The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 43: Chapter 43: All About Building a House

Mo Guoping was stunned when he heard Old Mrs. Mo speak.

”Mom, what are you talking about?”

Seeing her youngest son in shock, Old Mrs. Mo felt frustrated. She used to think her youngest son’s family was harmonious, but now she realized she was wrong. Guoping was utterly obedient to Qian Yafen, which was disappointing. ”I’ve made myself clear. Today she must take out the money to build the house, or you two should get a divorce.”

”Grandma...”

Initially, Meina remained quiet on the side, but hearing that, she couldn’t keep silent any longer. ”Grandma, even if my mom was wrong before, she shouldn’t have to divorce my dad. If a perfectly good family gets divorced, it won’t be a family anymore.”

Mo Ke Fei, who hadn’t spoken until now, also joined in. ”Yeah, Grandma, my parents have always been doing fine. There’s no reason for them to divorce.” At the end, he looked at his mother and said, ”Mom, Grandma’s suggestion is actually pretty good. You should take the money you’ve earned and use it to build the house.”

In truth, Mo Ke Fei also harbored resentment towards his mother.

He hadn’t been informed about his mother opening a small restaurant. He was the only male in the Mo family and her own son. Yet, she kept him in the dark, allowing her brother to benefit instead. Didn’t she consider him? If the family had a tall building, it would not only be comfortable but advantageous for him to marry in the future.

Qian Yafen looked at Mo Ke Fei incredulously. But when she saw the resentment and blame in her son’s eyes, her heart ached.

Why was she working so hard? Wasn’t it for this family? She had considered telling others about the restaurant, but knowing Old Mrs. Mo’s temperament, she held back, hoping to save more money first. But plans couldn’t keep up with changes; her earnings were exposed prematurely.

Seeing her mother hesitate to answer, Mo Ke Fei grew increasingly unhappy. ”Mom, what are you hesitating for? Since my uncle’s family has built a house, we should also do it quickly.”

Seeing her son’s casual expression, Qian Yafen couldn’t help but shake her head. Did he think building a house was that simple? Besides, she didn’t have enough money right now.

”Ke Fei, it seems your mom doesn’t want to build a house for the family. You’ll suffer for it later. Instead of living in a bright building, you’ll be stuck in a low, dark house.” Old Mrs. Mo cast a sidelong glance at Qian Yafen, stirring the pot.

Even Mo Guowei looked disapprovingly at his wife.

Seeing the Mo family member’s expressions directed at her, Qian Yafen felt bitter. She thought she’d done well enough, fostering harmony at home. But when something really happened, this is how they pressured her.

But Mo Ke Fei was, after all, her son, and Qian Yafen couldn’t bear to see him disappointed. ”Fine, we’ll pick a good day, and our family will start tearing down and rebuilding the house.”

”Mom, are you serious?”

Qian Yafen suddenly agreed, leaving Mo Ke Fei a bit in disbelief, followed by immense joy. ”Mom, that’s wonderful! Once the house is built, we’ll have a building to live in.”

Currently, there weren’t many families in Luwei Village building houses. If their family did it, they’d be the first in the village; just thinking about it was exciting.

Seeing her son so happy, Qian Yafen suddenly felt it was worth it. Although she might not have enough money, she was close, and if necessary, she’d borrow some.

Old Mrs. Mo saw her daughter-in-law finally relent, her expression improving slightly. However, thinking of how she had money for the house but kept making excuses, her face cooled again.

”I’ll choose a date tomorrow and start the groundwork right away.”

The next morning, Old Mrs. Mo hurried out the door. Since the daughter-in-law agreed, she had to finalize things quickly to prevent any changes.

Meanwhile, Mo Xiaohong headed directly to the yard according to the address.

Ding Yuejun rose early, preparing breakfast. Seeing Mo Xiaohong arrive, she greeted warmly, ”Xiaohong, you haven’t had breakfast yet, right? Come and eat.”

Looking at the golden fried eggs and steaming porridge, Mo Xiaohong’s stomach growled. She smiled and sat down, glanced around, then asked, ”Mom, where are Yiyi and Shanshan?”

”They’re both still asleep. You eat first; I’ll wake them once you’re finished.”

Hearing this, Mo Xiaohong said, ”Mom, let them sleep if they’re still tired. It’s rare they get to sleep in.”

Ding Yuejun had the same thought, so hearing Mo Xiaohong, she smiled and sat down. ”Alright, we’ll eat first, and then invite them when they wake.”

When the two finished breakfast, Yiyi came downstairs with Mo Shan.

Mo Shan, seeing Mo Xiaohong, quickly rushed over, ”Mommy.”

Seeing her daughter, Mo Xiaohong was overjoyed, hugging little Mo Shan, affectionately ruffling her hair. ”Shanshan, are you getting used to living in town these past two days?”

”Yes, very used to it.”

Mo Shan nodded, her voice bright, ”No one here rushes me to wake up, and I don’t have to see anyone’s contemptuous looks.”

Previously, whether in the Jiang Family or Mo family, Old Mrs. Jiang and Old Mrs. Mo always looked at her disdainfully, sometimes even rolling their eyes. Mo Shan instinctively disliked it but dared not say anything then.

These past two days in town, however, were different; worry-free and free, she’d never felt so happy.

Hearing her daughter’s words, Mo Xiaohong felt a pang of compassion, then gratefully looked at Ding Yuejun: ”Mom, thank you.”

Ding Yuejun waved her hand quickly, saying, ”There’s no need to thank me. Shanshan is my granddaughter, and you’re my daughter; taking care of you is only right.”

She’d watched Mo Xiaohong grow up and witnessed Shanshan’s birth, genuinely viewing them as family.

Mo Xiaohong felt even more grateful but refrained from saying more thanks, resolving internally to hand over her entire salary to Ding Yuejun going forward.

Yiyi was also delighted to see her sister arrived. After chatting for a while, she took Shanshan to wash, then both began eating breakfast.

After breakfast, Yiyi suggested, ”Mom, Sister, let’s walk around nearby to familiarize ourselves with the surroundings, then head to the market together to buy groceries.”
