The Rebirth of the Fierce Little Cute Girl

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Ding Yuejun’s Counterattack

After arriving in town, Yiyi and Ding Yuejun headed straight to the police station.

Seeing her daughter’s name on the last page of their household registration book, Mo Xiaohong couldn’t help but tear up, ”From now on, Shanshan is part of our family. Mom will take good care of you as you grow up.”

Yiyi saw this and couldn’t help but say, ”Sister, everything will definitely get better from now on, you should be happy.”

”Yes, I’m happy.”

Mo Xiaohong nodded firmly, then couldn’t resist hugging her daughter. Shanshan was still so young. Even though she lost her father, she would surely nurture her well as she grows up, ”Shanshan, from now on you’ll be Mo Shan.”

”Mom, I like my current name, from now on I’ll have Mo as my surname.” Shanshan’s soft voice sounded, her face full of smiles. She liked being with her grandma and aunt; they never rejected her and never scolded her, so she was very happy now.

Seeing the smile on her daughter’s face, Mo Xiaohong couldn’t help but smile too.

She had originally worried her daughter might not get used to it, but unexpectedly, her daughter was very happy, which was great, showing she hadn’t made a mistake.

”Xiaohong, since we are all here in town, let’s have lunch before heading back.” Ding Yuejun looked at her daughter then at Mo Shan, just feeling both were skinny and small, so they should eat something good, and she rarely was this generous.

Mo Xiaohong heard this and hurriedly said, ”Mom, we should head home to eat, eating in town is too expensive.”

”It’s okay, Mom secretly saved a little money, we can have some good food this time. If I don’t spend the money on you, should I be like your dad, spending it all on the second wife’s Mo Ke Fei and Mo Meina? We’re going to the restaurant now to eat, we’ll order braised pork, scrambled eggs, and stir-fried greens, and finally, everyone will have a big bowl of white rice.”

Actually, she hadn’t saved much; after all, Mo Guowei would never give her money. This money was all saved secretly by doing some needlework, and while not a lot, it should be enough for this meal.

Hearing about these dishes, Mo Shan couldn’t help but swallow her saliva. She only had a chance to eat a piece of meat during the New Year, and not at other times. Now, hearing these dishes Grandma mentioned, she really wanted to eat.

Originally, Mo Xiaohong wanted to refuse, but seeing her daughter’s expression, she swallowed her words, feeling a bit sour. She seemed to never have let her daughter eat well before.

Thinking of this, her eyes filled with deep sorrow.

Yiyi initially also felt it was extravagant to eat at a restaurant, but seeing her niece so happy, she felt it necessary to let Shanshan have a good meal.

When the three of them arrived at the nearest restaurant, Ding Yuejun first asked about the prices of the dishes. Seeing she had enough money, she hurriedly ordered the three dishes, then they all sat down to wait for the food.

At that time, there weren’t many people in the restaurant, so the food was served quickly.

Ding Yuejun saw the scrambled eggs coming first and directly told Yiyi and Shanshan to start eating. ”Yiyi, Shanshan, you both should eat more.” She then picked food for Mo Xiaohong, ”Xiaohong, you also eat more; from now on, you have to start a new life, everything will get better and better, in the future, we can surely eat these dishes every day.”

Hearing Ding Yuejun’s words, Mo Xiaohong nodded confidently and said, ”Mom is right, everything will get better for us from now on.”

The meal was very satisfying for the four of them, and they all ended up stuffed.

”Grandma, this is the best dish Shanshan ever had,” Mo Shan looked at Ding Yuejun, full of joy. Grandma was so much better than Grandma from Dad’s side. At home, Grandma never allowed her to eat such dishes; those dishes were always reserved for cousin Jiang Junsheng, never her share.

Ding Yuejun heard this, touched Shanshan’s head, and then said, ”When Grandma has money later, I’ll take our Shanshan to eat again.”

”That’s great, Grandma is really wonderful.”

Mo Shan clapped her little hands happily, her face full of joy.

Mo Xiaohong also gratefully looked at Ding Yuejun and said, ”Mom, thank you.” ”Silly child, we are a family, what is there to thank, okay, let’s go home now.”

But when they got home, Mo Guowei was angrily waiting there. Seeing Yiyi and the others returning, he immediately stood up, rushed over, and raised his hand to hit Ding Yuejun.

Yiyi reacted swiftly, pulling her mother behind her with one hand and grabbing Mo Guowei’s raised right hand with the other. However, unexpectedly, Mo Guowei, seeing his right hand was caught, quickly raised his left hand and slapped Yiyi across the face.

”Smack...”

The heavy slap sound rang out, Ding Yuejun was directly stunned, and immediately went forward to check her daughter’s right cheek. She saw a red handprint covering Yiyi’s cheek, which was slowly swelling, showing how hard Mo Guowei had hit.

”Mo Guowei, what are you crazy about.”

Seeing her daughter like this, Ding Yuejun was a bit frenzied and directly looked at Luo Guowei and shouted.

Mo Guowei, however, looked at Ding Yuejun hatefully and said, ”Where’s the household registration book? Where’s the family’s household registration book? I already refused you before and told you I wouldn’t let Jiang Shan enter our household registration. Today, the household registration book is gone, and you all disappeared too. Tell me, did you go to town to change the registration.”

Hearing Mo Guowei’s words, Yiyi looked at her mother with some surprise.

So the household registration book was stolen by Mom?

Mo Xiaohong on the side was also full of shock, with both disappointment towards her father and gratitude towards her mother. It turned out the household registration book was stolen by Mom.

Ding Yuejun didn’t expect Mo Guowei to find out so quickly, so she was momentarily at a loss for words.

But Yiyi directly looked at Mo Guowei and said, ”Dad, Shanshan has already been granted to my sister, so she definitely should enter our household registration, unless you want to make Shanshan a person without identity.”

”She’s Jiang Shan from the Jiang family and obviously cannot enter our Mo family’s registration.”

”Dad...”

Hearing Mo Guowei’s words, Yiyi directly yelled sternly.

”Are you even our father, not recognizing your own granddaughter? You don’t deserve to be a father.”

”You ungrateful daughter, what are you saying! If I’m not fit to be a father, how did you all grow up until now?”

Mo Guowei, having held in anger for several days, finally exploded today. He raised his hand and still wanted to slap Mo Yiyi, his younger daughter, several times. Ever since Jiang Huirong came to the house to demand a divorce, their family became increasingly chaotic, even the once-obedient youngest daughter had turned into such a detestable character.

Yiyi naturally wouldn’t let Mo Guowei hit her. Earlier, she got hit because she was protecting her mother, but now she wouldn’t just stand and take it.

However, the scene that no one expected happened.

”Smack...”

The slap sound rang out again, but this time it was Ding Yuejun, fueled by anger, who dashed forward and slapped Mo Guowei just as he chased Mo Yiyi.
