Chapter 6684: Traitors of the Sect

“Six lords, Baili Xukong seeks an audience,” Baili Xukong’s voice suddenly echoed outside.

“Let him in,” Ting Yun said.

The six neutral elders slumped on their seats, feigning weakness.

The door opened, and Baili Xukong stepped in.

“Milords, my request for you to channel the Netherworld God Bestowment has resulted in your weakness. I’m apologetic for that. I have prepared some divine water for my breakthrough, but it should be useful for your injuries,” Baili Xukong said as he presented six exquisite jade bottles.

“At least you have a heart!” Lie Shan took the jade bottle and inspected its contents. Only after confirming that there was nothing amiss with it did he finally gulp it down.

The other five observed Lie Shan’s reaction before doing the same.

“Baili Xukong, you crossed blows with those two women. What is your evaluation of them?” Cang Li asked.

“They are very powerful, but they are only able to stand their ground because of your injuries. Otherwise, they wouldn’t stand a chance at all,” Baili Xukong said.

“Have you thought about how astonishingly fast they have grown, where they could only flee in our presence before, but now they can stand on equal footing with us? Are you confident that we can deal with them the next time we meet?” Cang Li asked.

“That’s why we have to awaken the sacred item as soon as possible. They won’t pose any threat to us once we acquire the sacred item’s power,” Baili Xukong replied.

“Are you that certain that the sacred item’s power will allow us to rival those juniors’ talents?” Cang Li asked.

“What do you mean by that, Lord Cang Li? Do you lack faith in our Netherworld Sect? Do you think that we can’t rival the so-called Chu Clan Alliance, even with the sacred item’s power?” Baili Xukong questioned.

“We don’t know how potent the sacred item’s power is, but we have witnessed what Chu Feng and his friends are capable of. We all know how difficult it is to raise our cultivation at Heavenly God level. If not for our Netherworld Embryos and Netherworld Master’s means, we wouldn’t even have been able to raise our cultivation.

“But look at those women. They easily raised their cultivation at Heavenly God level, and their talent is presumed to be inferior to Chu Feng’s. If Chu Feng were to reach Heavenly God level, I don’t know if our Netherworld Sect can stop him,” Ting Yun remarked.

Baili Xukong had been frustrated at Cang Li for a while now, but he still harbored respect for Ting Yun. He was surprised to hear such words coming from the latter. He realized that Ting Yun had begun siding with Cang Li now.

“Lord Ting Yun, do all of you mean to reconcile with Chu Feng?” Baili Xukong asked.

“What Chu Feng has done is understandable. For the Netherworld Sect’s future, it is more beneficial for us to befriend Chu Feng than to continue being enemies with him,” Ting Yun replied.

“I see.” Baili Xukong smiled bitterly.

Without any hesitation, he thrust his palm toward Ting Yun.

Ting Yun waved his sleeves and stopped the attack with ease.

Seeing that, Lie Shan, Cang Li, and the others stood up and exerted their oppressive might.

“Milords, you were really feigning injury? I see, I see.” Baili Xukong gritted his teeth in resentment.

The six neutral elders belatedly realized that they had given their act away in their fit of anger.

“Chu Feng is an outsider. Why do you insist on siding with him? Is it just because he is talented? He has crossed our Netherworld Sect and infringed on our bottom line on many occasions. Have you forgotten about that? Yet, you want to recruit him into our Netherworld Sect. Have your heads become rotten?!

“I have respected you all this while, but you completely ignored the Netherworld Sect’s safety and obstinately insisted on bringing our enemy in. How can you face Lord Netherworld Master?” Bailu Xukong grew more agitated as he spoke, eventually reaching a point where he shouted.

Cang Li and the others turned to Dongfang Hansong. There was no way Baili Xukong would know about their intention unless Dongfang Hansong told him.

“Milords, please don’t blame me. I have no choice but to take a stance for the Netherworld Sect. Chu Feng mustn’t be allowed to join the Netherworld Sect. He... has to die.”

Right after saying those words, Dongfang Hansong formed a hand seal. Baili Xukong formed the same hand seal as well.

Blood red aura seeped from the two of them and spread outward, swiftly forming a massive formation.

“The Netherworld Embryo Siphoning Formation?”

Cang Li and the others were infuriated. This formation sought to siphon their power away. Dongfang Hansong and Baili Xukong were looking to kill them!

Just as they were about to fight back, they felt their energies going into disarray, to the point where they thought their bodies might explode. They collapsed to the ground, unable to muster any strength.

“You... poisoned us?” Ting Yun pointed his finger at Dongfang Hansong.

They had inspected Baili Xukong’s divine water—there was no poison in it. This meant that the poison was in Dongfang Hansong’s pills.

“Milords, how can we be a match for you without pulling some tricks? I was reluctant to do this in view of our past ties, but I have to do it for the Netherworld Sect. Your decisions will lead our Netherworld Sect to its doom. You are the Netherworld Sect’s traitors! I can’t allow you to have your way. We shall inherit your strength and bring the Netherworld Sect to a greater height!”

Dongfang Hansong changed his hand seal. The six neutral elders’ faces distorted, and their bodies began to warp.

Martial power, along with their Netherworld Embryos’ auras, gushed from them and flowed into Baili Xukong and Dongfang Hansong’s bodies.

“Dongfang Hansong, we only wanted to discuss with you. Why...” Cang Li lay weakly on the ground, his eyes reflecting hatred and confusion.

Dongfang Hansong could have voiced his disagreement to their decision. They had never insisted on recruiting Chu Feng into their Netherworld Sect.

He didn’t expect Dongfang Hansong to be so vicious as to go after their lives, especially when they had been comrades for countless years now.

Under the formation, Cang Li and the others swiftly lost their cultivation and passed out.

“Traitors of the Netherworld Sect deserve to be executed.”

Baili Xukong drew his God Armament saber.
