejun’s words, Mo Xiaohong nodded and said, ”Okay, then I’ll come home for dinner tonight.”

”Alright, we’ll wait for you to come back and have dinner together.” Ding Yuejun smiled and nodded, already starting to plan what dishes to buy.

Meanwhile, after breakfast, Yiyi began to study, but not long after she started, she felt some headache. Previously filled with ambition, she now realized that studying can be quite challenging, with so many knowledge points to absorb. But since she wants to apply to university, she must study hard, so she settled down and continued to read slowly.

”Yiyi, do you want to rest for a while?”

Seeing her daughter had been reading for two hours, Ding Yuejun couldn’t help but feel a bit concerned.

”Mom, I’ll read a little longer.”

Yiyi hadn’t noticed the time; if her mother hadn’t mentioned it, she wouldn’t have known two hours had passed. But soon she realized, ”Mom, weren’t you going to buy needle and thread? Why haven’t you left yet?”

”I’m just about to head out with Shanshan. Will you come with us or continue studying?”

Yiyi thought for a moment and decided to stay home, ”Mom, I’ll stay home; you and Shanshan go ahead.” She had been busy with various matters recently; now she finally had time to settle down and study. Upon seeing the books, she felt urgent pressure. If she doesn’t work hard to improve her grades, she wouldn’t be able to get into medical school, not to mention even the slightly less prestigious universities.

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Ding Yuejun didn’t say more and eventually went out with Mo Shan.

Yiyi read for a while before standing up to stretch, her mind still occupied with the content she just read, but soon she was interrupted.

”Yiyi, Yue Jun, are you home?”

Upon hearing Old Mrs. Jiang’s voice calling from outside, Yiyi quickly went to open the door, ”Grandma Jiang, what brings you here? Come in and sit.”

”I made some marinated meat and brought some for you to try.” Old Mrs. Jiang said as she placed the plate on the table, then asked, ”Yiyi, are you home alone?”

”Yes, Mom and Shanshan went out.”

Upon hearing this, Old Mrs. Jiang didn’t inquire further; she just placed the marinated meat, but then her gaze fell on the book opened in front of Yiyi, ”Yiyi, are you studying? You are the same age as Xueluo; are you going to be in twelfth grade next semester?”

”Yes.”

Yiyi nodded directly.

”That’s great; Xueluo was just studying at home too; you two can study together and might increase efficiency.”

Yiyi was a bit tempted.

She had been studying for so long and didn’t quite understand some places; if Jiang Xueluo knew them, that would be great. Hence, without much hesitation, Yiyi said directly, ”Grandma Jiang, then I’ll study with Xueluo; I happen to have some points I don’t understand and want to ask him. I wonder if it would disturb him.”

”It won’t; it won’t disturb him at all. Yiyi, let’s go over now.”

Old Mrs. Jiang was very fond of Yiyi and happily took her back home, ”Xueluo, Yiyi is here, you two study together.”

Jiang Xueluo took a look at the two of them, then turned to Yiyi and said, ”Let’s study together; I’m currently reviewing the first-year textbooks.”

”That’s great; I’m also reading the first-year textbooks, but there are several places I don’t get. Can I ask you about them?” Yiyi hurriedly pulled out her textbooks and her notebook to sit down.

Before Jiang Xueluo said anything, Old Mrs. Jiang had already spoken up beside them, ”Of course you can; Xueluo’s grades are pretty good, so if you have any questions, you can ask him.”

Jiang Xueluo didn’t say much and just glanced at Yiyi’s notes, then started answering attentively.

Yiyi saw that Jiang Xueluo really knew the answers, so she listened carefully, proactively asking questions about things she didn’t understand.

Seeing the youngsters had started studying, Old Mrs. Jiang left smiling to prepare some fruits.

Time passed unknowingly while studying until Yiyi came to realization that it had been an hour and a half, and all her previous questions were answered, ”Thanks, Classmate Jiang; without you, I truly wouldn’t understand those points.”

”You’re welcome. If you have any questions in the future, you can ask me again.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi’s eyes lit up, and she quickly asked, ”Will you be staying at Grandma Jiang’s during this period?”

”Yes.”

Upon hearing this, Yiyi truly felt happy, ”Great, I’ll come find you tomorrow; we’ll study together.”

Just then, Old Mrs. Jiang came to pour tea for the two of them, and upon hearing their conversation, she beamed with joy, ”Yiyi, then tomorrow you should have lunch with us here, so you can study longer.”

”No need, Grandma Jiang, we live so close; I’ll just go home for lunch.” Yiyi said this and quickly went back home, fearing that Old Mrs. Jiang might try to keep her for lunch again.

Upon arriving home, she happened to encounter the returning Ding Yuejun and her niece Mo Shan.

”Yiyi, were you at Aunt Jiang’s house earlier?”
