Primordial Heir: Nine Stars

At the northern extremity of the pocket world, the forest grew darker, its shadows deepening with an almost oppressive weight. The trees here towered higher, their gnarled branches twisting into intricate patterns that obscured the sky above. Their bark was dark and rough, while the leaves rustled with a whispering sound, as if sharing secrets of ancient magic. The atmosphere crackled with chaotic prana, pulsating like a heartbeat, filling the air with an electric tension that set the hairs on the back of one’s neck on edge.

Just like the cadets of the special class, the A class—ranked just below them—had also been sent into this pocket world for training.

Currently, two teams from the A class occupied this foreboding location, separated by only forty kilometers. The distance felt negligible in the eerie silence, as each team navigated the mysterious depths of the forest, at first it appeared there was no connection between them but soon it would be revealed.

Like the special class, their team was composed of both a Knight and a Mage. The Knight was a striking female with long chestnut hair cascading down her back and piercing green eyes that glimmered with determination. Armed with two short swords, she wielded the Law of Wind with deft precision. Alongside her was the male Mage, specializing in the Law of Water, whose calm demeanor belied the power of his magic.

Currently, the duo faced a well-organized group of seven Hobgoblins. After nearly two days of relentless battles, they had honed their skills, their teamwork becoming perfect as time passes, this made them a formidable team to face. The female Knight took on the role of the vanguard, charging into the fray, while the male Mage positioned himself in the rearguard, strategically assisting from the back with a variety of Water spells.

As the Knight charged forward, a vibrant green light enveloped her body, enhancing her agility and speed. The Law of Wind coursed through her, and she felt lighter, almost weightless. With her short swords gleaming, she darted toward the closest three Hobgoblins, her blades poised for combat. Each step was calculated, her movements fluid as she navigated the chaos of battle.

The Hobgoblins, muscular and menacing, were taken aback by her sudden onslaught. With a fierce battle cry, she engaged them head-on, her short swords slicing through the air with deadly accuracy. The first Hobgoblin swung its crude axe at her, but she ducked under the attack, her agility allowing her to evade with ease. In one swift motion, she retaliated, her left sword finding its mark in the creature’s side, the blade sinking deep into its flesh.

Blood sprayed as the Hobgoblin let out a guttural howl of pain,

’’Gyah~’’

However, the female Knight was relentless.

Swoosh!

She spun around, using the momentum to deliver a vicious kick to its knee, causing it to collapse.

Bam! Puchi!

Before it could recover, she plunged her other sword into its throat, silencing its cries, its eyes widened into horror before turning lifeless.

Meanwhile, the male Mage remained anchored in the rear, his wand raised as he surveyed the battlefield. He could see the remaining Hobgoblins gathering to flank the Knight, and he knew he had to act quickly.

’’Water Wave!”

With a focused incantation, he summoned a torrent of water to crash down over the closest group of Hobgoblins.

’’Gugigih!”

’’!!!”

Their surprised expressions turning to panic as they struggled to stay upright. The water surged like a tidal wave, sweeping them off their feet and disorienting them.

”Now, finish them!” he shouted, his voice carrying across the chaos.

The Female Knight, sensing the opening, pressed her advantage.

Bam!

She leaped over the fallen Hobgoblins, her short swords at the ready. As she landed, she targeted another enemy, her blades dancing with the wind’s energy.

Swish! Swish!

With a quick flick of her wrist, she unleashed a series of rapid strikes, each one sharper and more precise than the last. The Hobgoblin tried to raise its weapon to defend, but it was too late; she sliced through its guard and struck deep into its chest.

Clangs! Clangs!

The battlefield was filled with the sounds of clashing steel and cries of pain, but the female knight remained focused. She could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins, fueling her every move, she must make use of this moment. Just as she dispatched the second Hobgoblin, one more charged at her from the side, weapon raised high.

Roll!

Reacting instinctively, she rolled to the side, narrowly dodging the swing.

Katang!

As she regained her footing, she turned her attention to the Mage, who had conjured a swirling vortex of water behind her.

’’Water Vortex!” he chanted, his eyes fully focused on the ongoing fight.

”Use it!” he commanded, and she nodded in understanding.

With a swift motion, she beckoned the wind to her aid.

’’Wind hear my command!”

The air around her crackled as she combined her powers with his.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The vortex expanded, and a powerful gust of wind surged forth, enveloping the remaining Hobgoblins and sending them reeling.

Seizing the moment, the female knight charged once more, her blades flashing in the dim light. She targeted the last two Hobgoblins standing, who were struggling against the combined forces of water and wind.

’’Hiyaah! Die!”

With a final battle cry, she lunged forward, her swords finding their marks with undeniable precision.

As the last Hobgoblin fell, she stood amidst the chaos, breathing heavily but victorious. The battlefield fell silent, littered with the defeated foes.

The Mage approached, a proud smile on his face. ”Well done! Your control over the wind was impressive.”

The female knight wiped sweat from her brow, returning his smile. ”And your water spells made all the difference. Together, we make a great team.”

With their enemies vanquished, they took a moment to catch their breath. The dark forest surrounding them seemed to come alive again, the sounds of nature returning as they prepared to move onward, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in their training journey, it was what she thought until everything spiraling out of control.
